  1. I'm not sure how I missed this one. Very nice build sir. I love seeing all these older P/S cars being built up and shared.
  2. That looks really, really good. Congrats!
  3. Very nice work! Not sure what a shelf queen is though?
  4. Very nice work! It looks great.
  5. Bill, an AMT '70 Challenger R/T kit provided the chassis pan and interior tub. I don't think it's a recent kit but I'm not sure. It's kit #6466. The chassis width is perfect, the wheelbase good enough. I had to perform surgery to get some slicks in back and, up front, I had to do some mods so the headers would fit. Otherwise, it really is a hodgepodge of parts. While researching this project, I learned that most of the Mopar pro-stocks in '70 and '71 used the rear ends and leaf springs from their '68 Hemi Darts and Cudas so I did the same using parts from the Revell '68 Hemi Dart. The slicks are from a Polar Lights F/C and the wheels from a Revell '41 Willys gasser kit. The firewall and radiator crossmember are scratch built. I should mention that a forum member (sstacy47) made the intake manifold. His photos on photobucket are of poor quality but the parts he sent me are very nice.
  6. Thank you all very much for the positive comments! I consider them a fine reward for (finally) completing a project. KB
  7. Those both look great. The window trim looks really sharp. I don't think BMF was around back then - were you using silver paint?
  8. I know it's far from accurate, but here is my take on the '71 Challenger Motown Missile Pro Stocker. The body and seats are from Competition Resins, the hood scoop and wheelie bar assembly are scratch built and the hood pins are from Pro-Tech. Just about everything else is parts box salvage.
  9. I'm not sure how I missed this one until now. What a great model! It looks great. Nice work on the paint job too.
  10. Beautiful work Cruzer. I really like the engine detailing and you seem to have the Testor's Wet Look figured out. The paint job is gorgeous. Do you have to polish the Wet Look clear as you normally would with other types of paint?
  11. Beautiful work. Please share some more!
  12. I'll say Nay. I'm not anti-pro touring (or pro street) but to "resto mod" a '69 Camaro or any other classic '60's muscle car is a form of automotive blasphemy.
  13. I dig it, man. Very nice work!
  14. I like it! Cool model. I drive a green Jeep and have been looking for HEMI logos to stick on the sides just for laughs. This makes me want to do it even more.
  15. Very nice. I like the photo backdrop too.
  16. Beautiful 'Cuda Carl! Very nice work. Paint is especially nice. What kit is that built from? Thanks, KB
  17. Another stunning build John! I'm glad to see you back to building vintage drag racers. Keep 'em coming!
  18. That is a stunning model. Really nice!
  19. In the beginning they did use onboard batteries. Don't forget, that in the early years (late '60's) racing was closer to "Run what ya brung" and there was a lot of variety. The Polar Lights funny car kits also include batteries but they are meant to be mounted behind the rear wheels.
  20. Nice model of one of the most unique dragsters of all time. I've got a promo poster of the same car hanging in my workshop.
  21. Geez, I live and drive here in the USA and sometimes it seems EVERYBODY behind the wheel is a moron intoxicated or not. I also lived in Russia for most of the '90's and traveled all over the country. Despite the prevalence of alcohol in Russian culture it is worth mentioning that the tests administered for a drivers license is much more stringent than here in Colorado. Driving lessons were also required (at least in the Moscow region). Also, despite the misguided perceptions of some (probably caused by such videos), Russian's seemed to me to take driving and drinking much more seriously than most Americans. We always had a designated driver and those driver's never had even one drink if they had to drive. I was always impressed by their diligence. Finally, on the negative side, although seatbelts are required by law, they are seen as a slight to one's manhood.
  22. Very cool model. Along with everything else, the paint scheme is pretty cool too. Your creativity is very inspirational. Thanks for sharing the ride...
  23. That's a good one. In either the first or second clip where a car hits an old man sitting at a bus stop, did anyone notice that it was a cop that got out of the car? In February of this year, a meteor landed in the large Russian city of Chelyabinsk. That too was captured by a dash cam. Odd that they left that one out.
  24. No such thing as too many Willys'. Model looks great. Paint job is especially nice.
  25. Very cool looking model. Looks just right!
