Greg, I ain't gonna get a letter from your Mum tellin me this project drove ya NUTTIER than you ALREADY are am I? If so, I'll hafta fly the 15 or so hours just ta get down there ta see ya(Boy, I bet my arms'll REALY be tired! )(rimshot)! You GOTTA be one of the most adventurous builders I've ever seen! Not till I saw the size of your hand holding it did I realize how big it is! Yeah it's probably easier on the ol eyes, but, your right, not ALOT of aftermarket parts for that scale! Well Daddy-O I KNOW if anyone can pull this off,YOU DA MAN!!!! Lookin GREAT Stump, you got the patience of an ang.....Of a TRUE modeler!!!!! ( I jus coulnt call ya an angel!)

Ed you got you a GREAT son! And he's not a bad builder either! But I gotta admit, My daughter Joy is in the same league! Kiss(her nickname) is the Best kid a Dad could want! She ALWAYS give her ol Dad a Franklin mint for Christmas,She throws about 5 choices for me, an lets me take my pick! On my birthday, April 1st, she gives me bucks to go to the annual toy show at MCCC here in Detroit.(actually it's in Warren)She's my only one and YES she still is a Daddy's girl! Wouldn't trade her for the WORLD!(sorry world!) Like Will, she's a one in a MILLION!!!!! We are VERY fortunate! -
Dan, THAT is one Rad Ride! Yep it sure does look like the GM#6 I remember! Now Daddy-O all ya gotta do is build his 1st Jet Car! I have 2 1/32nd scale jet engines, I think one is a J-79 outta a F-4 Phantom jet fighter, and another from a MiG 21 don't know what type it is,but it looks cool. If'n ya wanna try it let me know an I'll send ya one! OUTSTANDING build, as usual. Thanks for the memories!!!

Brake from models
george 53 replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeeesh, when I go down into my model room, I lose ALL track of time! My wife finally comes to tell me she's goin to bed,and tells me I've been down there for 6 hours! I don't even notice it till I go to get up, THEN my back reminds me I've been at it too long! Since I found this site,I spend ALOT more time here than building. But it's fun here, and I like bein here almost as much as I enjoy workin on models. If you notice I'm here EVERYDAY! so I tend to slip away from the actual modeling part and hang here alot.To me, BOTH things are fun,and relaxing. -
Mike, that came out GREAT! I know the Cameo's had fiberglass rear fenders, so the lead in is VERY helpful. Iwas lookin at it,and thought the taillight bezels were too shiney. At least a broken lens or sumpthin!THEN I saw it! The EXPOSED bulb in the left rear light! MAN was THAT EVER PERFECT!!!!!That, to me, makes it just too cool!!!All in all a GREAT BUILD!!!
-
Wow, that's a nice clean otb build! If ya built it that well on the coffee table, how much better could you have done at a dedicated workbench! Real NICE job, it looks GOOD!!!!
-
Phantom's right on this one Rob.The 429SCJ and the 351C are 2 totally different engines that have NOTHING in common, other than being V-8's and both made by Ford. Could never understand why Ford made so many different engines with no compatability between them.Guess that was one of their so called Better Ideas. Such a WASTE!( and NO I am NOT a Ford fan!)
-
Jeff I'm REALLY happy your getting to build it.It sat in my hobby room so long that I was afraid the dust on the boxtop would cave it in! Ya know I never looked at it, but your right the Camaro's of that style WERE Mac Pherson struts! I changed the struts on my 82 Z and they weren't too hard to do. Looks like it might be kinda tricky to do on the kit though. Hope your enjoying it, as THATS what it was meant to do. Not sit in a closet in my basement!
-
MMMMMMMMMMMM! Dave thanks for postin the MONSTER so all could enjoy it! Looks ta me like you nailed it good! The little story behind the body just cracked me up.Now THAT'S what's called "Dare to be different" BIG TIME!!!! I'll never see adult toys in the same light again!!!!!
-
Thanx,Fuji,an Mike. NOW it DOES make sense. The Camaro analogy was spot on! Ok, I'm STILL an American musclecar freak, but at least NOW I know what all the letters/numbers mean!!!THANX!!!

