  1. I'll keep my cool. I've kind of given up on garage sales as of lately it's all been baby BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, or old people stuff. I remember when I was a kid (in the 80s-90s) getting quite a few good models from garage sales.
  2. Thanks for the help guys....hopefully I can snag one for a decent price
  3. Looking at some of these Fujimi kits, I noticed a lot of them that have what looks like gear assembly for a wind up car. Was this an option, and did it effect the overall look the detail of the car?
  4. I got a little cash burning a hole in my paypal account, and I've been surfing ebay looking for something interesting. I found some larger scale (1/16, 1/12) Lambos, and Ferrari's for a decent price, and was wondering which would be worth my time. I know everyone is going to say Tamiya, but that's to rich for my blood. The kits that I've been looking at are from the 80s-90s of the Testarossas, Countachs, and some 512's, and F40's from Fujimi, Testros, Monogram, Italeria, and Revell. Just wondering what your opinions on some of these kits are?
  5. I like that "seasoned" look
  6. I tried cutting a section out in the center to make it fit in width wise, but it tapers to much to the front.
  7. This is in refrence to my "Trans Am Mustang" build http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92375 I need some help with fabbing up some of the roll cage. I've been hacking and cutting at the roll cage for a while now, and I've got most of it to fit, except for the part that runs from the main structure behind the drivers seat, runs the length of the roof and down to "A" pillar, and meets up near the dash. The donar NASCAR roll cage that I'm referring to is way to narrow and looks weird sitting that far from the "A" pillar. My problem is that the roof loop is ellipsed in the front behind the wind shield. I want it to look the same but not sure how to go about bending plastic like that, especially with out any tension trying to pop it out of place. I'll get pics tomorrow
  8. Compuware Corvette (except for the fact that I had to cut out the hood) '69 Boss 429 '68(?) Gran Torino GT 428 CJ Tamiya Ferrari F2001 1:12 Tamiya Ferrari 312B 1:24 Tamiya Ferrari Enzo AMT '66 Fairlane GT '55 Bel Air Indy Pace car
  9. I don't even think that I've ever seen a Citation in real life that looked that good.
  10. A twin turbo setup, and an IRS...is it going to be a drag racer, or more of a pro-touring??? If you do a google search about foxbody, cobra IRS some guy did a build up on that, and it basically just bolts right in.
  11. Got some progress, I've been hacking away at the roll cage to make it fit, had to move the fuel cell forward quit a bit too
  12. It's the 1/16 scale 1980s Hardee's NASCAR T-Bird chassis, and drive train, but I'm putting the AMT 1/16 scale Mustang body on it.
  13. what do you mean "dash 10" "dash 12" lines?
  14. Does any know what the oil cooler behind the driver seat is for??? I know I know I should have taken a pic, this just randomly came to mind.
  15. So would the Visible V-8 fit in the Visible Chassis?
  16. A little progress 1. I prettied up the drivers seat with some orange paint, and a little foil 2. opened up the trunk, and gutted the engine bay 3. I narrowed the frame in the center taking out about 1/8" on either side Next step...and I'm going to need some advice 1. the fuel cell/ frame sticks out to far in the back 2. I'm going to have to ope up the fenders for the wheels, any advice on how to make fender flares?
  17. v83 by krhdreammachines, on Flickr I did something similar a while back, surprised more people haven't done this
  18. So I have a 1/16 Hardee's T-Bird laying around that was pretty busted up, and I thought to my self..."Self, wouldn't it be pretty cool to take that chassis, and engine and put a Mustang body on it, and paint it up like the old Shelby Terlingua race cars (the yellow and black coupes with the rabbit, but silver and black). Once I find a donor Mustang kit I'll get some more pics going.
  19. https://www.flickr.com/photos/33410244@N04/6442801317" That's my Big "T" that I've had to fix several times for some odd reason
  20. I did the old Monorgram, I guess re-release, of the Hot Rod 55 F-100 with a few different things. I wanted to make it like the one my dad had so I got rid of the IRS and swapped a solid rear axle in kept the IFS, and instead of a manual tranny I threw in an automatic, and instead of using the fuel injection that came with the kit, I used the carb set up that came with it. I'll try again later to get some more pics...apparently I have to re-size some.
  21. Looks like they used Good Years here's a link clicky http://www.nvsaac.com/gallery/missing_daytona_coupe.htm
  22. Does any one have any pics, suspension, cockpit, engine, from mid-80s Ford NASCARS.
