  1. One tip: Check your audio. Your video's sound is very "dirty" and hissy.
  2. Beautiful! (in a ratty way, of course... ). Engine detailing is spectacular!
  3. Pretty nicely done. One suggestion: take your knife and slice the flames at the door line and use some decal setting solution or clear enamel or acrylic to get the decal to snug down. The flames should not cover the door panel line like that.
  4. It's going to be on TV.
  5. He's not the publisher, Golden Bell Press is.
  6. I think the main reason behind the "rivalry" (if any) between the MCM and SA forums is the fact that both forums are associated with magazines that are "rivals." Most other online modeling forums don't have a magazine associated with them, so there's less of a sense of competition or rivalry between them.
  7. That is pretty odd... Also... molded-in stock exhaust system, and headers... quite a weird mish-mash.
  8. It's from the days before "safety ratings." (1958)
  9. "Blimey" is the wrong word. It's a German car.
  10. If you were an MCM subscriber you would have seen the "Scratchbuilding School" feature that covered this in detail.
  11. It all depends on what turns you on about the hobby. Different people may do the same activity in different ways. As far as building models, some people are always pushing themselves to get to that "next level," they sweat the details, they do everything they can possibly do to make their model as close to perfect as possible. Then there are those who get their hobby kicks by simply gluing together a kit and putting it on display. To some builders accuracy and attention to detail never even enter the picture... it's just not part of the hobby the way they enjoy it. So debating about whether or not "perfectionism" is a worthy goal or trait is pointless. To perfectionists, yes, it is. To others, they couldn't care less. Different strokes, as they say...
  12. Uh..... Houston, we have a problem...
  13. Not sure how much you are into accuracy and/or detail, but the body colored wipers look a little odd. Also, what happened to the Monte Carlo's taillights?
  14. Ah, that must be what I remember. I had that kit as a kid.
  15. Didn't JoHan offer a few kits molded in metalflake colored plastic? I seem to remember a Dodge Monaco or something like that...
  16. Obviously you know nothing about engineering. Those two work together! I bet they create an extra 50 hp! Then add the extra power those tube thingies in the fenders add, and this thing can really fly!
  17. But I bet that spoiler makes the car really fast!
  18. Don't forget Grandma Moses. She didn't start painting until she was in her 60s or 70s!
  19. Acrylic Latex Enamel? Three types of paint in one? Why???
  20. That's a pretty impressive project you have going!
  21. It's never too late to get into the hobby.

  23. What I do is wrap some masking tape inside out onto the end of a paintbrush handle so the end of the tape comes to a sticky point. Then touch the point of the tape to the part and transfer the part to where it's supposed to go. Sometimes I "release" the part by holding it in place with the tip of my X-acto blade while I pull the tape away (yes, that takes 3 hands... one to hold the paintbrush, one to hold the knife and one to hold the body (or whatever it is you're attaching the tiny part to). So I usually prop the body against something, in a position where it's easy to attach the small part).
  24. Don't know what sort of problem you had with final assembly, but whatever it was, you obviously overcame it. Nice model!
  25. Yeah, especially what's under that hood.
