  1. The AMT Peterbilt 352 soon to return (Thanks Round 2) has the Detroit 8v71 Does anyone know what other engines were offered in that year 352? I've tried looking for option sheets but they seem to be scarce. I can guess some but would like to be more accurate.
  2. Any chance of a medium and short hood for the Prostar?
  3. Exactly Tim. Interesting where this topic has gone from the original question.
  4. Excellent job! Just shows the change were just evolutionary beteeen the various years.
  5. To the best of my memory the extra 4" was to make the bunk a little roomier. The 84" cab has 4 grab handles on each side but the 88" version has 3 due to the sidebox door being further back. Overall the cab didn't seem to enlarge other than that. The Transtar series coe's weren't very roomy hence the 9600 series design. The IH coe had only minor evolution changes from the original 1965 CO4000 to the final Transtar2 1981.
  6. The 1973 specs (transtar) I have show a 51" 74" and 84" cab. They also show cab raised 5" for Cummins VT903 NTC350 NTA370 and Detroit diesel 8v71T. Somewhere in the late 70s, 79 maybe they went to an 88" cab. Either way the the different wheelbases are clearly a myth. Hopefully Round 2 will bring either Transtar coe back. On a side note the 5" higher cab stayed permanently for the Transtar 2.
  7. Just the air cleaner and stacks Ertl reused the chassis straight out.
  8. Yep Porky already has a daycab early transtar.
  9. That's what I 'm thinking. In fact the old transtar only differs in the stacks and air cleaner and the spoke wheels. About 90% of the transtar 2 kit is the original transtar. Not so different from the 1 to 1 transtars
  10. Just checked Ertl no.1 original A model transtar kit I have same frame as transtar 2 kits I have. All long wheelbases.
  11. They say when Ertl switched from air ride to the Hendrickson walking beam they made the wheel base shorter I've built both versions many times and I seen no difference. Am I missing something?
  12. Yep never fit right. Looking good so far.
  13. That particular GM truck cab is not related to any GM pick up cab it was unique to medium and heavy duty models. AITM's resin cab is a near perfect match. The inline 6 71 (238) detroit diesel most of these trucks were powered by is available in resin from Sourkrauts and others. Some were also powered by the detroit 6v71 v6 engine available from the same sources in resin. Looking forward to some pics.
  14. Totally new would be great but new tooling and everything being costly and the economy the way it is around the world I guess we take what we can get. I'm glad it's back though they were getting pricey on evil bay.
  15. The Ertl part 2 trailer has what amount to stickers not decals. Jerries decal are first rate.
  16. E hobbies has a pic so does Italeri models .com
  17. New decals, no roof fairing ,rear half fenders I don't remember on the original $99 list price $80.49 at e hobbies
  18. Italeri is re releasing their WS 5964 with a few changes Due in Aug.
  19. Very creative idea.
  20. Such a variety, keep em coming.
  21. Yep Ertls kit is from second movie. AMTs fruehauf currently available from Round 2 is closet for first movie.
