  1. Krylon short cut comes in smaller cans than the regular Krylon does. They are the same size as Testor's spray cans. Funny how certain paints will work for one person but not another isn't it.
  2. Thank you. I rather use Krylon short cut's paints, and even though they don't have as many colors that Testor's has Krylon seems to be better quality wise. Krylon short cuts also seems to play well with most other paints. Such as Dupli color, and Testor's . Not to mention it's cheaper than a can of Testor's spray paint's , and I have not had a bad can from Krylon like I have had from Testors!
  3. Thanks! Makes me wish I would have shortened the frame on the Orange w/white, and the White w/blue copies. I firmly think that the truck looks better with the fame shortened. In all I have three of the Original Ertl issued 4070 A's , and Four of the AMT issued 4070 a's ..
  4. I want to thank all those who took the time to post a kind comment. Thanks again!
  5. According to Hot Wheel's collectors news (1997) the 1/24 was around $15.00
  6. I got this '51 Chevy kit from a good friend who bought it for me off ebay so I could use the inline 6 in a Revell '54 Chevy sedan kit I picked up a few weeks ago. I am building the '54 into a Factory stock copy for my 30 years of Chevrolet collection.. I included two photo's of the '54 that I'm converting back to stock as well
  7. The Jaguar and the '57 Chevy are franklin mint cars. Noticed the mint tag still attached the the '57 Chevy.
  8. Not to change the subject, But has any of you other "guy's" noticed how the Toy area has shrunk Mainly in Boy's toy's isle?? Plenty of area for doll's and other girl toy's. Even the die Cast selection are is becoming smaller in Our wal mart. As for the girls toys they get three isle's of items. Boy's is just 1 1/2 Isle of toys The Isle at Our local wal mart main boys Isle has Hot wheels ect die cast, some boys lego sets, wwe items, star wars figures, and some other toy's The other 1/2 an isle is RC toys from New Bright. That's the sum total of boys items.
  9. I don't think the Olds on ebay is the same as the OP. After he answered what the casting included the hood, light's were all listed as seperate from the rest of the car. The ebay olds has the hood casted closed. Also note that the Op's master was most likely made from the Revell 83-85 Olds kit. The body lines of the op's is vastly different than the ebay seller has.
  10. Thanks, I go for the Factory color choices that was around back in 1973. BTW 1973 was actually the last year for the Transtar 4070 A. The Transtar II replaced it for 1974 until the 1980's when International brought out the 9600 (9670 Ect) series of cab overs.
  11. Yes. That's when I can find a set for a '72 Chevy Pickup. Poverty cap's that is.
  12. A friend of mine sent me a copy of the racer's wedge '72 Chevrolet pickup kit. Being that I am quite partial to stock that's how I built this Two tone '72 Chevrolet pickup. Two things were switched out first I changed it to a bench seat in the cab, and second was putting a '67 Impala's engine in the engine bay. I also added an mirror inside of the cab as well.
  13. Yep I caught that issue with headlight when I posted the photo's. After seeing that I fixed that headlight. As I stated before I should have shorten the frame on the Other three 4070 A's that I built.
  14. Not sure if they were deflectors or Cab grab bars to help ease the use of just using the chrome ones on the front. I did add those after the photo's were posted though.
  15. US 127 Garage Sale ... Van Wert Co. Fairgrounds, Jr Fair Bld. I talked the price down from $50 to $25.00 There was another vendor that had bunches of kit's I bought two from that seller. One was $18.00 the other was $16.00 ..... The $18.00 one is a Revell (Hot Rod Mag) '54 Chevy sedan, which I'll make close to stock with the help of a AMT '51 Chevy kit. The $16.00 is the first issue Monogram '64 Pontiac GTO (1984)..
  16. May she rest in peace...
  17. ThankYou! I wished I would have been smart and done the same to the other three! For some reason the out of the box frame looks way to long to my eyes. The frame on this copy looks more like I think what the kit should have been done as.
  18. On Thursday August 5,2021 I found a lonely Johan '62 Rambler American Convertible, and I bought the built (non Painted). The kit had the custom tail lights installed and was set at it's lowest set holes making the car very low riding . The car came with all the rest of the stock and custom parts as well. I liked the show 3rd rock from the sun, and I knew that the Solomon Family drove a rambler. I couldn't remember what year the car was, and so I did a internet search to find out it was the same as the Johan kit I just bought. So I took the car apart replacing any custom parts with stock ones, then Painted the car red. I added the white after the paint dried which actually are decals that came in an AMT Transtar 4070 a. It's not perfect but That happens sometimes.
  19. Passenger headlight was fixed, I didn't notice that it came loose till I posted the photo's.
  20. Before I go any further . Yes this is the Fourth Transtar 4070 A's from the AMT copy. I shortened the frame First cuts of the frame was just behind the rear fuel tank mounts, and the second cuts were in front of the first set of drive wheel's. I decided to use the front chrome wheel's that came in the kit, and added the Chrome rear set from a Transtar 4300 kit. Other items from the 4300 kit are: CB and CB antenna's , flap guard at the front of the drive wheels. The paint is Krylon shortcuts yellow, Krylon short cuts red (engine), and Krylon black... Interior Paint is Testors Model masters spray Tan color
  21. Yes They do work on the '84 GMC. But I made mine an '84 Chevy with the chevy grill from Iceman's collections..
  22. You more than likely paid a high price for that '72 Impala. I'd like to have one in my 30 years of Chevrolet Collection, But They seem to be out of my price range.
  23. From the Tech sheet that comes with the kit I'd say it either 160" or 184" it has the 83" cab that's the only I know for sure otherwise. Since theres a good distance between the fuel tank and rear axles I'd be more apt to say it's 184" with a OAL 261" from bumper to tail end.
  24. Thanks to all who has made positive comments on this build! I found that using sharpie ultra fine tip Markers make easy and quick work of the dash gages. Plus putting the IH logo in the center hub of the steering wheel. I use these markers quite a bit for the small area's on car kit's such as side marker lights ect.
