    32 Chevy

I started this one back when AMT re-issued it. Need to dig it out again. I do like that clean Stock Classic!!
  2. I try, but Very little Luck in my area. in 15-20 years of trying, I have found less than 10 models. Bigfoot 1 was first find. unbuilt, only $1.50 sealed inside too!! Glue Bomb 77 & 79 Trans Am's about $1.oo for the 2. My last find, late April a 68/9 GTO for only $5.oo Sealed I have a friend who goes to Many more every week and has found a little. First was an Original Monogram 1/32 Mack CF Pumper. Last week no kit, but an NWSL "Chopper", Toll rack, Paint Shaker, 1/35 scale ruler, etc
  3. I use to be able to get an occassional MCM in th e'Hobby Stop" in Seaford, Del. but didn't see them or the Other one the last time I was able to got there. I have a B&N 32 miles north of me ans 15 miles closer than the Hobby Stop. I will start going there to look for the mag!! Why doesn't the publisher collect unsold issues to sell in the back issue order form??
  4. The Ohio State Trooper Original issue of Lindberg's 97 CV Did call it a Snap. "Super Snap Ultra" to be exact. I have 4 of them in boxes, and a built one for resto/parts. Biggest item on the recent issues I don't like, The holes for the MX lightbar do not match the Original Vision/Vector V lightbar pin location. The MX lightbar is not as good in my opinion as the Vision/Vector/V in the Ohio kit. I have the Alabama, Illinois, CHP, versions, but my Generic decided to climb under my foot and went "Crunch"
  5. So far, I have only received one purchased kit only wrapped in paper over the kit box. A Heller/Lee copy of Imex/Arii's 58 Cadillac convertible. I got lucky in the box was not crushed, or mutilated in any way. I too save all receiving boxes. Plus, I watch the Recycle bins here in town. When I see good boxes, I take them. Due to the quantity of kits I have, I re-enforce the kit box itself with corrugated cardboard inside, bag loose parts, agid surround with bubble wrap/Foam sheet. layer peanuts or foam sheet/bubble-wrap. Be advised though, The Post Office may accept paper as packing, but UPS will VOID insurrance if paper is the packing. I asked once in a UPS shipper's office.
  6. Not in 81 they weren't using Torinos. The 81 T-Bird IS a Nascar kit Only. Otaki/Arii still occasionally offers the 72+ 'Bird kit. But as a Japanese market only kit, it is rather expensive here.
  7. The Polar Lights kit is a separate tooling than the Aoshima/AMT kits. I have one of the P-L kits. It has metal axles and a Chrome plated body. Aoshima has re-issued the series at least once. there are as many as 4 kits. Original movie with the Folding wheels & Mr Fusion as well as the lightning rod. Second movie with Wide Whites, and Third movie with Rail wheels I have recently seen smaller 1/43 scale kits showing up from them too. Wish AMT would contract to offer this one again.
  8. I like this one too! i have one of those 1/32-1/48 scale Decotora Van kits. I am looking at what I need to do to build it Stock. I think all those parts are in there, just not called out in the instructions.
  9. I have an unbuilt in the MPC 74 issue 72 Longbox Stepside kit If anyone is interested in casting it. The bike in the Bigfoot-1 is more of a Minibike, not a Dirt bike. I have one. It's the same as in the 6-wheel Ford Econoline van kit.
  10. I want one of these. Is this done in Single section sides, top, bottom like the Old AMT 40 ft box van?? I have an Italeri Box van & a Heller Canvas top trailer, and both are Split section, 2 pieces for each side, top & bottom plates. Not easy to hide those seams!!
  11. here they are: http://jleslie48.com...port/index.html http://jleslie48.com...rane/index.html http://jleslie48.com...dels_other.html Another Cab, and accessories, not to mention some other interesting models. These Semi's are FREE!!!! That Crane is Filly Functional with Careful building!!
  12. Since mo0st resin manufacturers suggest you soak the parts in Wesley's Bleeche White Tire cleaner, that is what I have used for stripping paint from resin.
  13. I have one myself. Bought new back when. Don't like the way Rev did the Jetstream/Jetstrobe lightbar. The seam would have been better through the center of the top & bottom making a front/back like the chrome reflector/flasher center parts I would like to do both versions I know of. The kit supplied Jetstream & one with a "Vision/Vector" Flying V lightbar. I have seen pic's of both. Does this car still run?? or exist?
