Inappropriate forum behavior
george 53 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Harry, I really don't think what is goin on in those places could be considered petty! Your right though, it IS true, thru no fault of their own. I was just refering to the way things are HERE. Folks seem ta get TOO worked up over simple stuff, like what should or shouldn't be posted on certain forums. To ME, that's petty, but like they say, "To each, his own" -

1956 Revell Ford Country Squire
george 53 replied to bigskybob's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Honestly, I'd put it at between 125 to 200 bucks. depending on the condition of the model AND the box. This is a VERY desireable kit, an to find one UNBUILT AND complete,is a VERY good score. Do you mind if I ask what you DID pay for it? The molds were destroyed to make the 57 ranchero kit, and then butchered one last time to make the "Street Custom" chopped roof version of same. We'll NEVER see that kit in it's original form again! GREAT SCORE!!! -
Yowza! That's tha Kat's pajamas!!! You sure got it DOWN Bill! Especially likes the 'coon tail!!! She looks real nice an at home in front of the Ol' station! Looks GREAT!!!!

george 53 replied to wwpms6's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1st, WELCOME Tommy! 2nd, Man have YOU hit the mutha load! If THESE guys can't help you, they AIN'T NO helpin you! As far as supplies go, not knowin what you may have, getcha a nice new x-acto knife, with NEW no.11 blades, a few Fine to Course Emery Boards, maybe some small clippers(for removein parts from the trees). If you can find some really fine sandpaper that would help too. There's SO much stuff out there that you could probably spend a fortune gettin it all! But this should get ya started, oh, I didn't mention GLUE! Use whatever does best for you. Some guys use liquid(like me) an some use Tube glue, an still others use epoxies, so it's really what suits you best. The guys'll add more as they come across this thread, but this should gettcha started. -
1/25th '70 Mercury Cougar?
george 53 replied to MPi-KM's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Noel, I can vouch for Kevin's stuff. His Cougar kit is SOOOOO nice, when you see it, you'll think it was an ORIGINAL kit! It's so well cast , you'll think it's plastic! Both Kevin's AND Jeff's Motor City Resins kits are exact in their detail, and casting! If you do go with them you WON'T be dissapointed! -

what year fairlane 500 did these come from?
george 53 replied to B_rad88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bran, they LOOK like the rear quarter scripts for a 67/67 Fairlane. Find an AMT model of said Fairlane an you'll see what I mean. -
J, just outta curiosity, I googled a 71 Cuda, an you DID have the shifter on correctly! I thuoght it was, but you know how memory gets with age, so I wasn't sure. BUT it was in there right. Just thought you'd like to know, in case you wanted to change it back(to it's CORRECT position)

Drago, I saw this rascal last year at the Detroit Auto-Rama, it IS a BEAUTIFUL work of art! Yours looks like It'll be on the money. But I'm not sure if the bodies are the same size. The Rambler body LOOKS to be a tad smaller, but I guess you's have to have them side by side to compare them properly. Yours looks like it'll be right on! Oh, an WHO is that CUTE little boy in your avitar? Sure is a Good Lookin lil guy!!!

GREAT history lesson Mark. I got a couple of ALL of them except the Nascar versions. Only have the K&K insurance kit. I do have the DIE-CAST version of the 70 F&F kit, it looks MUCH nicer than the plastic version, but not as accurate as the original 70 MPC kit. I had an extra 70 interior bucket and seats layin around, so I used it an made a stock 70 outta it. Still not as nice as the original, but it did come out nice, for a die cast!
-
I gatta agree with the guys, it does look good,BUT,,, That seat just looks TOOOO nice ta be in that rusted out body. Hey, maybe he jus re-upholstered it an ain't got around ta fixin up the body? Looks GOOD either way!
-
