  1. Looks good....cant wait to get started on mine...
  2. just picked me up a Cobra kit off ebay...will be starting to build it as soon as I can, probably after the 9th (car show weekend here). Still unsure on how I will build this Cobra....too many choices
  3. Looks great...I am going to be starting on the 82 Collectors Edition Monogram 1/8 kit. I will be replicating my 1:1 81 Corvette. Ya don't see many of the bigger Vette kits being built....
  4. Afraid I have to put a hold on my build, with car show season upon us, I have been working on my 1:1 ride all day every day since I started this build...hopefully after the shows I can dig it back out and do some more to it. There are some great ideas and builds floating around here so far....cant wait to see everything finished.
  5. Would love to join in on this build. i just have to find a kit first...will update when possible
  6. thought about it, but trying to stay somewhat true to the guidelines of this build...using only stuff I have around the house. Will try a glue I got from the lumber yard, tonight sometime and see how it goes. thanks again
  7. thanks for the reply....I have scratched the clear firewall idea...not that good of scratch builder..lol...but i do still need to find something to glue the plastic on. It is the only material I have that I can use. I plan on covering it in BMF after installing it so hazing/etching doesn't really matter. Will be going out of town this weekend so I can try and find some other type of glue. Thanks
  8. ok got a question for al of you....I am trying to make my own firewall for this build. I got the shape drawn out and transferred it to some plastic (clear packaging) and have glued it to the body 2 times already using Testor's glue in red tube...it sticks good and then after a few hours (this last time was overnight) it just pops right off. What kind of glue do I need to use so that it will stick? I am wanting to use the clear plastic to resemble a plexiglass firewall. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  9. going to just scratch build one...the previous frame was a little too short anyhow....so will make more room and maybe places to add little details...been so busy working on my vette that I haven't had any time to do anything else to the build. Will try and get some work done tonight on it...
  10. well frame I was going to use is now in 2 pieces..no clue as to how it broke so I guess I will try my hand at a scratch built frame...
  11. yeah it is from the blue truck I got from you. Soaked it in the purple pond for 2 days and that's how it turned out...I'm also using one of the frames I got from you too...still trying to figure out something to do for the back end. maybe some kind of bed or rails, just so its not frame exposed...
  12. yep, Countach engine...have changed direction of the build several times since I had first thought about it. Will be getting more done in the next few days...still undecided don paint, shiny hot rod or weather rat rod?...
  13. got a little building done in between working on my 1:1 ride and looking for a job....here is a sneak peak at what I will be creating...all from parts box with a few scratch built pieces thrown in..there will probably be some changes through out the build, but pretty much have a design in mind and going to try and stick to it...let me know what you think...thanks grille was full chrome, brushed on some createx black and then used the end of a clothes pin to rub away the paint on the raised surfaces...looks pretty good if ya ask me lol
  14. same here...been digging and finding some stuff to replace parts I had planned on using...
  15. think I can get something built by June...I'm in for sure...Have been planning this type of build for quite some time now so far this is what I have for the build. i am expecting alot of parts in the mail withing the next 2 weeks that will contribute to this build...planning on a scratch built frame and the rest out of parts box, if thats cool?...thanks
  16. Looking good so far...I am going to be building this same kit once I get all my current projects finished...keep up the good work..
  17. thanks for the comments guys
  18. Finally got this one finished...had a little trouble with the headlights fitting properly, but will have to do...also the mirrors are the racing version, was wanting to swap them out for some other ones. After finding a set from a Lambo, they weren't proportionate to the car so just went with the ones in the kit...let me know what you think...this is my first import and first 2 tone paint job...thanks again
  19. i let the rear window get glued in good overnight before handling the body anymore...here are a few pics of the chassis before fitting body on it. and here is one shot of the completed ride...will be Underglass in a few minutes...thanks again for all the comments and views...onto the next build
  20. got a little work done on this again...been having trouble with the rear window staying in place..but seem to have won the battle...also got the windshiled glued in.and the rims/tires mounted to the chassis...will get pics asap
  21. Got my styrene strips and round rod from Evilbay in I will be using to try my hand at scratch building a frame. also got the 59 Ford Galaxie Skyliner kit from Poncho-Power...looks like an interesting kit..thanks again
  22. Got a few pics of the body...they are a little better than the earlier ones...
  23. Got some better pics showing all the body...2 tone paint could be crisper, but not bad being my 1st 2tone paint job...
  24. Ok, got some better pics...I do like how the inside of the body turned out...I brush painted it with the Createx Opaque black and it gives it kind of a hand laid fiberglass look
  25. got a chance to clear the body and hood FINALLY...turned out pretty good considering it was cooler outside than normally when I spray...will give it time to cure before handling it too much...will get better pics once it cures...but this will give you an idea on how it come out...thanks
