  1. IF I go that direction (sandpaper/polishing cloths) I would start with 1200 sand paper. 600 would take the Red Off that I want to save!!!!
  2. I built the Globetrotter from Revell Back when First issued. Rev-US!! Those tires are Still nice too Of course, it is on a shelf, BEHIND a cardboard Box to keep the cat out!!! The Trailer was in another room, with No intrusion. Tires rotted out!! Trans AM was boxed up. Oh well!!!!
  3. They are IMPORT kits I believe owned by Italeri And boxed/sold here. I have 2 Different Cadillac's in that series, and a 33 Chrysler. Or Parts from one. Like most Italeri kits, the bodies are Multi-piece!! Even their Semi's are!!!!
  4. Thanks I will have to get some to try! I hoped the Alcohol would work I saw red on the Q-tip! No or LITTLE effect on the pin-stripes though!! I was beginning to wonder if I was going to get a reply
  5. 55 Cameo's were painted Commercial red in the box!! And around the side & rear window surround. The rest was India Ivory. 56 offered additional colors, but limited you to the inline 6 engine! A friend restored a 57, but left the wood bed clear coated. Looks Very nice, but, is not factory correct.
  6. I like Old caddies!! I have 2 of the 68 Convertible DeVill myself! One I bought & Built new "Boss Man" issue the second I got built!
  7. This will be the Third 59 Dodge I have watched!! I have 2 OLD Promo's myself, but No plans for them yet! I love these OLDIES!! Even though this one is 2 years older than Me!!
  8. You can post the video to Photobucket or youtube, and post a link here
  9. The tires on my OLD build Otaki 74 Trans Am Did rot. Also the tires in my Original Revell US issue Car Carrier trailer have rotted out! of the 9 in the kit, I think 1 or 2 MIGHT still be complete. ALL others have rotted out and crumbled!! AND, I have Not finished the build!!!! I bought it New too!!!!! I too would Love to know what to do to preserve them!!
  10. This 65 has ALWAYS had the Phantom/Custom Wagon option!! It would be nice to have a Hardtop too. I have an Original, Beards Of Paradise, Prestige, and Nostalgia issues.
  11. Thanks for that Picture It shows the Correct Fleetside inner sides!! Note they Do not go Straight down like a Stepside box!!!
  12. Kits I know having a 'Wood slat' bed are, AMT 50 & 60 Chevy Pickups Monogram/Revell 37, & 50 Ford, 64/5 Chevy (don't forget the 37 Delivery too!!) You will have to cut apart the 60 & 64 'Fleetside' boxes to make acurate beds They are Phantom Cameo's due to being molded in One piece!! I am not sure if Chevy still used Wood on the 60, 64-65 Pickups though.! Ford had gone Stamped Sheet-metal by 60!! Therefore, You will need 1:1 info and NOT use the kit parts!! Sorry, I have already 'corrected' my 60 & 64 pickup boxes I need to look at the AMT 55/57 Cameo/stepside kits, I believe they Should have a Wood floor since the 60 & 65 do
  13. Sadly, The retooling of the body did NOT leave markings for cutting out the sides for use of the Window panels! I have the A-Team issue I have been working one since First issued! You CAN see the marks for the windows in the rear doors though. However, it would be MUCH easier to cut them out After cutting the doors loose from the body!! I did that on my Blue department Rescue Built from a "Sunchaser" issue!
  14. The Last 1/32 they re-issued was the Ertl volvo N10, and AMT Fruehaul refer/Box van trailer. In regular & Coca-Cola versions. I have the Coca-Cola issue I agree, I would get ALL they offered!!! Esspecially the Ertl International COE Eagle!!! Also the MACK Superliner, and Ford LN 9000 AND Their Heavy Wrecker! I am already waiting for Revell/Monogram's next 1/32 Semi! And I have 20+ of their MACK CF Pumper!!! I AM still waiting for the Promised Reverse Engineered 63 F-100 though!!!!!! How Much longer on that one!??????
