  1. The outer walls of the main cabin have been stained, and the window frames painted a cream color...
  2. The bolt head detail on the chassis parts are done with small round-head brass pins... Eventually these parts will be painted "steel" and then black washed to bring out the bolt head detail.
  3. Jumping around the instruction book... this is the framework of the roof structure. The reason the edges of the parts are so dark is because those edges are burned. Remember, the wood parts are laser-cut, so the edges of the parts will show the charring from the laser.
  4. Just heard it. Wow, didn't see that coming!
  5. My high school offered wood shop, electric shop, auto shop, foundry, heck, even aviation shop classes! That sort of education is sorely missed in today's high schools.
  6. Man, you guys are so literate. I think the last time I read a novel was because I had to... back in high school. Not that I am "anti" reading. Not at all. I just don't have the time.
  7. It's not about being perfect. Come on, man... how long have you been a member here? Are you seriously trying to tell me you still don't understand how this site works? Please...
  8. Have you ever seen a real car where the diameter of the spark plug wires was the same as the exhaust header pipes?
  9. But it made no sense in the real world. If it did, all drag cars today would be set up that way.
  10. My only question is why you posted this in the model CARS section and not in the section for VANS... forcing me to have to move it.
  11. It was incorrect, misguided thinking back in the day... before they knew better.
  12. "Nordic crime fiction?" Is that a thing?
  13. Ok, pardon my complete lack of knowledge of NASCAR... but I assume this is a "what if" sort of model? Very cool.
  14. Beautiful work, Matt!
  15. Technically there is no such thing as a '53 Corvette hard top. They were all convertibles.
  16. It's normal to lose the urge to build every so often. It happens to me all the time. Nothing to worry about. The urge will come back. In the meantime, forget model building and do other things. No sense forcing yourself to get in the mood, because if you force yourself to build, it defeats the whole point of what a "hobby" is and turns it into work, not pleasure. The urge will come back. Guaranteed.
  17. Nicely done in general, but your ignition wires are about the size of garden hoses!
  18. I looked it up. You are correct. Argentina converted from RHD to LHD in the 1940s.
  19. Are those the original promo's hubcaps? They seem to stick out way too far.
  20. On the front and back ends (remember, the front and back of the tram are identical), you form the curves on the face panel by gluing in a series of 2x2mm basswood strips. Sort of a clunky way to do it, IMO. I think a better solution would have been some thick cardstock, which would form a nice, smooth curve. Doing it according to the kit instructions means I'll have to fill the gaps with Bondo and then sand the curves smooth. Maybe I'll just go ahead and cover everything with some cardstock anyway...
  21. When I was a kid growing up in Chicago, we lived a half block away from the closest city park. The park was Kosciuszko Park. Guess how all us kids pronounced it? Koz-ee-ES-ko. We had no idea what the correct pronunciation should be. In fact. 99% of the time we just called it "Koz" park.
