  1. Thank you Tom for the nice comments on my paint work. If anyone wants to learn the easy process, let me know and I'll walk you through it. Al
  2. I agree with Harry, Beautiful!!!
  3. Very nicely done!!! Great color! What is it?
  4. Looks great to me!!!
  5. Mike, My next project which almost done, Just waiting for new chrome bumpers from The Modelhaus which will be delivered tomorrow, is restoring a 1960 Mercury Park Lane. Stay tuned. Al
  6. I don't what to tell you Harry, Tamiya sprays dry to touch in 4 minutes and to polish in 10. Testors Lacquers are about 20 minutes to polish. It takes a little longer for Testors because of the clear coat. Remember I paint all coats within 1 minute of each other, including the clear. I also paint outside and wind dry it. Works for me. Al
  7. Thanks Lee. It's a Johan Studebaker Lark Converible Snap-Kit. Kit # CS-507
  8. Beautiful as always Carl. Love the color and finish.
  9. Tom, I'll be there. Thanks guys for the nice comments. Al
  10. I was starting this one yesterday morning at 8:00 am when NTS posted his incredible Lark & Chris Craft, but it didn't discourage me from completing this at 5:00 last night. I painted this in Tamiya's Coral Blue (no clear) with a Testor's darker teal interior with black inserts, Tamiya's primer white top cover and of course the windshield was sprayed 3 very light coat of Tamiya's clear blue. All paint was done out of the can. 10 minutes after painting, I polished the body using Novas #2 and then The Treatment model car wax. This a nice vintage snap kit for only having 32 parts. Thanks for looking. Al
  11. My wife and I have a 99 Continental with 226,000 miles. My wife has a 2014 MKZ Hybrid coming and won't sell the Continental for anything. Great cars!!! I only build curbsides, so the chrome engine is still in the box.
  12. Beautiful builds. I just finished my 62 Lark Conv. without the boat. I'll be posting it later. Great job!!!!
  13. Thank you guys!!! The prices on these Renwal Revival series are crazy. I got this one for 60 bucks on ebay. There is a Stutz bidding right now for $79.00 and a Duesenberg for sale $230.00. If you really want one you need to watch the auctions sites. Anything under 80 bucks is a steal. Good hunting Al
  14. Jim that's Sweet
  15. Thanks guys. The Pantera is one great Ford. Ford is talking about a new Pantera in the near future. Here's a sample sent to me by a friend that works in Ford design.
  16. Beautiful Al. Love Johan Caddy's!!!
  17. Excellent build of one of the best looking sports cars of the 50's!!!
  18. I like the models look much better than this 90's version.
  19. Thanks for all the great compliments on my Packard. I did find another 1:1, the Bugatti.
  20. This was a design study by Virgil Exner of the the great cars of the 20's and 30's. A couple were produced in limited numbers. I beleave these were the Stutz, Mercer, Bugatti, all I can find are pictures of show cars. Other cars in the Renwal series were the Duesenberg, Mercer, Stutz, Jordan Playboy, Bugatti, Pierce Arrow and the Packard. I hope this explains in little. Al
  21. This a model I've been looking for since I was a kid. This Renwal was a mint in box and all parts still in plastic bags with inspection cards from 1966. My motto is it's a kit, build it. The Packard was built box stock and painted in Testors Lacquers and a masking tape black vinyl top. These kits were never known as great fitting kit, but it's much easier with instant glue. A very expensive vintage kit that I'm glad I had the opportunity to build. Hope you enjoy it. Al I changed the black top to a green vinyl top. Using Frog tape, the green color of the tape is very close to the upper body color. I think the black top was to harsh for the overall look. Al
  22. Harry & Danno, I really need to read your comments more closely. My thought I was nuts when I was putting Armour All on my tires and she said it says black wash. Idiot Now the the tires are shiney and the wheels are black washed. Look better?
  23. Love it Bruce. Goes perfectly along side mine.
  24. Thanks guys. Had a chance to buy one in yellow in 82 for $9,400., but bought a new 83 Mustang GT conv. instead. Sometimes I just did the wrong thing. Al