  15. Hi all. I dug out a Pro-Finish Revell 63 Impala hardtop that I want to build with the ruby red metalic paint left intact on the body, but they have printed, or painted pin-stripes over top the red. (This Was a Lowrider after all) I have tried 91% Isopropol Alcohol, Turtle Wax, and a couple other ideas, but Nothing works. Too bad All graphics weren't vinyl stickers like the murals were!! Is there a way to do what I want? or do I need to start with a Bare body??? I have the Stock hubcaps & tires from an AMT 63 SS. I just liked the Red Metallic paint on the kit. (Plus, It was a Cheap clearance buy back when I bought it)
  16. Here in Maryland, they just came out with a new design on the metal plate. "War of 1812" It shows where the National Anthem was written and fire works. I have the design previous. reflective white back ground with black letters/numbers and the state shield in center. You can get several different styles here too. Save the Bay is the most popular Local Firefighters can also get special plates. Ours have a small P over a V then 4 numbers starting from 0001 There is also a Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Department Shield on the left side. They are available in Almost EVERY city/county department in the state!!! The department must get an order of so many to get them approved/made though! Current members were able to get Their FF# on the plate in the first run. Now they are just first come-first served for remaining plates. Maryland still issues 2 plates, so they Should both be mounted. Some that issue 2 will allow you to not have the front one. But it is better to have it than get ticketed!! I know that North Carolina is another state that only issues the single rear plate. as you can tell with the replies, it is VERY complicated here!!
  17. Yes, You CAn save pic's from evilbay! I do it alot. It Might depend on your browser too Some do have the pop-up "Pictures are Blocked" if you right-click on them Firefox has their little trick Right-click, and scroll down to Page Info. Then pick Media, and look at all Image, or Background items One will be the full size picture Also, many times, you can simply right-click, View new tab and that will open the pic separately, allowing you to copy/save it. Give me a link to these auctions, and I can try to get the pic's myself. Are you using the Master ebay(.com) or the local one? (.au)
  18. It depends by state Some allow Older plates to be used With a Current stick (Year & month in opposite corners) others do not allow that, so Current plates Must be used. the year on the sticker is when your registration expires here in the US. Most plates are good for 2 years now. it use to be you had to renew every year. Some states require inspections of cars. Every year, or every 2. again, all this depends on the state. So for your display, for all to be road ready they should all show an 11, 12,13 or 14 on their rear. license plate
  19. Not sure, But, Shouldn't that be a Longbox pickup to have a Slide-In unit like that?? I Like those Wish MY W-M would get those!!!!! I have seen them on that Evil Auction site
  20. It is returning as the Firestones Super Stones!! Should be out soon!
  21. I have a few of the Palmer's myself. I have built at least 7-10 of the Old Tool Revell 55-57 Chevy's too! NEVER had a Problem with them!!! In fact, about 10 years before Monogram came out with their 56 Nomad, I started one based off the Revell 56 Sedan!! It has the opening Doors, etc!! Roof is from an AMT 55 Nomad, interior parts are from 57 Nomad!!
  22. How many have forgotten they CAN'T re-issue the 65-66 Monaco/Polara?? Evidently a Lot by reading this thread. It was already covered before, that they made that Single seat Bubble canopy Salt-Flats type racer/custom out of it!!! sadly, I forget the name of it now, but SOME One Should know. Pic's Are posted somewhere here on MCM of the last version of the kit!
  23. Why not a Wagon?? There are a few of us who like Long-Roof's!!!
  24. The Polara/Monaco was Destroyed into that Bubble topped "Racer" It Will NEVER be re-issued! And, Polar Lights did a Modern tool of the 65 Coronet, so if Any get re-issued, it will be that one and NOT the MPC/AMT original annual!! (65 Coronet was an MPC kit tooled and first offered in an AMT box)
  25. I saw the 59 Buick version on evilbay NO pickup bed though The trunk lid is extended forward. I do not have a link, as it is not in my watch list at this time. And, No I do not remember the seller I THINK it is a Flintstone body though, so look for one of his sellers
