  1. This one came in the mail yesterday. It was a gold promo that need to be restored. I thought Testor's Root Beer would be the perfect color. I also added 4 coats of Testor's Wet Look Clear. Also tinted the windows with Tamiya's Clear Blue. BMF and The Detailer Black Wash to complete the look. Hope you like it. Al
  2. Thanks everyone. I've been wanting a model of this one since I was a kid. Without the bull horns on the hood
  3. Thank you guys!!! I've been watching the auction and swap meets and there was no way I could afford a $175.00 Imperial. When I saw that the Modelhaus had this on for $92.00 and my wife wanted to get me a kit for my Birthday, It was a no brainer. Beautifully done Modelhaus. Al
  4. This is another one of my one day builds. This started out as a Modelhaus 65 Imperial that I received on friday. The car was soaked overnight in Purple Power as soon as it arrived. Next it was primed using Dupli-Color Gray sandable primer. The body was then painted with 4 coats of Dulpi-Color med. grey metallic and 4 coats of Testors wet look clear. The glass was painted with a light coat Tamiya's clear blue. The interior was painted Krylon burgandy. The vinyl top was done with a Super Sharpie. It was a very enjoyable build. Let me know what you think AL
  5. Ken, if you get any some small wrinkles in the From Tape, just brandish them out with a tooth pic. Thank you Eric for the nice comment. Al
  6. Thanks Lee, Jim and Carl. This was a fun build and the vinyl top just gave it that little something different. Al
  7. Gorges, I like the coupe look and great idea using the rust-oleum.
  8. Excellent Build!!!
  9. Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Ken if you use Frog Tape it's green sold at Home Depot. It's more flexible than the blue or other masking tapes, doing contours with Frog Tape is made easy and all paint cover very well. Hope this helps. Al
  10. When I was in high school, there were two brother who each had 69 Nova SS's. One was black and the other was red with a black vinyl top. So here's my rendition of the red one. Paint is Tamiya Italian Red, no clear coat, Tamiya Clear Blue window tint and the vinyl top is masking tape painted semi gloss black and BMF. The only thing I don't like are the Firestone RWL tires, they should be Goodyear's, but I didn't have any. Oh well Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking. Al
  11. Beautifully done!!!
  12. Beautiful Build!!! My dad had a 49 Ford Business Coupe, I wonder if this is your interpretation?

  18. Thanks again everyone. This color is starting to grow on me Al
  19. Beautiful!!! White is on of the hardest colors to paint and yours came out great!!!
  20. beautiful build. Excellent kit.
  21. Thanks for the pictures Kevin. My model looks lighter because the photo's were talken in the sun. It's actually pretty close, especially since I used rattle cans to paint it.
  22. I didn't know that either Carl. But according to Ford Salmon Color was the least sold color for the 64 T Bird. Who knew
  23. Thanks guys. I wanted to paint it one of the rarer colors and according to a Thunderbird web site, this is the rarest. Al
  24. This started out as a original AMT 64 kit that I purchased on ebay. I primed the body in Tamiya's Maroon and sprayed Tamiya's Flesh Flat to match the T Bird Samoan Coral pain and then 4 coats of Testors Wet Look Clear. The kit I purchase came with all new chrome by the Modelhaus. The interior was paint Tamiya's White Primer with black carpeting and BMF accents. I'm a collector of vintage kits and I build them. Let me know what you think. Al