HOLY SHAMOLY DUDE, wat kinda drugs you takein? These are some of the MOST off the wall builds I've EVER seen! They have ALL been just TOO COOL!!! You got it bad Bro, WHATEVER it is you got! They're in a class by themselves, and you SURE got it together as far as I'm concerned! OUTSTANDING BUILD!!! Oh yeah, It does look kinda like Mr.Crabby!

george 53 replied to Irvin Arter Jr.'s topic in Model Cars
Another job well done,Irv.The photo's are exceptionaly nice! And Bill, you can make a NICE 60 by useing the chassis and engine compartment from the 59 Elky,They interchange without ANY problems.I did it, and it came out pretty good, if I say so myself! Go for it,Daddy-O! -

-

-
Oh Heck yes Bro, If ANYBODY can do it, YOU DA MAN!!! When it comes down to it, I hope you kick it's plastic bootie, an teach it to have some RESPECT, caz it sure din't show ME none!!! Payback is a BEAAATCH!!! Take THAT turbine Devil!! Yeah, I took it kinda personal!!!
-
OK, they're nice lookin cars, even if I'm not into rice burners, but whats with all the letters an numbers behind the make? MR-2 I get as the cars name, but what the *$#& does the other stuff mean?SW20? ZR32 G1 model? Do the Japs got some kinda fixation with the American alphabet? That's just one of the reasons I can't get into them, different models OF THE SAME CAR, with only letters an numbers to differentiate them? And they STILL all look the same? I don't understand, so I'll just leave them alone! But I do hope yours turn out well for you, caz they are nice sporty lookin cars.
-
Philo, That is one HECK of a kit to build(and THAT'S putting it mildly!) You did good with it. I GAVE one away to Bill Geary caz he's the only guy that I thought could build it! Turns out he ALREADY built one, I saw it at Toledo and MAN was it NICE! You did a very good job on an extremely hard kit! It looks GREAT!

Drag City Casting
george 53 replied to sdrodder's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
After Bob(i think it was) posted a thread about him, I thought I'd try to help out an order somethin.I got his LAST 66 Nova Panel van, and a 50 Ford chopped roof. The last ime I ordered from him, I got the Ventura Conversion kit. It was PERFECT! and fit like the perverbial glove! AND I got it in just a few days. This time, when I ordered , It took over Two weeks, So I got online and asked him "waz up?" He was busy with his "Real Job" an naturally, this came first. To make up for not shipping quickly, he sent me 2 extra hoods with the Nova! The hoods were equal to what I paid for the Nova, so in essence, I got the Nova for free! WHO woulda done that, just caz he was busy with life? YES Ed Fluck is a GREAT guy to deal with and I'd recommend his buisness to any/every one! Too bad more vendors don't practice what they preach, like Ed does!!! Oh, and he told me that he wasn't happy with the Nova bodies he had, so he CAST me a NEW ONE that he WAS satisfied with! Now who else woulda gone that far to please a customer? He did, and now he's got a customer for life!!!Can't say enough good about a guy like that!!!! -

WOW James, talk about bein different! That's in it's OWN category! I like it! At least you'll be the only kid on the block with one! Hey, don't even worry about it's practicality, If it can get ya from point A ta point B (even in modelcardom),and it looks like it could, It'll work! You got you one HECK of an imagination goin for ya there! It sure IS unique!

Flopper, do you know that L59.99 is equivalent to about 120.00 AMERICAN money? That's British Pounds, and it's about equal to 2 of our dollars to 1 of theirs. Seems like you may pay ALOT more for the transkit than for the model! I wanted to buy a 1/24th De Havalland Mosquito kit from England. The price was 80 Pounds British, which came to 160 American bucks. Ok I thought, caz I REALLY wanted it! Then they hit me for ANOTHER 80 Pounds for shipping! A total of 320 bucks! Just too much for me, so I had to let it go. Make sure they give you AMERICAN prices when you ask how much! Our American Dollar doesn't go very far here, it goes even LESS farther over there! (England, Hong Kong, Japan) Just wanted to give you a heads up,so you'd know what they REALLY are askin for it!
