My introduction into the world of laser cut structures

Well your gonna love this then Richard. I just took photo's of everything as of now. I decided on Sincliar as the station so I started painting some things green. I I also started to mount the billboards. I need to find a cop car to sit behind the Indian one. And I started modifying a Jordan miniatures kit into a Salt Flat racer. -
My introduction into the world of laser cut structures

Ok I'm back. Charlie It's from JL Innovative, it's their kit Marble rock garage. Thanks richard,I'm a big vintage motorcycle guy and I love Indians almost as much as Crockers, but I didn't have a Crocker sign. The signs are printed off the internet and onto a piece of paper then laminated to give it that metal look. To rust it I just tap my paint brush to the edge with a rusty wash and the paper absorbs some. The billboard frames are completely scratch built out of Balsa. The gas station will be somewhere out in the desert, probebly near bonneville set in the late 50's. Hopefully I can get some more pictures up soon. -
Well I recently decided to build an HO scale Diorama to change pace a little bit and let me just say that this project has been the most relaxing stress free build I think I have ever done.I'll post pics now and explain later.

Very nice! I picked up a glue bomb recently and just lost momentum on it, this one is inspiring me to get back on it.

They may not have drivers ed but it looks like they have a class on bailing wrecked cars there. -

Cool. Didn't the old Jo-Han plant get replaced by a parking garage? -
Great job. I love the clean bodywork.

One Kit, One Island!
Austin T replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A kit of a boat so I could get off the island to the nearest Hobby Shop. But in all honesty I would pick one of those AMT three car gift packs so I could have some variety. If not that then I would have a few of the new Aoshima Rocket bunny 86 kits, I think I could build a few of those. -

No I agree the Mustang was a pretty big problem, but since then it has escalated. -

Now I'm not talking about the big issues. I'm talking about small insignificant ones. Ever since the Revell Mustang fiasco it seems everyone has decided to come out from under a rock and say " Part XYZ the connects to part ABC seems to be 1 scale inch off, let's burn EFG company at the stake!" and then of course the people who have enough time to stare at a test shot and find little things like that probably have enough time to fix them. -

Some of you guys need to back a few feet away from your monitor and look at the big picture. If you look closely at something you will always find problems, even on the REAL truck. I guarantee you that more than a few trucks rolled of the factory floor not 100% perfect. As for moebius's other two car kits, do the same. Who else was going to make a Hudson Hornet or a vintage 300? How about we all save the rivet counting and correct dimensions for the aircraft guys. -
I love box top builds. Here's one I did of AMT 50' Chevrolet pick up. I don't care to much for Chevys but this box art was to good to pass up. Now I did substitute the white for cream, but I still think It's good enough to pass as box art.

If I didn't know better I'd say you have a thing for Porsches.

1951 Chevy Wanderer - Minor Progress - 8/3/2013
Austin T replied to Tom Geiger's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Very nice job so far. I started making the inside of the camper for the el camino and came into the problem that all my occupants have to be hobbits. -
Well I know for sure the Blower on the Stylo Camaro is fake. There is a video on youtube somewheres where the current owner of the car does a walk around and lifts the hood.
