  1. Oh, cool! I thought you meant the Wacom drawing tablet. I tried it and never really liked it because of the disconnect between the tablet and the screen. I might have to try the drawing monitor... that looks like it might be fun.
  2. Doesn't work that way for me. All I do is hover my pointer over the IMG code and it copies it automatically. It's actually one LESS step now to post pictures. You might want to upgrade to a better and more current browser. Web sites change all the time as web technology changes, and if you're looking at a new site through an old browser, the old browser might not be able to display the site correctly and may not be able to work the site's features correctly (or even "see" the features at all!) I recommend Firefox. It's free, it works great, and once you install it it automatically updates itself constantly... so you'll always be running a browser with the latest features and capabilities.
  3. There's one basic thing to remember: ALL "one part" putties–those that you squeeze out of a tube without mixing with anything else–dry via evaporation, same as how paint dries. In other words, part of the putty (the solvent) evaporates and leaves the hardened putty behind. Two problems with that: 1. Since a portion of the volume of the applied putty (the solvent) actually disappears as the putty hardens, there will be shrinkage. Sometimes the shrinkage doesn't appear until well after you've painted and finished the model. Of course, by then it's too late to fix the problem. 2. Sometimes you think the putty is dry and you go on with your work, but since the putty is drying via evaporation from the outside in, it may actually still be somewhat soft beneath the "hard" surface. Because of those problems, you're much better off using "two part" putties... the kind where you have to mix the resin (the "putty" part) with hardener. These types of putties come in separate containers (the resin and the hardener). They don't "dry," they harden via a chemical reaction between the resin and the hardener, like epoxy does. They don't rely on evaporation to harden, so they don't shrink. And because they "set" chemically instead of hardening by evaporation, once the chemical reaction has taken place, they are SET. No shrinking over time. For all around general modeling I think your best bet is Bondo "Professional" glazing putty. It's cheap, available at any auto parts store or even Walmart, and it's easy to use. But you have to be careful because Bondo also sells a one-part glazing putty that comes in a tube that looks almost identical to their two-part "Professional" stuff. You want the stuff labeled "Professional," that's the two- part kind.
  4. For model cars, 1/24 and 1/25 are the most common and most popular scales.... so you'll find the widest variety of kits in that scale.
  5. You mean a Wacom tablet, don't you?
  6. Now that's the best post here so far! Great news.
  7. I don't see any problems with the revised site. Yeah, it's different... but just as easy to use as ever, if not more so. And if you want to continue to enjoy their service for free, you have to understand that they have to make money somehow. Their employees have to be paid. So rather than charge us, the users, they run paid ads. What's the problem with that??? PS: Evilone, the bulk uploader is the link right below "upload now." How did it take you 15 minutes to find it???
  8. No comments on the missing exhaust?

  10. I like the diorama... but I love the cars! Beautiful!
  11. I was just looking at the photos again. Man, that is just absolutely outstanding work! Like I said, show those photos to someone who doesn't know it's a model and they'd never guess. It has just the right amount of detail, weathering, and miscellaneous bits and pieces. A 10+ for sure! You know how they say "you da man?" Well, you da man's man!
  12. Virgil, you have truly outdone yourself this time. Depending on the angle and how it was lit, that could easily pass for the real thing. (Don't forget a few pin-ups here and there... ol' Cranky would surely want a little "eye candy" of the female persuasion in his shop!)
  13. I don't think we have any other members here from Whitehorse. Welcome aboard... and stay warm!
  14. I don't get Rudolph driving it, but nice job!
  15. Seen in front of Diana Ross's high school...
  16. It seems so ridiculously obvious to me: if you post photos of your work on a public forum, then be prepared for comments from the members, positive and negative. If you can't take criticism, save yourself the trauma and just don't post your work! It seems ridiculous to me when people post their work on a forum and then get angry, offended or defensive if anyone points out a problem or flaw in their work. And the flip side of that, of course, is to keep your comments specific, direct, and if possible, offer a suggestion or solution to the problem you see. There is a difference between making an honest comment and slamming a guy.
  17. Better to turn to abject silliness than abject name calling... which is where this one was headed.
  18. What? You don't recognize the greatness of Barney Fife???!!! Man, he totally carried Andy... and Thelma Lou was hotter than Helen Crump any day...
  19. Well, obviously if there's a Tuesday afternoon, there had to be a Tuesday morning before that!!!
  20. Are those two skeletons ex-NBA players? They must be about 7 1/2 scale feet tall!
  21. Nothing needs removing yet, but like the great Barney Fife, I just want to "nip it in the bud"...
  22. Gentlemen... let's not turn this topic into a locked thread. If any of you want to engage in a war of words or get into personal issues, you have access to the PM function. As far as making observations on the accuracy of the kit (or lack of), that's fine... but getting into who's a poopie-head and who's a doo-doo head isn't getting anything accomplished.
  23. Yeah, but just think... owning this car instantly transforms your two-car garage into a four-car garage!
  24. Year, make and model. PM me with your answer. The answer: Th!nk City
