well I suppose I'll bite... I've started out with a die cast i got at the last show I went to, been meaning to modify it so I suppose this would be good cause. Here's the base kit. Stereotypically I painted like a hippie van, I just figure out how big a 2in brush would be in scale then basically when and hand painted some stuff. The stock die cast had a million shades of paint so I just sanded some to give it a recent body work look and used that as a base. The kit came with a Porsche engine so I just detail painted it. It was really easy to lower this just had to drill some holes up higher, so far its been dropped a bit more than a 1/4 inch. Stock: Lowered: I'd still like a it a bit lower but who know.... Anyway thanks for looking and I hope more people join this CBP

More..... The front break is kinda sucky in this kit, so it was chucked in the dremel and turned to in my opinion looks better, then it was painted in MM aluminum and put again in the dremel and polished while spinning. The side body work was also done in a way to look like is going through repairs. And a fuel gauge was added to the tank. And lastly the front wheel got a bit more detailing, its the part that connects to the spedio. Thanks for watching, sorry about the sucky pictures, and your comments are appreciated. P.S. anyone know how many pic's you can have in a post, I'm hoping I didn't go over. -

More....... The other side hand control was also built. I cut off most of the stock piece and rebuilt it more like a sports bike would have, before it was the set up most cruisers have. The kick stand has kinda been a ongoing problem, i wasn't happy with the first few tries i posted before so here what I think (hopefully) is the final one. Some of the foot controls where also scratch built. Half the resin this update took so long was that I idiotically knock the bike of my workbench so after rebuilding I need to make sure I couldn't do this again, looking again to Moto GP bikes I added this thing under the rear swing arm, the half circle is for a stand when the bike is finished and displayed and the tinny holes bolt the bike down. -

Update time!!! First off pro tech braided line showed up yesterday and is already installed: The hand controls are also done, on one side, I found a tiny spring that's inside them so it all actually works. Also made the cable tensor for them, some how the paints already chipping, will have to retouch it later...... -

Thanks man, How to: Zip ties. Discovered this a few days ago and figure it might be helpful to any one building in large scale. You’ll need some heat shrink tube, pin vise and tiny drill bit, and some scissors. Sorry if my descriptions don’t make sense the pictures should make up for it. First Square up the end of the tube then cut up on the tube leaving but stops the cut before cutting all of the tube. On the top there should be 2-3 ish mm left. Then do the same thing again a few mm next to it, in this picture I made the zip tie way to wide, which can be fixed later. Now about an mm away cut the tube all the way, and then cut in on where you have left some of the tube. The Right side has had this done. Continue doing this on the other side, you should end up with a watch shaped thing. Now on one side of the rectangle cut the piece separate. Shape the new piece like this: (at this point the zip tie is still in a circle form, so I flatten it out in silly putty while you work on it) Then drill a hole in the top and round off the edges, at this point I realized this was way too wide so I cut it down. The next part pretty self-explanatory just act like normal zip ties. Here’s it installed: I just did this in less then 5 min, if you when slightly slower it would probably be a lot cleaner. Hope this help’s someone and an update follows. -
I'm still amazed anyone can build things this detailed in this small of a scale.

A guy on another form talked of this when he spent thosands on one build and he made a good point. figure out how much you spend to model per hour. Buying one revell kit, and probaly spending another few bucks on paint makes most finnished kits around 30-40 bucks. You probaly take 2 or 3 weeks to build. If you work like a hour or two a day. Ends up costing a buck or two a hour. even more if you do tamiya kits witch cost more and normaly go together faster it cost even more per hour. So even if you spend 200 bucks or more you normal spend much more time working on it so per hour it gets cheaper. For me i spend around .25 cents per hour. Besides this is still way cheaper then alot of other hobbies.

Hello, and thanks jbwelda and cobra man. This isn't much of an update but its the begin of the two parts that I've dreaded the most. First of the electrical panel, the stock piece is just one molded in piece, so first I drew out the panel and copied it in to plastic, I've also made all the little boxes but for some reason photo buket wouldn't load them, will have to try again later. And the front controls. The handle where first reshaped to be more "sporty," then all cut apart, a few pieced where scratch built. I know this doesn't look like much but I've actuary got over 6 hours just to get it to this point..... Thanks for looking -

Wow thanks guys really apreciate it! For pant the tank is black I already painted it, back a few post but im thinkin about adding sme sort of stipe to it. For the side cover things its probaly carbon fiber and orange to tie in with the swing arm. The air cleaner covers are the only other body pannels still in use and trying to get rid of them but if they stay probaly white with a honda logo. But I'd love input on any of it, lots of you guys have more skill then I. And thanks again. -

