I have problems sitting for a long time at my desk because of issues with my legs swelling and my knees are shot. For a long time I built on a lap board so I could keep my feet up while I worked.

Modeling disaster stories?
Deathgoblin replied to JPS_Lotus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh, I had one! I picked up a resin kit of Mahoro from an anime series called Mahoromatic. It was a figure of the main character straddling a motorcycle and holding a pistol. It was a decent kit and the bike is insanely detailed, but I got a cheap knock off from Thailand, so instead of any real packaging, it was just a bag of parts. I had picked out all of the parts for the character to prep and paint and set the remaining bag of parts (the bike, which was 3/4 of the kit) to the side. Unfortunately, I put it right next to some stuff that needed to be thrown away. My wife mistook it for an empty chip bag and tossed it. I didn't catch that the parts were missing until I went to start trying to clean up the bike parts. I ended up having to order a whole replacement kit. My wife felt so bad she ended up ordering two more resin kits to make up for it. -

Gotta say, the guy who avoided the crowd and slammed into a snowbank was the best possible outcome of that one. -
I joke about never wanting to touch a kit again after some of the work I see on here (like the Head Hunter, dude...). But really it just pushes me to do more. I see improvements in my paint jobs, detailing, etc. because of being inspired by the work on here.

I picked up a 2010 Shelby GT500 for less than $9 earlier. They had several there that I wouldn't have minded getting.

These are awesome kits. I've got one done up in OHP livery. They have a LOT of options. Enjoy! -
Got a 1/32 scale Ford EXP. Full detail kit, has an engine. It's pretty cute.

AMT 62 Pontiac Catalina and a 71 Plymouth GTX. Both are nice, but I think the Catalina is a lot nicer kit.

I must say, after having such a good experience on the '53 Hudson I'll be investing in the others without hesitation. Excellent stuff, Dave.

That's gorgeous! Love the colors.

I've had my eye out for one of these for a while now. I picked up a gluebomb cheap. It's mostly complete, I'll have to do an inventory to make sure, but nothing's broken, and the engine and chassis are nicely painted.

1936 Ford De Luxe Coupe (five window)
Deathgoblin replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Really nice work. -
Oh yeah, been there! I've had to strip kits a couple of times to get things to look right. Actually, the interior on the Ford got it once. Oh, I didn't catch until I posted that there's a big honking cat hair on top of the car in the rear shot. Those things do get everywhere.

No offense taken!! I really appreciate the input. Trust me, I'm my own worst critic. The pics don't show things that I see that I messed up.

That looks really nice! I love how the wood came out on the deck and barrels. -
Nice chop! Looking forward to seeing what this one looks like!

I caught where the rear panel was the base color after I had completed the paint. After all that masking, I wasn't gonna redo it. I found some pictures of the car with chrome on the drip rails and kinda liked it, so I went with it. The interior turned out okay... I was trying to do red and a light grey, but it didn't turn out the way I pictured it. The dash, though, makes me happy.

Really nice work! I love the pearl white.

Finally getting the chance to start posting again. I still need to get a good engine shot, but at least it's a start. This is the Revell 57 Ford kit. It's pretty awesome, overall. Everything went together like a charm. I did a two-tone paint job; Ford Cardinal Red by Duplicolor, topped with Testor's Classic White. I thought about making it a Fire Chief car after the paint came out, but it still looks pretty nice as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for looking, and please leave some comments/suggestions.
