I wish i could get donations from TDR

I'm honestly surprised that it fit in the engine bay, I thought it would be sticking out of the hood in a cartoonish way.
-
That it does....ummm well did a long long time ago...could use some fixing up though.

That's the one. Is there any value in restoring these, spare parts availability? This is my dad's and it's pretty rough, no paint, no dash, no wind shield.

sorry Compuware Corvette C5-R -
I havent taken a pic yet but i was looking for some info on an antique corvette cast iron toy. Its a 1950spurple vette about 1/12-1/16 in scale the hood and i think the trunk open not sure on the doors. The engine is a straight six but its just a molded piece of plastic insert. Im guessing its from the mid to late 50s.

That's the one....That's the one my dad let me play with when I was a kid. Looked it up on Ebay and some guy is selling his sealed kit for $140 -
flipping through E-bay today and saw quite a few Mustang GTOs for sale, and thinking some day I'd like to build one. Are there any out there that are better than another or are they about the same?

I remember one of these kits being in the house when I was a youngin it was molded in yellow and it had a black decal running down the side -
I'm asking about the engine paint because I have a couple of cans laying around, and thought it wasteful to keep buying other paint if I could use that paint.
-
I didn't feel like starting two threads, but seeing how they are both paint related I put them in one thread. First question is I have an older Sears 1/10 hp air compressor with no switch. Turning it on and off requires plugging and un-plugging the compressor. Is there something like a foot switch that I could connect between the air-compressor and the power source or do I have to go in there and hard wire it in? Second question: I found some Dupli-Color engine spray paint (gloss black, and primer grey) would using the primer be ok with other model paints?

What kit has a good Ford 427 SOHC?

not sure if anyone mentioned this but I think that the AMT 68 Shelby, the 3'n1 version, had a dragster option with a Cammer -
That's cool to see something besides a V-8 in every car.

Well here it is. I'm still struggling with racing stripes, but some day i shall master them kind of biffed the racing stripes here Thanks Freakshow12 for the gas tank info
-
I was wondering about that, maybe the tank from the AMT 67 Shelby will work for that.
-
I filled in the open area of the gas tank with some plastic and putty and the battery I cut out from the engine bay and put it in the trunk. I took a cap from mags on the Big Deuce and put a quick fill gas cap in it.
-
Made some progress this weekend, this is my first airbrush job and I don't think I'll ever use spray paint again.
-
Being this is an "R" Shelby the batter belongs in the trunk I didn't like how the oil pan turned out from the kit so I filled in the gaps and I'm going to paint it grey
-
Those are great pics, but with gas tank does it look like they just flipped it upside down so it would look like it's flat on the under side?
-
does any one have any good ref pics for this car

So as a Christmas gift from my Grand parents I got the Blue Revell Shelby G.T. 350R from Revell's Street Burner series. I'll get some pics tonight or tomorrow.
-
I'll have to give that a try thanks.
