Oldman, wouldn't rather have known about the glass BEFORE you bought the kit? Don't ever be afraid to warn your fellow modelers when you get a bad deal from someone! That way, they can decide on there own if they want to buy from that particular vendor. Plus, if he sees it, it may jolt the guy into checkin his stock,to make sure it doesn't happen again. We work hard for the money we spend on our models, and to have some joker just take your money, when he KNOWS he sellin bad stuff is B.S.! Besides, from the sounds of it,He obviously doesn't care that he ripped YOU off! Why protect him? Protect US!!!

Nice Eddi, Philo. Real nice color combo, looks good!

Awww Dave, If ya knew me personally you'd see I'm not a bad guy. But I can't stand to see a friend ripped off! I CAN be outspoken at times, and I feel THIS is one of them! I bought his 55 Pontiac, it too was an an assembled promo. HE OFFERED the resin interior, for the 12 bucks, so I trusted him and bought it. He NEVER took it out of the box, which was my bad, caz I shoulda MADE him do it! What I got ,when I got home, was a NASTY,STICKY,misshaped chunk of resin WITH HAIR IN IT!!! It was at least 1/4 in thick, and NASTY! The dash was full of pinholes and totally worthless! It wasn't even SQUARE to be able to use it! If I can save a fellow modeler the loss of his hard earned money, I'll try. I don't care what anyone says, a lousey vendor SHOULDN'T be in buisness!

60's styled 2005 "RETRO-VETTE" COUPE
george 53 replied to E St. Kruiser50's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Davearino, Your killin me Bro! I hacked up an old leather purse my wife gave me,an I'm TRYING to cut the leather as thin as yours, but I keep slicing thru to the other side!Is there a trick to it? or just your sheer patience? I start on the leather side, but after a few mm's. I end up going THRU it to the suede side. How thin is your stock? the leather I'm useing is only like a 64th or so thick. Is it too thin? I just figgerd the thinner it was, the better it would lay into the contours of the seat. Either way Daddy-O, you've inspired me to go that next step and give it a shot. Never be as good as you, but I can sure as hell give it a try!!! Like Clay said, THANX for the wip pics -
Aaron, I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK the C/S Mustangs were DEALER only options. They had the Shelby rear taillights, but I don't think they had the Shelby facia in front. Otherwise they'd have been just RE badged Shelby's and I DON'T think ol Carrol Shelby woulda gone for that!!! Ford Dealers in Cali made a few Cali only models. I think Denver Ford dealers had a special Mustang/Torino package as well.

Car-llections?
george 53 replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Along with my 25th models, I tend to buy the Danbury Mints,as I think the quality is MUCH better than Franklin Mints. I've NEVER gotten a Franklin Model that SOMETHING did'nt fall off in shipping. So maybe it was just a hubcap, but for the price,I don't want to have to repair it! Danbury cars are put together MUCH better! And they make ALOT of 68/70 B bodies, I just got the 70 Charger from them and it's PERFECT! -
Mayday,Mayday!, I'm goin in HOT! Tell my wife I love her, see ya all at the next Gig,Sayonara, an Hasta La Vista Baby!!!!! CRASH.sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Not detracting ANYTHING for your build, there was a similar build up of a station wagon Mustang in SA last year. His came out just as nice as yours. The lines do lend themselves to that conversion quite well. You did a GREAT job, looks like it would sell well in the real world!

New stuff from Modelhaus
george 53 replied to Tom Kren's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
OOOO that Chrysler station wagon is PURTY! Is that the same make as the "Sheriff of Cochise" usedta drive? It sure looks like it's up to the Modelhaus's usually fine quality. I like it enough to get one! -
THAT is my Uncle Paul's car! Last time I saw that beautiful car, I was 7 and my Uncle an Aunt,an 3 cousins were all packed up and moving to California! They were pullin a trailer with it and moved to Los Angeles. I used to visit with them when I was at Camp Pendelton. BEAUTIFUL BUILD! Thanks for the memories!!!!!!

You guys can say what you want about this guy, but I'll NEVER buy ANYTHING from him again! What he charges for the resin garbage he sells is a crime! Are things SO BAD with his buisness that he sells JUNK to his customers just to make ends meet? The pieces of garbage he charged me for woulda been THROWN OUT by a reputable resin caster, You guys do what you want, BUT I"LL NEVER TRUST THE GUY! And I will warn others about him, Nice personalities DO NOT make up for shoddy workmanship, or flat out rippin people off!!!

