  1. The gasser is sweet but the truck is outstanding.
  2. Very cool looking. Inside and out.
  3. Don't know how it looked before but it looks good now!
  4. Niko, your engine looks great. I'll be following this with interest as I've got a Thunderbolt kit and it's on my short list of kits to build. It seems you and your Dad enjoy the same subject matter as I. I recently finished a '62 Catalina (in Under Glass) and I've also done a '64 Dodge (AWB). I even have the same books as you. Thanks for sharing, KB.
  5. Holy cow! You guys are setting the bar pretty high. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Wow! That is stunning. I think I'd be happy too. How about some details on the paint job? Thanks, KB
  7. Tim, thanks for keeping this thread alive. I really enjoy seeing your builds of the older kits/cars.
  8. Somehow I missed this one until now. Very nice build and the paint is outstanding! The color combo and shine are excellent.
  9. Thanks for all the kind comments everybody. The magazine on the front seat is a photocopy of a Hot Rod mag from 1962. In it there is a full page ad for the '62 Catalina touting the various options available to everyman up to the ultimate - the 421 SD package.
  10. AMT '62 Catalina built pretty much out of the box except for the wheels, tires, and brakes which are from a Revell '32 Ford. This is a pretty well engineered kit which went together well. I had a little trouble with the final assembly but eventually it all went together. If accuracy is important to you, the paint detailing could be a bit of work. I tried to do the tri-color interior but didn't like the results. I did it over and settled for a two-tone which was good enough for me. Thanks for looking, KB
  11. Beautiful work. Looks great! Thanks for sharing.
  12. Looks really good to me! And I know how nice if feels to wrap up a long standing project.
  13. Very cool looking hot rod. Really nice!
  14. Not trying to hijack Mooneyzs thread or anything and many of you may already know of this, but on the Altered States website, can be found another useful reference chart. It shows which types of components, paint, etc. were used, by year, on 60's era dragsters. http://www.alteredstatesmodels.com/reference_page.htm
  15. Nice build of some great subject matter. Paint job looks great!
  16. Wicked looking ride. Very nice work.
  17. Looks great man. Nice photo work too.
  18. Here's my 'disposable' paint booth. When it gets dirty, I throw it away. Garage door is my ventilation. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
  19. Very nice work. Paint job looks perfect.
  20. Very nice. Brings back fond childhood memories as these were two of my all time favorites - both the models and the real cars. Don't know if you get the mag Elapsed Times down under but the latest issue has the restored Snake and Mongoose Funnies on the cover.
  21. Very nice. Thanks for posting.
  22. Nice work! Fiat bodied altereds can't help but look wicked.
  23. Looks good Bill! I love the 60's era stockers. I'm in the late stages of building the same kit and was wondering if you had any surprises during final assembly?
  24. True. It proves nothing other than the word cycle, for example, is used 146 times throughout all the forums. Statistics for each category (topics and replies) are listed on the main forum page.
  25. I don't know, but drag racing might just be the most popular genre in model building so having it's own category doesn't seem so farfetched. If you lump drag racing into one big competition category then, this forum will be just like that other forum.