Thanks guys really means a lot. I've got a few odd bits done but the big excitement is RB motion a/n fittings, this might be old news but last time I went on there site they where advertising pre-anodized fittings I've never been particularly good at the anodized look so I went and bought some and there pretty awesome. Also got the oil cooler scratch built for them to go on. (just a note you can't see the dust in real life) Next off will be some of Pro Tech's .80 line, but I still have to get that ordered. Anyway I also got the front light finished: Got the clutch/chain cover finished: And built a fuel spout from the botom of the tank, the stock pieces is the gray plastic blob and my thing in the tweezers: And here's kinda a overall pic of whats going on: Sorry not a ton done but the cotton wood is out in force right now and thanks to allergies most days i cant even see. Anyways thanks for watching. -
1/12 Shelby GT500 build...on hold for the moment.
Hippie replied to brodie_83's topic in WIP: Model Cars
First off it looks great and second if you want added more of the wiring you might want to look at this: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=905115 Hope it helps. -
Hello everyone! and thanks Janterix realize I'm a few days late but thanks anyway... Well if you remember the hole goal of this build was to have something new to bring to a contest. well It didn't turn out to good but it basically was put on the shelf, but on another form many people thought that it couldn't came to be a Gemballa because of the lack of body mods. So now I think I'm going for my first real body kit. My main problem is the style for the 80's I kinda want it to be period correct but i kinda wasn't born yet. So here's my try on a crazy custom car in the 80's Basically I redid all the vents on the front and back, Here's some close ups (nothings finished yet) (The little white square's left from the light and will get filled later.) Also I added some sort of thing extending the fender, a reverse scoop I think you would call it... And my main problem the front hood trying to not be to "ricerish" think I failed..... try again latter I suppose. planed things would be a front spoiler, a rear diffuse, and the scoops modified on the side but they haven't been built yet. Thanks for looking every body and I'd like to hear what you think about the body kit before I try the other side.

1:6 italeri Honda RC211V Question?
Hippie replied to Brudda's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sorry man there's not much detail parts in the large scale bike world The one place I know of is here: http://www.cosmos-factory.com/ They got some pretty nice stuff for 1/9th scale. Also thanks to the huge size you can use a lot of other parts not for models an example would be here: https://sdp-si.com/eStore/ Which is where i plan to buy the chain for my build right now. Hope it helps and good luck with the build. -

Hello everyone and thanks LAone. not much progress but a bit I got all the turn singles in and some of the wiring for it all. And in the front i did one broke manly because I don't have the lens. Lastly on the seat pan I did that swirl polish(I think that's what its called) on the aluminum seat. Sorry it doesn't take a perfect well. Thanks for looking. -

hello again, and thanks TooOld. I have started on the front end first off the handle bars. There styled after a modern sport bike. The grips from tamiya where vinyl kinda one of the few problems in the kit they where remade out of some heat shrink, each side is different to bring in that pieced together look. The actual box things where the wires connect ( sorry no clue what the name ) need to be replaced. Still working out how to make some. And like the original monkey they fold up at least for now: Then I've done one turn single: On the other side I added what i think is a damper of some sort. It looks like the sensor used in sport bikes but in my reference there's no wires so any guise what it is but i built one. (sorry all the pictures seam to suck today) Here's the reference for it: Well thanks for looking. Any comments or idea or even criticism is appreciated. -

Hippie replied to Hippie's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Hello everyone. Got some paint done, I have decided that to be a true cafe bike that all the part will be mismatched in age and brands, so some parts will be weathered and some will still have the sticker on them. (hopefully that makes sense) So on that note here's some of the weathered parts: And some of the parts I showed last time kinda finished: Then here's the headlight: And lastly I found a place to hide the turn lights in the front: Thanks for looking again, I'm surprised that theirs is any interest in a 50cc bike, but cool!! -

Sorry for stretching this thread out but i think I've almost perfected the idea: Thanks

Hello everyone I'm back on this, I'm taking a new direction, a cafe style bike but still mixed with the modern performance bike I showed before Here's kinda a overall shot of the idea and the stance. The main difference besides some paint will be this thing: I got rid of the rear fender and the seat and have replaced them with this little set up. Thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated also if any one has an idea of where to hide the license plate on this it would be helpful. -
Hello everyone and thanks for the comments they mean a lot. The 959 is almost finished, the whole car was painted in white primmer then gloss white, then I use a semi-gloss clear to kinda dull the paint, my goal is to make kinda a street legal rally car. Also the interior is finished sadly I have forgotten to take any pictures before being attached to the body. And way here’s some general pictures. (the mirrors are only a test fit) I realize that the finish isn’t exactly the best but there was a contest this weekend that I wanted to take it to so I ended up kinda in a rush. Thanks for looking guys, and any comments or help is appreciated

Well thanks guys but some of the credit isnt due. The computirized drawings arn't all mine. The lotus was put together from various parts in the google skechup data base then i filled in all the gaps. the aston martin is more my work, i did a lot of the engine, suspension, and intirior
