  1. thought it would look cool using the Ivory paint from the roof on the insides of the fins.
  2. is that a camshaft spreader bar in the front
  3. Got the seats painted up, turned out ok. Has anyone been able to get a shiny chrome center section in the dash board of this model? I tried foil, then I tried paint and it's not working.
  4. Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover Seaside. Got some work done on the engine while the paint dries. The valve cover lettering turned out ok
  5. For Christmas I picked up a Monogram 1/12 scale '57 Chevy Bel Air. I had one when I was a kid, and did the strip version, and seeing that most of these are built like that I'd thought I would do mine bone stock. I'm doing it in Larkspur Blue, with an Ivory top, and blue interior. More pics to come
  6. That was the color I was shooting for, but wound up with something a tad darker, and bluer. I'm going to be doing a two tone '57 Bel Air, Larkspur Blue, and Ivory white top.
  7. Any recommendations for seafoam green. I checked Testors, and Tamiya's web site and I couldn't find anything. Would a Krylon, or a Rust-Oleum product work good on plastic?
  8. oh man that brings me back. I remember that one from the old Monogram catalogs.
  9. Wasn't liking how my home made roll cage was going so I threw this together, and hopefully I can get some one in town to print this up for cheap
  10. I think that is the first "Steam Punk" thing that I've seen that actually steam powered.
  11. I'm going to make a '40 Ford standard so that wont be a problem
  12. Just wondering if they are still being made, or recently made enough that they don't cost an arm and a leg? I've seen some older kits (60's/70's) for a ridiculous price. Does anyone know if the one I have pictured still readily available?
  13. Do another double take. I just picked this up at Salvation Army for $10, and just realized it's the same desk. Must have been a pretty popular model.
  14. I was thinking too that if someone had some 2D drawings they could put them up so one of us could draw them up
  15. There's talk about getting a 3D printer at work which got the gears turning about a new project, which got another idea going. What if we made a library of Solidworks, Inventor, etc...3D files, to scale, that everyone can use. Example if I wanted to do a Ford flathead, and wanted to use the original intake, and fuel pump I just go to the site pick the parts that I need download them and print them off. I was thinking this would be especially helpful to the larger scale modelers who's parts can be rather limited.
  16. I wonder if I could convince the wife not to go to Ohio this weekend to see her brother, and to celebrate our anniversary to get that Enzo...I'd even paint it with the pink paint for her
  17. what no hippie gas pedal?
  18. Hey another Michigander, welcome from the West Coast.
  19. Has any one been blessed to be able to create a full scale version of what ever weird scale creation they've made?
  20. I like how you have your dremel setup Custom Mike. What about air compressors/and air brushes
  21. nice chop job...just watch yer head getting in
  22. well you got to shop at Aldi now to afford that thing
  23. The eliminator defiantly looks a lot better with those rims over the originals
