  1. Final vote was pretty lopsided: 60 REAL, 8 MODEL. And you got it, it's REAL!
  2. All my models that are on display are on glass covered shelves. No way I would ever display a finished model just sitting out in the open. The dust problem alone is enough to make me put them all behind glass.
  3. Welcome aboard! (By the way... forum rule is full name in your signature line).
  4. Another one... drawn in Photoshop, same as the black one, this time with a "suede" midnight blue paint job.
  5. I do all my drawing/illustration in either Photoshop or Illustrator, and neither are cheap. But you can download free 30 day trials from the Adobe site and play around with them. There are other programs like Paintshop Pro, but I've never used anything but PS and Illustrator, so I can't comment on any other drawing programs. There is a "Photoshop Lite" version called Photoshop Elements, but again... never used it so I really can't say anything about it other than it's sort of a "Photoshop for Beginners" version of PS (same basic tools but none of the filters and effects and goodies you get with full-blown Photoshop).
  6. No, it's not a doctored photo. It's created completely with Photoshop. I do use a photo as a reference, the same way you use a person as a reference when you paint their portrait, but I did change a lot from the photo. For example, I did different wheels than what the car in the photo had. Here is a closeup, so you can better see how I "drew" it using the Photoshop drawing/painting tools. I drew this one using the exact same techniques that I used in the Photoshop tutorial I posted here.
  7. I don't think I've posted this one before... drawn in Photoshop.
  8. I have a Titanic in my "to do" pile of kits, a much bigger kit (1/350, from Minicraft, basically four times the size of that Revell kit). It has PE parts and is very detailed. I'm almost afraid to start on it, it's HUGE and has about a bazillion tiny parts. Some day...
  9. Keep 'em coming, Moebius! Man... after the Hudson and the C300, what do they do for an encore? Whatever it is, it's going to be good...
  10. Just to add to what Gregg said... we run with what we have. We like to give each contest a minimum of 4 pages. In a few cases, we just don't have enough photos from that particular contest to fill four pages, so we go with three. And sometimes, the photos submitted from a particular contest contain multiple photos from the same builder(s). Sometimes I get a lot of photos of models from the same builder(s). I first try to fill each contest's pages with photos from as many different builders that I can, and if I still have a few spots to fill after I've used up all the other photos, then I'll go back and drop in some of those photos from the same builders, to fill out the "holes." And sometimes the photos I get are so bad that they're literally not usable. Like I said, we run with what we have. Gregg can't personally cover as many contests as he used to, our "west coast guy," Darryl Gassaway, has said he wants to retire from the contest coverage, So we need some new people to step up and submit more contests. We can't feature a contest if we don't have any photos! (and captions, too!)
  11. Available from Frankin Mint in diecast form. http://diecastramblings.com/PhotosDM&FM56lincoln&continental.html
  12. It's part of the subscription.
  13. http://www.detailmaster.com/mm5/merchant.mvc
  14. Why is the "Oversize Load" sign upside down?
  15. I doubt that "Stoney Stone" is your real name.
  16. Did you get my PM?
  17. Could pass for real in those photos! Nice work...
  18. That's right, buddy. Don't mess with the LAW!
  19. A beautiful build of a beautiful subject. Doesn't get much better than that. I don't think there's any mystery as to why your model is getting rave reviews!
  20. You can. Just subscribe (although overseas subscription rates are not cheap!)
  21. I don't see the point of posting this here in the first place. If you have a problem with Brian's Model Car site, there's no need to bring that trouble over here.
  22. Could be that some people have been really wanting this one, so the price is driven up. Could also be that the seller has a buddy or two making fake bids, to drive up the price. If they can hook a buyer, they can sell for an inflated price.
