  1. I forgot about the moisture trap. You will also want another length of hose, you don't want to mount the trap right at or close to the compressor as the air wont have time to cool so the moisture in the air will pass right though the trap and condense in the line or airbrush. Nothing worse than getting the perfect paintjob get ruined by a spit of water. You want to run a length of hose to the trap and then another hose to the airbrush, You can get a small trap with a regulator for about $20-25
  2. Not in my opinion. Did it go from an SS engine, transmission, chassis, and suspension to a Camaro engine, transmission, chassis and suspension. No it did not, in fact it doesn't even have Camaro body parts, they are all handmade somewhat replicas of Camaro sheetmetal. I grew up going to a local dirt track, Many cars went from coupe and sedan bodies to Pintos, Vegas, Corvairs, Falcons, Mustangs. etc. At this time you might have seen the exact same car that was a coupe and a few weeks later it was a Falcon. Did that make it a new car? Nope, just new sheetmetal. If a funny car blows the body apart and it was a Camaro bodied car, and borrows a Mustang body for the next race, is it a new car?
  3. Something not many people think about, lube. It's not necessary, but it will make an airbrush work and stay working very smoothly. I would avoid a HF compressor, they might work for a while, but what happens when you need to replace a part? Look on ebay for a compressor, I bought two on there very cheap, one was brand new and one had abut 15 minutes of use, both were way less than $100. You don't need any special tools to clean an airbrush, acid brushes, rags and pipe cleaners will do the job just fine.
  4. I'm not stupid I understand the body panels are different and at speed they will act differently. It's just all the talk of a new car everywhere, it's not a new car it's a few body panels. It's not like they went to an independent rear and strut front suspension or something like that.
  5. A 33 Willys with a full set of fenders
  6. People can spin it anyway they want, it's not a new car it's a couple of new body panels.
  7. I don't get all this talk of a new car, isn't it just a new body? And even then it's just a new nose and doors and tail. Aren't the roofs and quarters the same on all of the cars?
  8. I find it hard to believe (but it's not impossible) that JJ would not try for #8. Granted they have been off lately, but he's had late starts in the past and came on strong at the end of the season. Add to that you only need one win to make the stupid chase and the rest is almost as much luck as it is car and skill and he becomes 8 time, then for sure he retires. I'm sure Hendrick could get a new name for a fraction of Jimmies salary, plus if you want new talent, now is the time to get that driver behind the wheel as he/she can learn along with the other new drivers and not playing catch up. We all know it's all about the money in Nascar, not the racing.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an old fuddy duddy (I'm just old!) who thinks anything modern sucks. I love the new Corvette, it's that widebody kit that doesn't look like it was designed for the Vette. It doesn't do anything to follow the lines of it or enhance the looks, but I'm sure it is very aerodynamic. The back half of the wheel arches ruin the look of the car. This is why I said aero makes just about any new race car ugly to me.
  10. Is the Outlaw racing on a banked Dragstrip?
  11. If Snake passes on it, I'll take one.
  12. Has Jimmie ever had another main sponsor in cup?
  13. Jeeze John, your model looks way better than the real thing!
  14. Well now I can just look to see what one I can find cheapest. Thank you guys.
  15. I hear that! I look forward to seeing it done. I think a plain hood would look better, but it isn't my model. I'm sure whatever you do will look good..
  16. Enough with the hijacking of your thread, let's get back to your build. Does your hood open or are you building it without an engine?
  17. I found it, but one a pillar is broken. then again I'm used to fixing them about a dozen times on a build like this. I don't think I have the glass for it. I'll have to look at the pics on my other computer to see what I had for it.
  18. Paint Shop Pro here too. You can find copies cheap and it's easy to learn. If you get a copy and need help, PM me. I'm not an expert by far, but I know enough to get you through this. That is unless the newest versions are far different from mine which is 10 or 11.
  19. OK who's got the headlights?
  20. It's weird you say that, I have a MM I started and never liked my headlight idea (I'm jealous of Pats grill and lights). I pass a Riv with the hidden headlights on the way to a friends house and said to myself they would be perfect on a MM.
  21. It'll be nice to see this finished, I love seeing some of these show rods unuglified!
  22. I almost forgot one. My favorite kit of all time is the Silhouette. I made one into a boat last year and started to modify the trailer for it. I've always wanted to make a truck out of one and finally figured out how to do it. The body has been raised by adding 3/16" to both the top and bottom, the back is the taillight panel from a Deora, the center of the front is actually the back of the Silhouette. I plan to make it rear engined. The trailer has been stretched using two for the bottom half and Evergreen sheet on the top half, the fenders are scratchbuilt and the frame is made out of Evergreen rectangle rod. I filled the wheelwells and made a tunnel for the bottom of the boat along with cutting the center of the front to make the picklefork, the outboard is a resin piece I found on ebay.