  14. Shawn, Should we give these guys the link to Chriess' Paper semi trucks???
  15. Hi all. Is there a reason why I now get an error when I try to go from a Subject area to "Model Cars" in the Forum?? This is what I get; Sorry, we couldn't find that! [#103139] You do not have permission to view this forum. Need Help? Our help documentation Contact the community administrator I can still navigate by going out to the front page 'Model Cars Magazine Forum' then to the subject I want, but can not get to the 'Model Cars' section directly I do not get this error in any other sections, Help, Trucks. Just in Cars. I did not know what to do, or if anyone else was having this trouble.
  16. I would try the same type paint you use on tire sidewalls. Acrylic there is/was a paint formulated for Flexible parts of Model Railroading but am not sure if it is still made. Was it from Badger?? I want to say it was called Flex-color or Flex-coat??
  17. I thought they were going to do the Coupe & Convertible bodies with 40/41 style front clips giving us the option to combine all 4 kits to build all body styles for all years. That was the report back when the 2 48's were first announced.
  18. I would't say no!!! (Not with my name now would I??)
  19. It will likely fit both fairly equally, But I bet it Was for this one. I seem to remember it being done Before P-L did their version I believe it to be a Superior Crown
  20. Both AMT & Monogram would have been better off casting the Headlight bezels as separate parts, thus allowing the fender to extend to its correct location. The Gunze 1/32 scale 59 Eldo has the headlight bezels cast with the body, With the dividing line in the correct location leaving the body color band separating the grill from the headlights.
  21. The 4 Corner Spot lights that mount to the rooftop equipment rack are era correct for a stock Ambulance. The A pillar spotlight will need to be relocated. Most on vehicles of this era were Fender mounted. The are went through the fender to the dash. The picture of my built above shows the modified mount but may not be sharp/large enough. I need to foil it though.
  22. Yes, I believe the convertible had the standard bumper. I believe the only difference is the position/location of the parking lights. in the outer corners of the slots in the bumper standard. Moved in-ward to allow for the ram-air Scoops on the W-30 version. All I did was cut them out & remount them o9n my hardtop. I had several matched pairs of these kits for trade a few years ago. Wish I still had a few now!
  23. I believe the Iveco is the only version of the Italeri DLK to be re-issued period!! over 80% of all I see are the Iveco!! I have seen the DAF a couple times, and the renault once or twice!! Without catalogs, I forget all the Fire kits Revell Of Germany has issued!! Like the Peterbilt Pumper, & the Airport Simba 8x8. I had 3 of the original TLF 8/18 kit. Got that all VERY Cheap Long time ago. Traded/sold 2 years ago, now have added the ones I listed. I have the chance for another RoG Benz DLK !!! just have to get my car fixed enough to get me to them to help for a day to pay for it!!!
  24. Thanks for the vote guys. The Pink/White Deluxe promo is the only one I have that came with an interior. The Turq. toy version only had the tin-plate chassis, and Gray bumpers/grill. I replaced the missing PMC pieces with Revell Chrome. I have 2 Front seats from the Reveel Fairlane 500 Skyliner in there. No interior panels yet Yes the couple from a yellow '74 issue of the Skyliner are in there!! I will take more pic's of the chassis, etc. (When I can remember to that is) Chassis & engine are straight from the Rev Skyliner, rims are from AMT's 56 Vic, tires are also AMT Prestiege kit white stripe Firestone square side wall's. I took a Pink one of the Styrene toys and started an EDSEL Villager too!! I did start the cargo area floor out of evergreen 'V' groove sheet.
  25. I went to the trouble of back-dating one of these to the original. Then of course Polar Lights came out with their kit. The P-L kit appears to be based off the same masters as the AMT 1A kit. Though the rear axle is too far back in the opening. Also the separate dark tint window section is wrong. Both movies had a clear stripe in the side & rear hatch/door window with the top & bottom areas dark. it is not easy to see in my built 1A above. * One side is painted with window tint, the other is tint film. I could not get the stuff to spray/settle well. It ran terribly. It took 2 layers of film to match the Testor's spray!!
