  1. That'll never happen.
  2. If you try it, I think you'll like it. It's not too hard to get the hang of it, and once you have a basic understanding of how PS works, it can be pretty addictive!
  3. That's kind of old news, isn't it?
  4. I thought West Coast only did "premium" models at a premium price. 45 bucks is a bargain!
  5. Alclad and the various other "chrome" paints are ok... they'll give you a "chrome-like" look (actually more like polished aluminum)... but if what you want is that "chrome-plated" look, you're going to want to use a plating service like Chrome Tech. They vacuum plate the pieces the same way that kit chrome pieces are plated. A chrome paint will get you close to that look, but will never have the look that a vacuum-plated part has.
  6. My aunt used to have those clear plastic covers on her couch and living room chairs when I was a kid. I think maybe she was trying to kill us!
  7. You have the modeling skills down cold. Now all you need to do is learn how to take a photo that's in focus!
  8. ok... let's clear this up. The original question asked was what chemicals are found in styrene. The question was answered by referring to the wikipedia article. But as Christian pointed out, the plastic that most model kits are made of is polystyrene, which is a compound in which styrene is one of the components. Styrene on its own is carcinogenic, polystyrene has been accepted worldwide as being "safe"... after all, it's what many plastic food containers, and plastic knives, forks and spoons are made of!
  9. Wasn't the original question about styrene?
  10. From the same wikipedia article: On 10 June 2011, the US National Toxicology Program has described styrene as "reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen".[2][3] Uh oh...
  11. Yeah, but it's all about keeping you guys happy!
  12. Agree with Chuck. We need more info...
  13. John, completely over the top! It's just about as good as model building gets. Don't really know what else to say...
  14. Wow! Beautiful work!
  15. Ok... I know nothing about these cars... but that headlight arrangement? With the inner ones actually faired into the bodywork? Really?
  16. Looks very good so far.
  17. Very nice... but the spare wheel is sitting at a very odd angle...
  18. From a guy who uses Photoshop every day... it looks to me like those are not PS fakes. If they are, the guy is very, very, VERY good at PS.
  19. I agree with the gang... very nicely done. The "carpet" looks pretty good, and the engine detail is first rate! You know what look really cool? Rear window slats in flat back. You could scratchbuild the slats out of sheet styrene or even a file (index) card.
  20. Is that a diecast? If so, it's posted in the wrong place.
  21. Nice! But I think you should have added the "swept" area of the wipers on the windshield for that extra touch of realism...
  22. You do some very nice work!
