  1. I spray it thru a Harbor Freight cheap 19 dollar airbrush. I put a small amount of the pearl powder in Future and spray with 18 pounds of air and I've had no problems. No need to thin it either because Future is already thin enough. I have pictures of models that I've painted with it if you would like to see them. Dan
  2. Virgil, why do you say that Future is not a good clear coat? That's all I use for clear coating and I've also mixed it with Pearl-X powders and have had no problems what so ever. Dan
  3. She is finished. Here are the pics. Moderators can move this to the proper thread now ifin ya like. Thanks fer lookin guys. Dan
  4. Update this mornin. Almost finished and I think it looks perty good for an old fart. Here are some pics of what she looks like so far. I hope you like 'er. There are more pics in my photobucket ifin you'd like to take a gander. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  5. Micheal's craft stores caries it also. Dan
  6. Great build so far Curt. Those louvers look like the ones that came in the 32 Fords back in the day or any of the custom parts that used to come in some of the AMT kits. Dan
  7. Yeah, what Donn said. I mix the pearls in clear only. I tried mixing them in the color and it doesn't work like said previously. Dan
  8. Thanks guys. Here are a couple of pictures of the BMF. I'm done with that and it wasn't to bad of a deal this time. I have the glass installed now and I'm letting that set up until tomorrow and I'll get 'er done. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  9. Thanks Ken. I'm installing the BMF on it now and it's going very well for BMFing (a new word) that is. I'll try and get more pics up later tonight. Dan
  10. Thanks guys. This one isn't going to be exactly factory stock. I'm not using the rear bumper on this build. I'm using the roll pan from the kit and the custom taillight. This is supposed to represent one that is a few years old and has had a new paint job, updated engine and the next thing is to get the interior re-done. I tried to make the rear shelf look like it is sun bleached and worn a little by how it looks in the one picture. I now have to install the BMF and I'm really looking forward to that Dan
  11. Thanks to Ian (Imatt88), I can now finish this Pontiac. I started to build this back in 1965 when I was 18 years old. For some reason I put this back in the box and it staid there until now. When I started this I didn't know that the glass in the kit was the wrong glass. It was for the '64 Grand Prix. Well this is where Ian helped out. He needed the '64 glass and I needed the '65 glass and we traded. Well, here are some pics of where I'm at now. I'm having fun with this build. Dan
  12. I use Future by itself. I don't thin it. Just spray it straight from the bottle. Dan
  13. I've used it a few time and like it very much. I painted a 50 Ford custom truck, a Corsair airplane, a Sea Fury race plane and many land speed cars with it and they all turned out good (to my eyes anyway). I used it in Future floor polish and Testors clear and also mixed it in the paint and sprayed it. I have pics in my photobucket of the builds if you're interested or I could post some here if you like. Dan
  14. I love it. Great job David. The color just right. Dan
  15. Boy, this topic has little a-Peal to me, I'll tell ya. Dan
  16. Here is the only model car that I have that I brush painted. Now I did paint my models by brush way back in the late 50's and early 60's but this one was in the 80's I believe. It is the only one that I have now that is brush painted. Dan
  17. Well, I don't have much in the way of trucks, but here is one with a scratch built rollback. I did lengthen the frame but I forget by how much. There are pictures in my photobucket showing how much though. Well here are a couple of pics of the truck. I found a pic of the frame. I'm kinda new at buildin trucks and I have a few more to build. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  18. Yep, see ya there. I'm gonna bed in a few minutes so I can get up at 5 in the morning. That's if I can sleep tonight. Dan
  19. One more wake up and it's Da Show of Shows, well, in my mind anyway. See ya there. Dan
  20. 99% of my paint I use is Testors 1/4 oz. enamels with an airbrush. I thin the paint with automotive enamel reducer and it dries to the touch in about 10-15 minutes. Dan
  21. We'll be lookin fer ya Dan. By the way, do you have any Jo-han 70 GTX or Road Runner parts cheap? I have two bodies that need parts. If not, that's Ok. We should have a great time again this year fer sure. Dan P.S. By the way, I like yer name.
  22. Nice GP Curtis. Looks like it has the right glass in it. I'm kinda bummed out because the glass in mine is wrong. I might try and make the windshield and rear glass, not sure yet. Dan Thanks Steve, I'll give that a try. Dan
  23. You're right Steve, it's the wrong windshield and rear window. I have no idea of what to do about that now. Bummer fer sure. Dan
  24. It is now one week away until the bestest show ever for the BSAC, so we are hoping to see all ya'll who care about model cars to be there. And, to have a bunch of fun fer sure. :) Dan
  25. Thanks Roger. I'm not building as factory stock. I am using the custom roll pan and tail light for the back but I'm using the stock front bumper/grill. It will be all black with the body chrome trim. I'm also using the stock engine with the three two barrels. Nothing to great just for the shelf. Steve, I forgot the question you asked and yes it is the "Grand Slam" kit. My Mom got this for me for either a birthday present or Christmas present, I don't remember which, it's been so long ago. Dan
