  1. it seemed that you guys have moved on to different things but here is some info on the original topic. on the first page harry posted a link showing a metal master dusenberg this is a rare kit that came with a metal body the concept was that you polished the metal on the top on the body while painting the rest. a few of the 1:1 dusenbergs were done with polished aluminum ascents. i built this a year ago after obtained the kit from a family member that had had it since new. the fit wasn't good but it was beautiful finished. i have since researched the metal masters line of kits and have learned that they were done in 2 series. first a dusenberg as pictured above, and a 16 cylinder Cadillac these are almost imposable to find, at least i haven't been very successful later another set was done, the set included a t-bird, a 52 vette, and a mg-tc the t-bird and the vette are not very rare and average 40 bucks the mg- tc isn't rare ether but not as coman. i manged to find one at the last swap meet. showing on the back is the other in the set and here is the parts notice the metal body the kits were to hard for kids to build and were disconnected fast. to be honest i had a hard time building it too. but monogram tried the same concept a while later but in a different form. keeping the metal masters name. they came out with a few dusenberg the kits were all plastic but every part was silver plated( not chrome they rely are silver its more dull then usual chrome) with gold chrome instead of normal chrome. These kits are quite conman on ebay. here is my example. and see everything is actuality chrome or gold. thanks for looking and i hope i didn't bore any one.
  2. thanks everyone. wow its been a while since I posted on this, I actuality had to search for the tread. Anyways hers a minor update. I plumed the air tank and added a nitrous system. detail masters provide the tanks, and scale hardware finished the rest. I'm almost done, in a while this will be in the completed section. thanks for looking
  3. Christmas was great to me this year, and I'm still waiting for a trans kit for the Porsche to show up.
  4. looks cool man, I just bought the kit and although I have heard its great did you have any problems? also did you find any areas lacking in detail? (I'm going to try to super detail it)

    57 Chevy

Thanks everyone. The paint line was done on purpose. It was a bad attempt to show my grandpa's lack of care for looks and that he cared much more about performance, Which again is kinda ironic considering its mostly a stock motor. To be honest I kinda regret it now but the cars already in a display case.

This was a Christmas gift for my grandpa for those of you who fallowed the WIP you already know the story, but basically this is a replica of the first car he and my grandma bought together. In the 11th hour the project direction changed due to a lack of chrome foil. So instead of a exact replica i built a inspired car. His brothers and him built (build) race cars to this day and I replicated this as something they got a hold of. thanks for looking
  7. well a update, but kinda late. in the hustle and bustle of the holiday i simply forgot to post. the good news is i finished it, but not necessarily how i planned on doing so. On the 24th i found i was out of bare metal foil, unfortunately the local hobby shop is closed so the project takes a new direction. well here's a quick peak and ill post more in the completed area thank you for all of your support
  8. the door hinges are spectacular!
  9. Cool man! but for future reference all of revells new F-1 kits have bad tires anyways yours looks great
  10. OK well I'm not sure if any of you guys care but I'll update this just in case. I basically have just plumed the oil tanks all i need now is to add the air tanks and lines This is going to have to wait while I finish the Chevy,
  11. Thank Rob I panted the body yesterday and got a clear on it today, I know that it needs sanding/ polishing ect. but i just don't have the time and a little more work on the engine, if any one has any reference pics of a 100% stock engine I would love pics, most of the stuff on the internet is restomods Thanks again everyone!
  12. looks great also thanks for the info on the wire, but is the braided line useful after you take out the core? or dose it kink a lot.
  13. Thanks for all the info guys but to be honest I don't have a clue what most of it means, sorry i was born in the 90's and to be honest all I know much about is racing. Also I'm sorry but I need to Finnish this quickly so I have just cut the B pillar out. I'm gonna try to mix the paint today and get it panted by tomorrow
  14. Ok well I did some more stuff I got the oil tank, and overflow tanks finished and have started to instal them in the bike. and here is it in the bike thanks
  15. Looks cool man, any engine shots yet?
  16. Thanks everyone, Keef, that is a starter but its not there as a starter, in our conversation about the car he complained about a little motor under the driver seat that always needed work, i haven't a clue what it is, but i tried to replicate it any way. About the body to my best knowledge it was exactly like the newspaper. i bought the snap kit and was planing on replacing the body, but I realized that I would have to scratchbuild a new engine compartment, firewall ext. and to be honest I just don't want to, and i figure id never be done my X-mas So what is the difference between the two types, could I just cut out the B pillar?
  17. well if they are toys, they're certainly very expensive toys

thanks the decals are manly from the die cast i fixed some of the paint flaws by wet sanding then put a few layers of clear over it. Then misted some brown tinted flat clear to give it a weathered look.
  19. the engine looks great man! i hope this hasn't been asked before but, whats the plug wires from? it looks much better then just normal wire.
  20. Thanks their car was the color of the newspaper shown I"m not sure what the color is called i just ended up mixing some model master pant together till it worked out, here is a few more pics this is the color I've mixed. about old pics, I'm sure they exist my grandpa was a photographer by trade, but i don't have any, I'm building this In total secrecy just based off a conversation that inspired this build, all i know is it had the 283 was green with a white roof, had a green interior and that he had haven smaller mufflers installed.
  21. well i went and started another one. this is a x-mas present for my grandpa, the story goes that this was the first car him and my grandma bought and hes pretty emotional about the car. I started about a week ago and hopefully can finish it by the 25ft he found this picture in our local new paper and was talking about his car for the next 30 min. that coupled with a coupon, convinced me he needed the model

This is an older build completed about a year ago, it started life as i die cast and i basically just replaced the interior with a scrachbuilt one and weathered the out side a bit. thanks
  23. I can't add any thing that hasn't been said yet, but it looks great!!
  24. I personally like RB motion Fittings But for the lines I'd say you got to have Pro Techs its the best out of any brands
  25. thanks guys, ya the triangle shield would work too, but i wanted to do something different from the normal bike for the diagrams, i looked at the real bikes and looked at the 1:1 products to see how things work, if you want some specific stuff just ask. Thanks agan
