  1. The Round parts Under the circled Pins are where those Pins mount to hold the rim/tire. (Between the Spindle [yellow] & Plastic axle rod [pink]). The Round part/Brake drum-disc is glued to the Spindle. You can glue it almost anywhere up or down the side of the spindle. There are slots for square/straight mounting on the drum/disc. I can Just make them out. They are in-line with the sprue that are connected to. You are looking at the Side/Edge of the Spindle in that pic. the 'Z' tab is the tie-rod location. I have built a few of these, so know them well.
  2. I will have to check that out. I have a couple of the 73-4 Annual Dusters, plug one or 2 of the Early/original issue of the 'Convoy Chaser' Although I did get a Volare` last year, I can't confirm that part. I don't think I got the chassis. I think I will use a newer tool 71 Duster kit for that.
  3. Not really. Didn't MPC use that Same Chassis on ALL their 68-78 Mopar ?? I have several that seem to have that same chassis. The orignal 70 'Bee, Duke's 69 Charger, 77 Monaco, 78 Force 440 dr Monaco, TJ Hooker 78 4dr Monaco, 71 Road Runner & 74 GTX/Road Runners to name a few. In fact, wasn't that one complaint on the earlier re-issue of the 74 GTX chassis not fitting well due to it coming out of the 4dr Monaco, as well as the Dash too??
  4. I had always wonders at the Scale of that Chieftan. I Have one I bought New at the K-Mart on Airport Rd in Moon Twp, Pa.!! Up the Hill from Coraopolis!!!
  5. Wasn't the Camper in the 65 Drag-Camino first offered in the Original or Early 59 El Camino?? I have seen pictures of the 59 box showing it. I have an original that was 'Painted' with a Marker!! Also, the topper from the 65 was in many issues. I got one in the Gear Hustler issue I only call those Bed caps. I believe that is what the 77-later Ford had, a cap not a camper. AMT offered the After-market type Fiberglass topper/camper in the Hunter Special re-issue of their 63 F-100 and in the 69 Chevy C-10 Annual I have one I got with a 69. it had "Clyde's Custom Campers" decals. AMT also offered a Cap in the 89+ SnapFast Clubcab Chevy Standard Not Dually!! (Green) Revell offered a Cap in one version of the J-10 Honcho Jeep pickup too I need to finish that one for my scale Fire Department. I have drawings/plans for a recent "Westwood/Wildwood" single door trailer, and can do a set for a Dual door unit as friends have them. I have one of those Normatt Winnebego's Bought it at a K-Mart in Moon, Pa.!! Built it back then too!! Chose it over the "Graveyard Ghoul Duo" Interior is a tray like piece with everything only simulated I can dig mine out & take pictures (I ordered the Motorizing kit later!) I need to make copies of the set I drew, but they are 18x12 !! I know I completed a 1/32 scale set. I would like to duplicate them in 1/25-1/24.
  6. Though Crude, especially for the scale, it is better than Some of the early/mid 80's AMT nascar kits Remember the Curbside series?? They started with 4 kits 2 Chevy, Waltrip's Pepsi 11 & Cale Yarlborough's 28 Hardee's And 2 Pontiacs, Richard's 43 & Kyle's 7-Eleven 7. Only the front clips were different between the Chevy & Pontiac. The body was Monte Carlo! Decals were the only Good parts of the kits. Though They Did come with a Driver figure!! Ford Thunderbirds were added shortly after the 2 GM makes and did have their own body #21 Woods Brother's Buddy Baker, & Bud Moore's 15 Word was they were to be toys, then became kits. They are basically Snap kits for kids to play with. I would love to get the decals from the Kyle Petty 7 as that was the only year the 7-Eleven car wore correct Green/Orange/red colors. They became Blue/red on the T-Bird he drove the next year. I have 2 of those kits and can dig them out to take pictures of if anyone is interested. The Interior Folded up from ONE Piece!!!!!
  7. The Ollie's near me has them for $8.oo They also had the Auburn last time I was in.
  8. I already did some modifying of the 68 Runner Chassis & 67 interior tub so they would fit together. just another project I need to dig back out & get to work on!!!!
  9. I have one. It will take work. It is a multi-piece body that assembles around the chassis/interior. Not sure how you can assemble it separately to paint it nicely. The grill also looks a little better from the Inside. I want to build mine as the 46 Indy Pace car!
