AMT Rescue 911 Dodge Ram Van?
george 53 replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Kev, just go down to your local fire station an ask someone in charge if you could take pics of one of theirs. Most firefighters are REAL nice guys and won't mind if you show an interest in their work.My son-in law is a firefighter, and he and his fellow firefighters ALWAYS like to show off their rigs! They are always clean an waxed and ready to roll, to a parade or a fire. These guys are TRUE HEROES. go on down there an ask,you might be surprised! -
Holy Smokes guys, he doesnt build models, he builds SMALL CARS!!!! This guy looks like he's up there with Bill, Treehugger,an Mr.BIGGS! Yowsa, I just LOVE that kinda buildin! Maybe someday,Sweet Jesus, maybe someday......... Well, all I can say is he sure got another fan in me!!!!
-
Well 62, ghostbusters done your way looks pretty good to me! All your "done my way" builds look pretty good!!!
-
Well Harry, ya gots me!I for sure tought it was a real one, but I guess it's not. I couldn't stand the suspense, so I hada ask one o' my "secret agents" to check it out for me and he was able to see thru your "smoke screen" and reveal the truth! But as far as the scale is concerned,it's gotta be bigger than 1/24th because of the detail involved(unless it was built by Bill Geary)And, I know there is NO 1/8th model of that particular vette, so I too go with Clay on this an say, 1/16th scale.
-
Marcos, I just WISH I could be as anal retentive and perfectionist as Bill Geary!

K2, was there somethin wrong with it when you started? Was the body warped? why did you cut the front fenders off?Is that the original chassis, or did you use the 62 T-bird chassis?Sorry for all the questions, but you musta done alot to it, cuz it looks prettygood to me.I do like the two tone.

I'm gonna hafta agree with Vanagon, that Revell 57 Chevy Nomad was probly one of the most prettiest box tops I had ever seen. Made me buy the model! I bought it knowing I couldn't build that bad boy, cause I couldn't build the ###### racer sedan with the yellow 57 on it! But MAN was that one pretty car! The 69/70 Mustang Coupes by Revell looked pretty good too. -
AWWW BILL , I cooda dun dat wit my hans behind my back anna toothpick in my mouf! Yeah ,Right! Hey Bud If you do really wanna build one on it's Fifteyith, I got one still inna box you can HAVE! Jus openin the box an seein ALL those parts made me just close it up again an put it away! It's yours if you need it for extra parts or sompthin(like front wheels, )

AMT Rescue 911 Dodge Ram Van?
george 53 replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Tere, I don't really think it represents any SPECIFIC year. Just a Dodge van. The grille isn't molded to be any specific year either. I guess MPC was too cheap back then to bother with trivial things like accuracy. It does build up well though. -
Guys, I just picked up a 1/24th Union models Ferrari 330 P-4. It LOOKS like a nice kit, and it wasn't till Shane(texas rat) turned me on to these "Le Mans" racers that I got into em. It seems to be a full detail kit, with engine an suspension an so on, but is it a easy kit to build? It SURE LOOKS GOOD! Any help/advice would sure be appericiated, I don't wanna mess it up, It's TOO pretty! TIA, Oh, the decals on the side of mine say "Firestone"

Beautiful build! I'm sure it wasn't as easy as it looks to fit all those peices together like that. Came out great! BTW, what is the little circular thingie between the rear wheelhouses? Just curious.

george 53 replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well EVIL, MAYBE JUST MAYBE, We might be able to get one of our Forum resin casters to pop that rascal for us!It won't be right away,(lotsa other good stuff on his plate)But the offer to do it IS there so I'll hold off messin with it till I know for sure.Lets keep our collective fingers AND toes crossed! -
Its probly runnin that "Slick 50" stuff in it! one time we killed a slant 6 that we drained the oil outa, an that bastige ran almost 45 min with NO oil, BUT the oil that was in it was treated with Slick 50 oil additive!
-
That IS cool! I've always wondered why no one ever tried it before. Those are some of my favorite "Auto Scenes" type paintings. I do like the ones that feature the later 60's musclecars, but yours is JUST TOO COOL.Like the picture come to life!!!GREAT JOB!!!

WoW does THAT look sharp! Are ALL those Caddy bodies from "Betos"? Who is he, an where can I get a hold of him? I really do like the newer Cad body styles, and wouldn't mind buildin a few.Yours look like they're gonna be really cool! Sure do like that green!
