  1. Actually, it does, I maintain my cars with proper maintance, I don't abuse my cars either. Beside my Dad always had gm cars. and he never had issues with any of them. I recall the 78 Dodge pickup he bought caused more trouble and cost him more money than any of the GM products that he owned! The manifold cracked three different times on that dodge truck Dodge put to small of a radiator in the thing, plus when it got damp or cold out it wouldn't start. He instilled in me that If you take care of your car It will take care of you. BTW he bought a Mercury Metor new and it was in the shop more than he ever dove it. he bought the 71 Catalina wagon new, it was still going strong when he sold it in 1978! and we had the grand safari wagon from 77-89. and it had over 300,000 miles on it when he sold it and it was still going strong as well. He bought an 86 Celebrity new and had it till 2002. It was still running when he sold it.
  2. Most were used cars, but the 84 new port I got in 87 didn't even have it a year! as with the Omni it was less than a year after buying it Used. But as I say they were all Used but New cars to me. I never owned one like it before that is. My Corsica has had the Computer replaced, that cost less than 80.00 Not bad for a computer to last that long, the starter again it was the factory part, and the heater core replaced. But the car has never left me on the side of the road! GM's problems will end and then some other automaker's will start. from Ford to Toyota back to ford and on to GM. Intresting fact The For pinto 1971-1980 had 27 deaths related to the gas tank fire's That makes GM"s 13 look better.
  3. I placed this on revell's share your dream, If any fellow model truck builders will vote for this IH 9670 to be produced in 1/25 kit form, Maybe Revell will produce it.
  4. BTW, Iv'e owned Chevrolet's, Pontiac's, Oldsmobiles, Buick's, Dodge's Chrysler's and ford's and a mazda pickup. none of the Chevy's ,oldsmobile's left me stranded on the side of the highway as the 3 ford's I had, or the four dodge products I had. 2 tempo's that either the front drive system went out or engine failure. 2 dodge caravan the drive train busted on . a Newport that the Transmission self destructed on and a Omni that the front coil spring busted and tore the heck out of the car. One buick Centruy that the time belt went out on (zero tolerance engine) on that one. I bought an 88 celebrity for $300.00 and it lasted four years and had over 300,00 miles on it. traded it and got my 91 Corsica . that had only 67,000 miles on it. (I bought the celebrity in 2009 and the Corsica which replaced it in 2013.
  5. Maybe because GM makes more and sales more cars than Ford. even if it was the last century Ford had it's troubles in the 70's My aunt told me about a Ford she had bought new and within the first two years the steering wheel cumbled apart!, ford also still has problems popping up on the ECO-Burst(Boost) engine's.
  6. Need to see the US recall news dated December 18,2013! between 2005 &2009 For recalled 14 million cars and trucks. and if you read this it shows that ford much like GM made bad choices! and don't think that Honda ,Toyota are amune to this because they aren't!
  7. The only decal used on this truck is a red pinstripe at the bottom of the white stripe. I added a fire exstingisher to the inside of the sleeper inside the lower compartment. I'll post a picture of that later.
  8. For those of you Bashing GM The latest top 10 unreliable used cars List is online now and there isn't a GM product listed! Kia,VW, Mini Copper are on the list. as are Mazda, Subaru , jag, Smart car, and Land rover. This just proves that GM is not alone in all of this. Don't anyone rember the PINTO? Or Ford frame rot problems of the 70's? My cousin had a 73 ford pickup that he had to junk due to the frame being so rotted and that was in 1979! when I was in auto tech in High school we had a nice looking 64 ford donated to our school The reason was frame had rotted out but the body didn't. That car was cut up for scrap! If you look it up online Ford has had just as many recall's in recent years, and on you tube there's a video of a 2012 ford Flex with a engine rattle noise. You can really here it rattle badly.
  9. This is my most recent build of the 7Th Transtar 4300 to be added to my collection.
  10. The recall Problems aren't just GM"S cars But if you would look on line Ford has recalled a lot of different cars and trucks as well as has Toyota and Chrysler. Now it's just my Opinion here but when parts are made in China what do you expect? They poisoned Pet food, Put lead paint on toys, and Now the U.S.. is going to send Chicken to be processed there to? Beware of those Mc Nuggets they maybe coming from china!
  11. It would be better If round2 would produce a few modern trailers as well as the reissue's that they are putting out. Such as a modern auto carrier, grain, lowboy, flat bed with adjustable rear wheel axles, livestock, milk, ect. some with those aerodynamic skirts under the trailer such as dry good's and refidgerated trailers now have.
  12. The truck resin section is not loading pictures
  13. I'll post the pictures soon of this resin body eventhough the body is incorrect as a delivery it does build into a decent kit given that you'll have to rework a monogram 60 impala parts to fit correctly. I had to trim the top of the door panels off and trim the chassie side overhangs to get a proper fit. other than that the monogram parts fit well, to correctly do the rear tail light area you'll need three of the tail light's as the Wagon had a strait across tail light Chrome. So to do this correctly you'll need to cut both tail light chrome parts at the drop point's the third Chrome tail light cuts cut in the same mannor . Also the 60 chevy wagon has only four tail lights so the third rings need trimmed out on both tail lights the third Chrome piece will need two rings removed and cut between the the first and second light ring (the ring on the outside) this will make the third piece of chrome rectangle shaped thus making the rear chrome tail light bar strait.
  14. I agree with you Harry, Just think what's to stop the computer system that drives that car from getting Hacked. Just another way the someone can kill people not to mention progaming the darn thing to deliver thing's that go BOOM. No thank you I'd rather drive than let a car do so. It's just a bad idea more so these days with groups like al kidia
  15. Here are two more Pictures. car need's the Chrome parts as it didn't come with them. Back tires and axle expected to come soon in the mail. the body before primer and blue paint.
  16. I also would like to thank Impcon for tradeing with me your a stand up man. and a real pleasure to trade with my friend. Without him I wouldn't have the two 69 GTO's.
  17. Same back to you Vince, and Thank's again For the Ambulance kit glad to know the 69 went to a good home.
  18. Going with a rare color again this time blue. Interior as it is now. (molded in white) The stretcher blanket is to painted toilet paper.
  19. according to what I found it would be Orange.
  20. Last of the pictures for the ambulance.
  21. A few more pictures of the trailer and one with the truck that will be pulling it.
  22. First two pictures more to be posted later. as PORKY PIG WOULD SAY " That's All Folk's"
  23. I won't recommend this resin body as it is not very workable, I ended up completely having to graft a AMT 70 chevelle to it for The Chevelle parts to work correctly. As I was trying to remove un-needed resin behind the head light insert's they broke off the headlight hold's also the hood didn't fit correctly either, and the windshield is another matter to deal with. The suggestion of using a 68 El Camino kit to complete is COMPLETELY WRONG!
  24. If anyone happend to get the 70 El Camino this is to let you and everyone else know that the AMT 68 El Camino parts will not work with this resin body! I found this out after I got it in a trade deal. It will require a AMT 70 Chevelle as My 69 Chevelle Convertible chassie proves!
  25. No she had a coupe one with a trunk. it was silver with a purplelish interior. Funny thing about it is when she traded the Ventura in she noted it had a full size spare, and by golly she wasn't buying the J2000 without it having a full size spare tire! Needless to say the Pontiac dealer wanted to make the sale so they took out the compact spare and gave her a full size tire in it's place! It still makes me laugh even though it happened back in 1982! she passed away in 2001 with parkinsons .
