Got the U.S release, and it only had the driver side a pillar bent a little. It was an easy fix though. From what I seen among the parts there's going to be another copy of this car fairly soon! There are large wheel's attached to the tree that has the stock wheel backs, and custom rear axle as well included in this kit. Not to mention the drop top boot cover from the Convertible kit. So i'm thinking a California wheels 2n'1 copy will be around soon.,,,, Pardon the blue paint on one of the Big wheel's , the piece that is in the center of the front grill is also on this tree so......................

International Harvester Transtar 4070 A #10...
ranma replied to ranma's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Complaint's there are only three that I have really. First is the frame length, which is an easy fix. Second complaint is the "new" sprew tabs which go further onto some of the parts, which has more cleanup work than an Original kit did, Complaint three: AMT screwed up when moving the parts around so a few numbers on the instruction sheet are now wrong such as the frame part numbers which now are switched. Frame part # 49 is now #7, and vice-versa for the other frame rail. I like the extended decal sheet, and the addition of the choice of front wheels. The biggest change When following the instructions that I do is I build the and add the cab interior to the outer cab before adding it to the frame, I add the radiator after the cab is put in place. I found It's easier this way then trying to put the outer cab on while the interior is attached to the frame! By adding the completed cab (minus some of the Chrome cab parts) to the frame this way would actually be more inline as to the actual production with the exception of the radiator would be in place on the real one before the cab would be installed on the frame. I also don't attach the front axle until the cab/radiator are in place. as it ease's the installation of the cab to the frame. Since all that's needed to put the cab on the frame this way is squeezing the frame a tad to get the cab pins in their location on the frame. Then I add the radiator, and the front axle... The cab pictures added here are of Transtar #9 when it was in it's build process. I had to wait for a frame rail replacement for the one it had was a short shot. But this should give you the idea of what I said by putting the cab together and not as the Instructions show. -

Anyone know Vic's resin?
ranma replied to Craig Irwin's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
A good friend of mine bought me a '58 Pontiac wagon from Vics, and it had some bad spots on it. So he wrote Vic's resin via ebay. While Vic's sent another body that also had some issues. When Vic's resin responeded to my friends email he was told that he don't cast anything he sell's they are all cast by different suppliers, and he sell's them. For the person who bought a '73 Impala from vic's Try red line resin as he makes not only the 73 but 71, 74 Impala/Caprice Plus a 71 and '72 Chevy wagon as well. I have bought several castings from red line resin without any issues from his castings.. -
I never use the tires from the Ex-Fall guy truck AKA the Deserter, because of the size always looked off to me on the pickup. Well those Desert dog tires do work good for the front wheels on an Ertl/AMT Paystar 5000! They just slide on as if they were made for the truck! This means that they more than likely will work on most AMT truck kit's as well.

Round2 is my peeve of the MONTH!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a Transtar 4070 a that had a short shot left side frame rail (Driver Side) which is part #49. I contacted Round 2 giving them all the needed info to get a replacement part. But for the THIRD time in a row they have sent me the RIGHT (PASSENGER SIDE frame rail) Part #7 This is even after I sent photo's of the parts that was sent and I took the pictures with the instruction sheet of the part that I need replaced! First set of photo's were sent before I got the third wrong part today which I just sent pictures of back to them today! What am I going to do with three right side frame rail's????????????????? I Got an email Back from them today that say's they were sending me the part that I asked for, and that the Instructions are wrong for the part numbers! Odd Those are copied from the Original 1973 Model kit, so Round2 must have switched the part numbers when they moved the parts to different trees when they made this New "re"Issue 4070 A......

US 127 Garage sales started today at the Van Wert Fair ground which had lots of vender's . I made one of the biggest scores there today! The two plastic containers cost me $100.00 But well worth the cost! The Plymouth Roadrunner/Dodge Monaco are going to a good Friend of mine. I have a lot of clean up work ahead of me not to mention what is complete and what will need parts to restore. The Billy Carter pickup is still factory sealed!

While the main US 127 Garage Sales start tomorrow there were some that started today. The AMT '59 Corvette (circa 1974) I paid $10.00 for along with the AMT '66 T-Bird which is also an earlier 1970's Issue. Then at a lot where there were several vendors I Bought four "promo" type AMT Ertl Models. Black 1990's Chevrolet Blazer, Tahoe, Corvette, and extended Cab Ford F-150 for $1.00 each. The International pickup was found at another vendor at the same Location. I was surprised to find it, and for as cheap as it was $10.00 The Standard International Harvester Pickup Won't be up for trade Since I collect IH Trucks/scout's in Model form....

The singer/actor who went by the stage name Meat Loaf passed away at the age of 74. His two biggest selling albums were Bat out of hell, and bat out of hell 2. He also played the bad guy Red in the Movie Blackdog, and of course Eddie in the Rocky Horror Picture show.................

A good friend of mine bought and had it sent from resin model ranch. it's mocked up at this time as It still needs parts from an AMT '64 Olds to complete it.

I would actually rather see a truck that Coca Cola actually used such as The International S-Series trucks. Seen those everywhere in the 1980's and 90's

1963 Nova wagon w/ U-Haul trailer*** U-HAUL trailer updated***
ranma replied to ranma's topic in Model Cars
Made the U-Haul decals myself. I used part of the white stripe decals that came in the Transtar 4070 a kit. Cut and shaped to size then ultra fine sharpie markers to do the logo & lettering... -
I bought the kit as a christmas gift for myself. This is the second Nova wagon I've done in this color combo, as first one was given to a Nephew of mine. The U-Haul trailer is corrected to look more like an actual U-Haul trailer from that time period. Still have to find period correct U-Haul decals for the trailer. Photo's were taken inside due to being windy and cold..