  10. I have an old MPC 67 Charger undergoing restoration that I planned to use the 68 R-R/69 GTX chassis under I hope to be able to built the re-issue 70 Coronet Super Bee, and complete the resto of the original Annual to have a side-by-side comparison.
  11. For all my early 70's MPC annuals, I never had a Challenger!! Wish I could get a 71!! Or at least the parts to convert one of the AMT combination convertible/hardtops into one!!
  12. recent issues of AMT's 70 come with the Twin-snorkle hood too! It was originally in the Dixie-Challenger version with the center cut out for the blower. They made it Stock now. No Shaker Scoop though. I have enough of the older kits With that though
  13. Yea Which ever of those Custom's was first is likely when the standard seat was lost The A-Team had 3 like those shown with the arm-rests, and one for the B.A. figure to sit in without them. I have 2 original A-Team kits. One I bought & started New, one I got at a yardsale for about $1.oo. It is almost a Glue-bomb, but still good for parts. I do see the 4 Rotator/flasher bases on the chrome tree. So why not offer the caps for police or Fire/Rescue options??
  14. Seats look like those in the A-Team kit. I know those in my Recuse kit, & Penski set are not the ones pictured here
  15. It is also an old Pyro tooling, but is more in line with what MPC was doing for 70's Annuals than what Pyro/Premier is mostly known for. i want one, but have not gotten lucky enough yet
  16. The front Brake drum backing plates & rear seat insert were lost when AMT tooled the body & interior for the Sedan. Upon re-issuing the Nomad those part never returned. I bought the "W-M Value-Decorated" aka Pro-Shop version of the Nomad and they were not in the box. Hopefully Round2 will get the notice about the missing parts and fix this kit soon.
  17. Are the Stock tires G70's?? Also, are they the Old AMT ones or the slightly larger MPC's?? I would think F series rubber would be more correct on this small a car.
  18. I made the hinges for mine out of Evergreen Here are 2 pic's that show the door I can take a few more with the door closed, and even off to show more detail. There are 3 sections of tube per hinge 2 on the body (top & bottom), one on the door (Center) I need to dig her out to see if the pins are evergreen rod or wire pin. I tried the same method on Revell's 48 Woody, but they kept breaking off. I since have made Piano type hinges out of tin pie pans, super-glued/eoxied to the frame & doors
  19. The rear plates were always there There were 2 sets. neither were chrome I got lucky in the rear seat panel I had a scrap interior that I cut a section out to make the insert I added the chrome/aluminum surround with Evergreen strip
  20. I have one with the Original 1970 box art recreated. I just wish the Police lights were still in the box. That is how I built mine way back when!! I did notice the New grill does not match the Original. There is a detail ring inside the shell on the original that is missing on the re-tool I don't remember if the tail lights had detailed fluting engraved or not in the original. Mine were sanded smooth due to heavy glue
  21. Have they returned the front Brake backing plates to the tooling yet?? They lost them when they added the inserts to this tooling for the Sedan.
  22. Did they tool that Samba out right All New? Or is it a re-tool of the Original kit from 59, last issued Stock in 67?? Why would they have tooled it ALL new, yet done it in the Late 50's Multi-piece body ? I have one and it is Definitely OLD School tooling!!
  23. Its molded like that I have the Original 73 Annual that came painted metallic red with it, and the last issue still has it. I have both the Classic's box & W-M Value (Checker-Board) box of the last Cougar kit
  24. Since all parts start on One tree, that is cut into the separate trees we get in the kit, including the Chrome tree(s) I bet there are an Equal number of Red, Purple & White Chrome trees as there are kits of each make. They could easily have been mixed at the Factory in CHINA After Plating. Remember, once plated, they are not looking at the underlying base plastic, just What trees go in what box. That could have happened Even if they were manufactured here in the US. Plus, if the kits are only Final Boxed here, that would also cause the mixing of parts! Only the Clear windows & lenses are Separate tooling.
  25. I think you can Mail-order from Evergreen I ordered a catalog from them a few years ago. Same with Plastruct. Check their website, it might just give you their Snail-mail address to order that way. You will have to send payment. Checks will delay shipping, so I use Postal Money orders.
