  1. I found some good pics of a built model of the Charger. It seems there are a lot more listed. I hope this link works as it's a google translate. http://customrodder.forumactif.org/f106-aurora-hot-rod-and-custom-cars-model-kits
  2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1970-Aurora-Butterfly-Catcher-Hippie-Truck-Van-Model/292480800554?hash=item441936d72a:g:lHMAAOSw~vNaprt-
  3. I don't think there is any problem with the bed sides. I think the truck is beautiful. It just seems that the rear fenders are too flat. Is the top of your front fenders from the P.U.? Maybe you could cut the tops off another kit and graft them to your back fenders?
  4. I wonder if there is a pic of the rear view anywhere to be found.
  5. I want to build a 1/25 scale clone of the old Aurora 1/32 kit "The Charger" I'm sure I could scratchbuild the cab and bed, but is there a 1/25 scale kit that has a body close to this, hopefully with grille shell and headlights to match? I'm thinking the Lindberg Model T pickup would probably have period correct suspension grille and cowl. If anyone knows or has pics of this model, I would love to see them or get a link to pics.
  6. Darn small images in those catalogs! I just looked with stronger glasses. The one I want to do is "The Charger" I guess that explains why I couldn't find any pics of it
  7. I think I would like to try to do a 1/25 scale clone of "The Chariot", but I'm not having any luck finding any pics of the box art. Can anyone help with a pic or link to one?
  8. Was that an ebay find? How much did they charge you for the shipping?
  9. Thanks Casey, I did go to his profile page to PM him, but he hasn't been on the site since the beginning of December, so I didn't think it was worth the effort.
  10. I found an email address he listed on a post on the forum and sent him an email about a week ago and have not heard back. I know he's on FB, but I don't use it, nor do I have any interest is signing on to it. Does anyone know if he is slow to return emails, or has a current way to contact him outside of FB?
  11. It's only plastic, it really doesn't take much guts. The worst that can happen is more parts for the next project.
  12. Viper Sedan Delivery. The roof is from a PT Cruiser that I filled the windows, narrowed it, and added a wedge to the back to make it flow better. I started this one last night. I have another roof coming, so I'm going to make a Plymouth Prowler SD.
  13. I like that a lot. Have you finished it, if not I have a suggestion for you. Look at the nice gentle curve on the tops of your front fenders, now look at how the top of the back fenders are somewhat flat. The whole truck is rounded, the cab, hood, fenders, and the back of the bed, the only flat part is the top of the bed. I think if you added a curve to the tops of the back fenders it would improve the overall look of your truck quite a bit.
  14. Casey, you have to remember it was the mid 60's(?) when these came out. And if you think "Meat Wagon" was bad, back in the van days, I remember a van called the "Necromancer". Could you imagine a guy coming to your house to pick up your daughter for a first date with her new boyfriend and seeing that in your driveway?
  15. Is the oblong shape of your holes consistent? If so maybe you could compensate for it when you make your file.
  16. I do it like Bill does, but I skip the initial groove. I found I only need to use my fingers as a guide. I eye ball all my angles.
  17. In my program If I copy the layout, it will lay a second path exactly on top of the first one. So when you send it to the plotter ( which I have done many times by mistake) it will cut exactly over the first cut. Due to the drag of running styrene through it, I would not trust it to track properly. The idea of using larger holes on an inside layer makes a lot of sense. Also the holes are so repetitive on this layout, It wouldn't be too hard to design, although it would be a lot of copy and pasting.
  18. I'd much rather have a Packard or LaSalle than a reissue of a custom rod with a dog house body. There were many cool hot rods from that era, Sad Sack, Chariot, Ram Rod, Wolf Wagon, Tee for Two, and more. What a great record of the history of Aurora kits. Thanks for posting that.
  19. This is a beautiful combo. You should be proud of it!
  20. "They're gonna keep chickening us!" As corny as this movie is, i still love it! I don't know if it's still available, it was on you tube, but it was in about 6 sections.
  21. What is the custom grille in the 3rd pic, 2nd one up from the bottom in the center? It almost looks like it might fit a 64-5 Chevelle, but not quite.
  22. As there some people on here who have a vast knowledge of tooling and history for old companies, I'm wondering if anyone knows if any tooling for the old Aurora 1/32 hot rod kits are still around. I remember there being some cool little kits. If you can find any, they seem to go for ridiculous prices. Is there any chance we will ever see these kits re-released?
  23. As a signpainter/custom painter for over 40 years, I've used Badgers, Paasches, Devilbiss, Iwatas, and a few no name airbrushes. I've never had a problem with pulsing. I've done airbrushed letters as larges as 24" with the brush running wide open with no problems. The compressor the OP is looking at is on demand so there is always pressure in the line, that kills the idea of it spiking. What is the difference if the air is on hold in a tank or in an airline? If you are having problems with your compressor pulsing, you either have a junk or worn out compressor, or possibly the reed valve or diaphragm is dirty or worn out, or possibly you have a leak somewhere. I see absolutely no need for a tank other than if the compressor kicking on and off as you use it annoys you.
