  1. Did one of you guys park on the internet hose again???
  2. Is this the real thing? It doesn't matter whether it's a REAL Cobra or a reproduction...as long as it's a 1:1 scale car, it's real. Or is it??? The answer: REAL!
  3. This kit has a long-standing reputation for being somewhat less than ideal...but whatever issues the kit has, you obviously worked right through them and then some! Gorgeous! I love the underhood detailing, the paint job, the interior...heck, ALL of it! Fantastic work.
  4. Very nice work, Mark. Welcome aboard, and keep on posting!
  5. The January issue is "a little" late...but there's good news. The December hard drive crash is ancient history and progress is being made to get your favorite modeling mag back on schedule. In fact, the Feb./March Contest Issue is at the printer as we speak, and the April issue is approx. 75% done! Hopefully production will be fully back on schedule with the April issue. Lots of changes in store..."new and improved", as the saying goes. Look for an April issue like you've never seen before! Stay tuned...
  6. Just to simplify things... Future is nothing more than clear acrylic. It's not a wax or a polish, but simply clear acrylic. You can apply it to your model with a wide, soft brush. Future is "self-leveling", that is, it dries without brush marks. You can also airbrush it on (straight from the bottle, no thinning necessary). Cleanup of the airbrush is simply with plain old H2O (that's water to you non chemists!) It's simple, basic, inexpensive...and it works. Great stuff.
  7. So who says you can't build another one??? BTW...for all of you that haven't gotten your new issue yet, be patient. That little dude in the canoe can only go so fast...
  8. OK, this isn't model related (sorry, Gregg)... but it's very interesting. Even surreal, if you ask me. Ford Motor Co. has sold the "Jaguar" and "Land Rover" brands to an Indian car company!!! It was weird enough when Ford bought Jag and LR...how weird is it that those two venerable English marques are now "made in India"???!!! I think I need a drink...
  9. Newton's Third Law: Moving vehicle + sharp X-acto blade = inevitable disaster.
  10. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...
  11. WOW!!! For the very first time I FOOLED NOBODY!!! It's REAL. You guys are getting too good at this. Monday I'm pulling out the big guns...
  12. Also, check out the good old LHS. I've seen various sheets of "generic" (not kit-specific) PE mesh, screens, etc. on display alongside the brass and aluminum tubing rack. It's made by K&S: http://www.ksmetals.com/SpecialShapes/default_product2.asp
  13. I can't believe they're street legal at all! What about laws regarding headlight to ground distance, bumper to ground distance, etc. How are these things street legal NOW???
  14. Is this turtle real??? The answer: REAL!
  15. That's funny...I always thought the animal on the Impala badge was an IMPALA!!!
  16. What about people in the witness protection program? Or spies? Or rock stars and movie stars? I think Keith Richards really prefers to be known here as "Bluesman Mark"...
  17. I don't think our bodies were designed to go around lifting 550 pounds... Might want to try a less stressful sport.
  18. Ha ha ha!!! I shoveled about six inches of "springtime" the other day!
  19. well, since the name of each image is GAZ, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Gaz??? 1920s era.
  20. Just don't eat anything before you go there...
  21. I thought I'd fool more of you with this one, but you were too smart. It's REAL! Next ROM coming Monday!
  22. Since you're in the Marines right now, you're too young to remember this, but years ago Saturday Night Live did one of their fake commercials. The real commercial showed a jeweler cutting a diamond in the back seat of a moving Lincoln or Mercury (to show how smooth the ride was). The SNL version was of a Rabbi doing a circumcision in the back seat of a moving car. Hilarious. Your story reminded me of that.
  23. But the real question is... What in the world are you doing trying to trim the door handles off a model car body in a moving van???
  24. Kinda hard to miss, being right there on the hood and all... But I knew that one anyway.
