Mike, I gotta agree with James on this one. I too have those little Drawer boxes for most of my extra stuff. One with Chevy stuff, Valve covers, headers, rear ends, built/unbuilt engine blocks, heads, intakes. You get the idea.Got all my engines an parts sorted like this.In the larger units, with bigger drawers I got, like, stock bucket seats, racing buckets in another.Hoods with scoops, seperate scoops,Bench seats, you know, just a way to try to keep track of stuff.Once you get used to it ,it works pretty good.I strip parts off the tree, and put 'em in their respective drawer.I works pretty good for me. I use the long peices of sprue for makin trailer frames an junk like that. If you got some old liquid glue to spare, chop up the sprue into SMALL peices1/8th, 1/4 in. an drop 'em in the liquid glue till it's 1/2 full, let it sit for a coupla days, it'll melt and you can use it as a medium for casting small peices like emblems, door handles, fender ornaments. Smaller stuff you need copies of.If you do it with the red plastic sprues, you can even do taillights.(small ones) Hope this helped.

Kev, My mom had all 3 years, plus more of those Lincolns. You'd play heck tryin to pass of a 65 for a 69. Too many small differences to have to redo. The shoulder creases on the sides are different, the trunk lid is more squared off than in 65, just too much stuff to hafta change. You'd be WAAAAYYY better off startin with a 66/67/68, IF you can't find a 69. These years are pretty much exactly the same as far as BODY stylng goes. The grilles and rear bumper/taillight ass. are a little different, so you can kinda "fudge" on them. ,the 69 Grille is different from the other years,(66/7/8) in that it gets larger in the center(between the headlights) than the others. You can do it, caz if you can do WHAT you do to the other models, this'll be a walk in the park!. BUT DON'T try to convert the 65, Just too many small diferences to make it NOT worth the trouble. Stay with the other years, an keep your 65 as is, just for the memories.(with props ta Bob Hope!)

Does this model exist?
george 53 replied to KanelKustoms's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gary, try lookin for the old MONOGRAM 36 ford coupe kit, it's 24th scale and it SHOULD match up with your 37 kit without too much fuss. Other than that I think your ONLY recourse is resin. Try Jimmy Flintstone or R&R both available at Star Models. Oh yeah, he also carries the Hendricks line of resin kits too. You should be able to find what your looking for there. I'd be surprised if you didn't, cause he carries ALOT of stuff on his website, AND he's GREAT to deal with! Hope this helps! -
Mercury Man,WHY are those guys beatin that poor horse? THAT just ain't right!

Nice to meet you
george 53 replied to kustomrodz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welcome Kustom, Glad you came by! You'll like it here, caz EVERYBODY's always willing to help you out. As far as painting goes, thats more like a personal preference thing. Some guys use model paint(like me) some of the better builders prefer real Auto paint. I'm lucky to be able to paint at all, so I go for the easy way out, but guys like Treehugger Dave use regular auto paint. You can tell the difference in the final product, but real car paint is too tricky for me. I'm not that great at paintin so model paint works best for me. As for what grit paper to use, I use a polishing kit, an it goes up to 2800 grit which is REALLY fine. One of the guys could probly tell you better, as painting is not one of my fortes.(things I do best) -
Jeff, yeah, that's what I thought too, but sure as heck, when I used it in reference to my answer to Harry's RoM , it came back all in little # thingies. So I edited my post and used darn, a Viola!, it printed it. All I can say is try it an see if it happens to you? I din't THINK it was a prohibited word, but, then it's NOT my forum. I can live with it, I was just curious.

Oh, and Dan, I picked up that same Bus at MCCC Toy Show too. 110.00 bucks, what'd yours hit you for? I wanted to open it up an grok it, but I told my Wife to wrap it up, so my Granddaughter could give it to me for Christmas. At least I know I'm gettin ONE model for Christmas.

Well, after chasin Ray Parsons around for nearly 2 years, I finally ran into him at the MCCC toy show ,here in Warren,Mich. Turns out he din't have what I wanted with him, BUT he was sending a batch of resin kits to Steve Kohler, over at Star Models, I got ahold of Steve, told him what Ray said, and lo an behold, I ordered TWO 1970 Buick GSX's in 25th scale!!! They just got here, and they're BEAUTIFUL! And in MY scale! I took my own advice an got 2 for just in case he doesn't get anymore later! Man, I had been wantin one of these things for a LOOOONG time! I'm so happy I could FART! But I won't cause I don't wanna be rude! But I AM a HAPPY Lil Camper!!! If your lookin for some off the wall models, and you don't mind resin kits, give Steve a call, he just may be able to help you.

Kanel, just stick around bro, an you'll find there's ALOT of guy's here who can do thinks like that. Bill Geary instantly comes to mind, but I'm SURE there quite a few of our members who like to do that kinda stuff. Yes you can say that other mags name here, but it doesn't have much weight, caz we're already privey to the BEST model car mag there is! If you can remember your guys name, just post a question in "Where's Waldo" It's like a "lost and Found" for people.

James, Thank God, that I DON'T drink do drugs OR Blasphemy My Lord almighty! You think that word puts ME on a plain even with the ALMIGHTY? You my freind are VERY confused on Who the Almighty is, and What HE expects from us! I Didn't think a simple question would bring my faith an convictions to God into play. NEVER talk relgious beliefs OR politics to an individual who has a personal relationship with either one. We are VERY touchy on said subjects! All I did was ask a question. All you had to do was say yes or no. NOT question my beliefs, or try to define them. This is NOT the place for such antics, or discussions.

Ok, I think I got this right now. Anyways, I replied to Harry's RoM, an used the word D as in Dan A as in Adam M as in Man and N as in No, and it came back deleted with a bunch of little # marks. Is that a bad word now?Is it AUTOMATICALLY deleted? I've been seein guys using those little asterisks to say some pretty rough language that, since there's no words, I can think up some really Doozies to use in their place! But I thought we weren't supposed to use them either.I don't really care if their replaced by apples, caz I got my idea across, but isn't this a little much? I didn't realy think D as in Dan, A as in Adam, M as in Man, and N as in No, was a bad word. Isn't this a BIT much? I can agree that we should watch our language, but what about just every day talk? I think those @#%^*~! are worse than my little word, cause it seems to let the imagination go wild with improper diction. Just what are they TRYING to say? Me thinks it's ALOT worse than my little word.Even Krappin Blaque had to re do his name. I'm ok with it, I'm just askin.

AHHA! Harry I was Waitin for ya Bro! Ya got me last week and I'm on my toes today!(It makes me TALLER!)I think todays RoM is a ........ Heck Harry, I can't tell! It's too darn early to see straight, much less think! I'm goin with a shot inna dark an say REAL! Probly wrong(again) But thats my choice, an I'm stickin with it!
