  1. It's amazing how many cars I've learned about on this site. This is a great subject and you did a fantastic job building it. It must be very rewarding to tell people you not only built it, but that you designed the files needed to make it.
  2. I want to build a custom 59 Caddy sedan delivery and was wondering which kit had the better chassis plate and suspension. If anyone has pics of the underside of the AMT and Polar Lights kit that would help. Thank you.
  3. Well it didn't take long to ID the Scrambler. Yup, still got all my fingers. Yes the tail end of the Impala is a bit heavy, I usually like my rockers on the ground, but that really made it too heavy. If I raise the back up a bit exposing more of the wheel and tire it helps. It was a lot of work getting the back window done so I'm leaving it, I might try to extend the rear side windows a bit more to lighten it up a little. Still using the same saw blade and it would help if I could find my P.E. saws and my panel line tool. Thank you for all the nice comments guys, it does feel good to be building again.
  4. That Palmer Vette looks like a small detuned VaVaVette. It would make for the start of a good cartoon build, what scale is it?
  5. I originally thought this was way too long for that little bubble. Boy was I wrong! I guess I should've known better, all of your projects break the "Cool Meter"
  6. About a year ago, I decided to clean up my workspace. I hate cleaning, so I just threw all my tools and stuff in boxes and now I don't know where anything is. it's not cold in my basement but cool enough that I didn't feel like looking and setting my desk back up for models, I got the bug about a month or two ago to work on something. These are a few of my recent victims, whether any of them will get finished is another story. 911 Turbo. Chopped, reworked the nose and tail to unclutter them and smooth them out. 66 Mustang GT. Chopped, removed B pillars, raised wheelwells, shortened rear 1/4", shortened nose 1/8", Side scoops deepened and opened. Plymouth Prowler. 36 Ford roof (thanks to Dr. Kerry), filled headlight panels, removed rear fenders, moved front suspension forward, reworked the flared bottom of body to tuck it in, full underbody pan. 70 Impala. Reworked roof to make a fastback, rear side windows reshaped, rear window made taller. 63 Cobra. Tapered narrowing of the body, wheelwells filled, wedge extension of the body to make the back taller. 33 Willys S.D. Top wedge sectioned, back wedge shortened, fenders raised, fronts reshaped, rears widened and extended. 5? Ford Pick Up. Front fenders raised to level out the hump of the hood, bed made from nose of another Pick Up. Let's see who can recognize this one. Rear wheelwells moved forward 5/16" then widened 3/16" Front wheelwells moved forward 3/16", angle chop, reworked tailight panel, reworked grille and headlights, scratch built teardrop hood scoop.
  7. You are crazy Pat! It's nice to see you back at it. BTW nice work on this.
  8. Good info, thanks. The problem is, I would probably like to build the Vicky! I did say earlier that the price they would have to sell a pack like I suggested would make it a non seller if for a few bucks more you could have a whole kit.
  9. Quoted from the comments on the kit you suggested to get for the suspension pieces. " I built this in 2 Days even with painting it. there is no motor to put together or suspension. this would be a great model for a beginner. " Why bother to suggest a kit to use for parts if you don't have a clue as to what it contains?
  10. Not necessarily for pro street, these could be used for a variety of cars. I have no interest in old chrome frames, they are easy to build. Building suspension components are a PITA, so having parts to use without sacrificing a whole kit, would be nice. But I doubt there are enough people who would buy such a pack, beside the fact that the cost would probably not be low enough to make it worth while to buy over sacrificing a kit and having other left over parts for a few bucks more.
  11. It's pretty ugly if you ask me, but then again I think aerodynamics make most cars ugly.
  12. I don't think it would be profitable, but I would love to see a suspension pack. Tubular upper and lower A arms with airbags and/or struts for the front. A complete independent rear suspension with bags and coilovers, and 4 link setup for a solid axle with both a panhard and wishbone. I can dream, can't I?
  13. We have a winner!!! It's something I could sure use and would buy. I was watching an ebay auction of various headlight lenses. It was only a few bucks and I was pretty mad at myself when I forgot to do a last minute bid. I looked in my saved list and it sold for $15 and change.
  14. My LFS is well stocked on kits, not much on aftermarket stuff, but everything is list price. I buy all my Evergreen from them and got a couple of deals on some old resin bodies. I have two Hobby Lobbys near me and I get new kits and casting supplies with coupons. Aftermarket is all online. Most of the kits in my stash are from flea markets and shows.
  15. Thank you gentlemen. I'm going to use a mount like the one in the Ferrari pic.
  16. I made a fantasy boxer engine from the engine out of a Jo-Han Scrambler kit. Do boxer engines usually have a common location for engine mounts, if so where would they be?
  17. Does Jimmy Flintstone actually make masters himself, or does he just make the molds and cast from other people's masters?
  18. I haven't read everything in here, so this might not be relevant and if so I apologize. Maybe a service like this might be useful to you Bernard. https://www.ignitiondrawing.com/home
  19. I just read it and it had obviously run off subject with talk of radios, potatoes, and such. I'm sure if it had stayed on subject it would still be up.
  20. Nice job, I love what you did with it. Your interior really came out nice. I have one I started a while back mixed with a 53 Vette. This might give me the ambition to drag mine back out.
  21. That is a GREAT idea!