Best frame to start off with (32 ford)
george 53 replied to mademan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Terry's right Dude, they don't mix. If your buildin a newer 32(as in modern)the Phantom 32 Vickie has the most modern frame. For a traditional rod,any of the R/M 32's 'll do. The old AMT parts pack had a nice frame that'd fit a 29 body without too much work. I think the NEW RC2 engine pack comes with a frame that you MIGHT be able to use(I don't know if it's long enough, but you could stretch it without too much trouble) Hope this helps. -
Tom, the color is perfect! It'll be fun to see you an Lyle dukein it out again this year at Toledo But, since you did win the bet, maybe you could give Lyle a little bit ova break this year and not build such a killer model this year.(or is that askin too much?) She's lookin real good so far!

My hearse isn't the same no more
george 53 replied to evilone's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
MSP would have a FEILD DAY with that thing Eve! I can see a coupla things on it that just wouldn't fly around here! You'd think that with all the cars around here, the Cops would know what trends are hot, an so forth. But these Deeeetroit's "finest" are so worried about their jobs, they give tickets for ANYTHING! Especially if your from the "White Suburbs" This city is so dumpy they'll take your money for ANY reason the city council circus/zoo/comedy club, can think of! You should see the mess Cobo was for the Auto-Rama! I hope 5.0 don't mess with you, caz I gotta agree with Joe on this one, RED lights WOULD look downright EVIL on that Bad Boy!!!(an that's the point, innit?) -
LV, My Super Bee was that color, I always thought it was F-5 Green, or "Light Green Metalic" Mine had a Black interior and a 440 Automatic.Other than my 69 Charger, my 69 Bee was one of my FAVORITE cars. That B body style was the nicest style Chrysler ever had, IMO. Your is lookin GREAT so far!

50's just over the 1/2 way point, so yeah, it is all downhill from here,But remember the most thrilling part of the roller coaster,is the DOWNWARD trip! It may be short, but, it's the BEST PART of the ride!!!!! HAPPY BIRFDAY KIDD-O -
Plymouth kit hoods
george 53 replied to Merkur XR4Ti's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Steve, check out reliable resins, theyhave that hood for about 6/7bucks IIRC,Plus postage, and he don't mess around with postage! He chargers about 7 bucks to mail it! 15 bucks was TOO much for me, so I passed on it. I'll try to make one from the Air Grabber hood that came in the kit.Besides it's more fun! And that hood was NEVER available on the Satellite, or Sport Satellite, it was a RR/GTX option EXCLUSIVELY,as a NON Ram Air hood.Hope this helps. -
another 69 Nova! Revised outdoor photos 3/14/09
george 53 replied to Irvin Arter Jr.'s topic in Model Cars
Looks GOOD Irv! That's the way them little street bruisers looked all right. My 1st REAL car was a 69 Nova SS350, and it sat like yours, only I had Mickey Thompson Pro Traks on the rear, and it sat just a little higher. I actually had the cops pull me over to measure the bumper height! How anal was that? -
unidentified carbs
george 53 replied to rlucky73721's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Marcus, I think that's a generic engine. The one your refering to is on the cover of Hi-Perfomance Cars,July,1971 issue. I'm lookin at it right now, and it's got 4 vertically mounted Webers, with 3 crankcase breather tubes, between the carbs,in the valley cover. It has 2 distinct cam covers over each bank of cylinders, and the cover blurb say's"455 Olds DOHC Street Hemi" The engine that rluck is showin doesn't look ANYTHING like this monster! -
Gotta admit, it sure does look good! The color is perfect for what it is, not all shiney an glossy an stuff. It DOES look like something that coulda been built inna backyard, back in tha day!

Weird smell from kit parts
george 53 replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Custom, I think Bob may have it right. Could be just the smell of the plastic beein heated up by the sanding process. I noticed it to on some of my kits, but I thought it was just me. -
1/24 scratch built resin kit? Honda Insight?
george 53 replied to FujimiLover's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Fuji,Welcome to the BEST site on the web! Have you tried Hobby Link Japan? They have ALOT if different Import kits and they just may have your car. They get their stock right from Japan(so they say) so they MAY be able to get one for you. At least it's worth a try. Hope this helps.
