  1. Isn't that a picture of you before your morning coffee?
  2. Final vote: 57 REAL, 17 MODEL. You guys did it again! It's REAL!
  3. Here's an idea: do your best, and don't worry how much time it takes. A well-done model isn't judged by how long it took to build it. Once it's finished and on display, how long it took to build is completely irrelevant. What matters is the final product. So stop paying so much attention to how much time you're taking, and pay attention to your work. Quit watching the clock!
  4. Nice underhood detail!
  5. Yeah, but then they renamed it Pike's Pico de gallo...
  6. Excellent points regarding aluminum rod and chassis work, but the original question was specifically in regards to roll cages and exhaust systems, where aluminum rod works beautifully, using either CA or epoxy as the bonding agent.
  7. Something like that would generally not be glued. The cover either is a snap fit, or there are some screws on the back. Look it over carefully. Try removing the back cover and see if that exposes any screws. Somebody put it together... somebody can take it apart.
  8. Very cool model of a very cool car... But you're not going to get far without any mirrors...
  9. I used to work downtown, and drove to work every day (no public transportation for me!). Believe it or not, you actually get used to the traffic and the cabdrivers and the buses and the bicycle messengers and the clueless pedestrians. In all my years driving downtown five days a week, I was never involved in an accident. But I don't think I'd want to try that these days... I'm too used to "easy" suburban driving now. The downtown traffic would probably eat me alive!
  10. Very nice and clean. Of course they only looked that way once...
  11. Hey, it's your health and your life. Smoke away...
  12. Quitting "cold turkey" is tough. Not everyone has what it takes to do it that way. But congrats to you for doing it.
  13. Generally speaking... , not a fan of the GL (but it is nicely done)... but that Challenger looks very cool!
  14. But your lungs are taking a huge beating. And your arteries. And you're taking years off your life, and increasing your risk of getting cancer, emphysema and more. And stinking up the house. But hey, as long as you like it...
  15. Or just use aluminum rod.
  16. And what I like about them is that they're some of the best looking cars ever made!
  17. It's all about learning, evolving, and becoming a better modeler. By pointing out some areas where he could do better, maybe he listens and learns, and his next model comes out even better. Just giving the guy a pat on the back and telling him how fantastic the model is, while ignoring the obvious issues the model has, isn't doing him any favors in the long run. Of course, it's up to him whether to take any advice offered, or ignore it. That's his call.
  18. You have heater hoses, but no radiator hoses??? Also, no mirrors. inside or out? It's a nice, clean model but you're missing a few obvious things.
  19. Like this one? http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/36874-dr-pepper-clock-10-2-4-1950s
  20. I saw a video of it cruising around downtown on youtube.
  21. Color coats plus gloss clear... that's how real cars are painted...
  22. Nice work on that 5th wheel! You're quite the cratfsman...
  23. Yeah, he did... because at the time of the deal there was no "Jo-Han" left to speak of... and I assume he knew that going in. All he really got was the name, not much else. Okey's "Jo-Han" is in name only.
