  1. Thanks guys. I think that I'm going to try and use some Alclad on the next ones that I do. I didn't have any Alclad when I originally posted this. Dan
  2. Yep, sure is the AMT kit. Look, no firewall. I have an original 63 with the screws in the bottom and it has the firewall. All of the re-issues didn't have this for some reason. I have a re-issued one and it has no firewall. I did make a resin copy of the one in the original kit and will use it when I build the newer one. Plus, the original had separate tail lights that are red. I will make copies of these and drill out the ones on the back of the re-issued one. Dan
  3. I've had mine for over 3 years now and have had no problems. I use it for all my painting even though I do have a Paasche V double action that's waiting it's turn. LOL. It's just like anything else, take care of it and you won't have any problems or at least minimal problems. Just my 2 cents. Dan
  4. I have the double action one and a Paasche VL. I use the Harbour Freight brush for all of my paint jobs. It works great. I haven't used my Paasche but only once since I got the Harbour Freight one. I've been using it for over a year now and have had no problems with it. Dan
  5. Uh Oh, I think that I just got meself in trouble with the wifie. See ya there.
  6. Thanky, thanky, thanky fer that intro Ron. I can't wait fer ya'll to see me. :D Just kidden guys. I was the first to answer this here post, so, I thought that I would clime on the wagon befo anyone else did. :D See ya there. Dan
  7. WOW, I've been making a lot of moe-bee-us's (?)fer many years and didn't even know it. LOL (cause I still can't use the emdoticons) I used to weld saw blades fer these huge band saws and some of them had moe-bee-us blades on them. They were either 1/2 or 3/4 blades that had a half twist in them that were double edged razor blades fer cutting foam. This way, the operators didn't have to change the blades when they got dull cause the blades were sharpened with grinders on the machines. A constant edge being sharpened until the blade was to small to be sharpened any more. These blades were very had to handle because of the twist in them and they were very sharp to begin with. I had to coil them and pack them in boxes to be shipped out. Who would of thought that moe-bee-us was in my background. Not me. LOL (again, no emoticons) LOL. Dan
  8. I thought that "Bashing" meant Bashing it against the wall when ya get ticked off at the model. I guess I was wrong huh? Oh well, back to building somethin. My Hudson is in line to get built fer sure. Me likie it. LOL (again). Dan
  9. Well, I love this kit so much that I would marry it if I wasn't already married. LOL (cause I can't use the emotocons for some reason). I can't even change the size of the letters here or use the bold thingy. Now that's something to worry about instead of the plastic model in my opinion. LOL again. Try and lighten up a little. Go build a model instead of complaining. Dan
  10. Well, one could paint one Green and have a "Green Hornet". LOL. Dan
  11. I got one last night at the hobby store that I go to and it is beautiful. Nice kit. There is a little clean up but what the hay, all kits have a little clean up of some kind. No biggie. It does remind me of when I was a kid and looking at the real car and thinking, Man this thing sure is ugly. LOL. I just wish there was a kit of the 56 Packard Executive so i could build a replica of my Dad's 56. Oh well, I'll build this car and like it no matter what. (Man, I wish we had the emotocons to put in here) Smiling as I write this. Dan
  12. Thanks Cole. That was a piece of work getting those two trucks to come together. This past weekend I got a 2nd place in my first ever contest other than our club contests, at Zanesville Ohio. I installed the Ford letters on the front panel just below the hood since the pictures that I posted in Photobucket. I'm looking forward to your build of this one. Dan
  13. This coming along nicely Cole. The cab looks very good to me. Well, so does the rest of the build. Keep it going. Dan
  14. WOW guys, I have had no problems using Testors decal paper. Now, I do use a Canon photo printer when I print on them. I don't know if that makes any difference or not. All I know is, I don't have any problems. I'll be glad to take the decal paper off your hands if you throw it out. Dan
  15. I found the problem. I am on aol and that's the problem. I went to Firefox and logged on to Photobucket and all's well. Dan
  16. Somethings wrong. I just came from there and I can't copy my own pictures. I am logged in and I also can't acess other albums that I have under the original album. I use Firefox also and I get updates on a regular bassis. Go figure. This was the same thing earlier today and I thought that I would log out and back on, but the same thing happened. Dan
  17. Great tip Chris. I'll do that myself. Leave it to Beaver to get ya there. LOL. Dan
  18. Way ta go Chris. Looks great. I like the red and white outfit also. LOL. Dan
  19. I use used dryer sheets. They're free after you use them in the dryer. Here are a couple of pics of what I used them on. Datsun truck hood. The underside of this Studebaker hood. This is how it looks on the car. How I did it was I used Elmer's glue to glue the sheet to the plastic and let it dry. I've since primed the hood and it looks like fiber glass to me. Hope this will help ya. Dan
  20. I use Testors over the decals but I do let the decals dry to the touch before I spray the sealer on. I've never had any problems this way. I also let the decals dry over night before I use them. I use a couple of light coats of sealer and then one heavy coat and let that dry. Dan
  21. I would like the 56 Packard Executive. The tail lights are already made and now we need the whole car made. Dan
  22. Ok, here's one that a young kid took his daddy's car out to the drags on the weekends. It's a 62 Buick Electra 225. He wrecked it and started installing used parts to fix it. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  23. "Elements of Style". I know what that is. It has something to do with how a model looks with what ever you use to change how it looks. Right? As fer spellin wurds write I do all the time in my book. So loosen up and enjoy the hobby. Quit comlpainin about the little stuf. Have fun dudes and wear's the moticons that you guys use? I kneed them bad. LOL. Have a nice day and build somethin enstead of complainin. Lt. Dayan
