  1. Member of about 4-5... basically, signed up, posted for a while, then lost interest on each. Was an active SA member for many years until it got to the point that I couldn't take it any more, which is when I came here. Currently active on this one only. No time for much else.
  2. danno-"Moebius has involved Art Anderson to at least some extent in vetting the Hudson ... so far. That indicates to me that they are interested in serious feedback before the project gets too far downstream. Art won't lead them astray or let them wander astray .... so long as they pay close attention to his observations/comments/advice. There just aren't any more knowledgeable resources that know both vintage vehicles and the model production business inside & out, IMHO. At least it seems to me that it is a very good sign." Khart–"I agree. Art has a connection to Moebius, too. Both he and Dave Metzner, the man calling the shots at Moebius, used to work for Polar Lights." mark taylor–"Connections to Polar Lights when it comes to automotive subjects do not add up to the greatest past track record. I'm hopeful Mobius can make the kinds of worthwhile kits PL couldn't, but not blindly so." Art... I'm just trying to make sense of the conversation here...
  3. Mirrors came today. Woo Hoo!!! Now I have a weekend job to do... cold air intake kit next...
  4. BTW... don't know if you mentioned this or not, but what are you using to build the kit? CA?
  5. Nice job opening up the alternator... it'll look really cool with the coils inside. I agree it's still way too textured, the surface texture is out of scale. I'd sand the whole thing smooth... whatever texture an alternator has would disappear in 1/8 scale. However, the texture does work on the heads and the block... you just have to remember to "choose your spots" for the texture.
  6. I dunno... that girl at the top looks like a Mustang of the Year owner to me... And that other guy looks mighty nervous...
  7. Uh, didn't Polar Lights' car model kits have a less than stellar reputation? I guess I don't see a Moebius connection with Polar Lights as necessarily being such a big selling point for Moebius... Oh, well, it's all nothing but speculation at this point...
  8. Chicago White Sox... car? Not a clue...
  9. ok, now I see where you guys would be hyped up on their upcoming car kits, then...
  10. Are these kits the first cars Moebius has ever done? I looked at their website... seems like they basically re-issue old Aurora monster kits with a few odd sci-fi kits thrown in the mix. So regarding Ken's post... how does their current lineup necessarily mean their car models will be top notch? I don't see much of a connection between what they currently offer, and any new car kits to come... but Ken seems to be pretty sure that top quality car kits from them are just about a sure thing. Don't mean to we a wise guy, I'm seriously asking. I never heard of this company until I saw their display at last year's Hobby Expo, so I have no idea...
  11. Of course you do realize that we were only kidding about a Recipe category... Although I do like to eat...
  12. My opinion is just that... my opinion. I thought it through and came up with what I think makes sense. That's why I'm sorta pushing my idea... because I think it works. Whether or not Gregg wants to use my suggestion, or anyone else's, is totally his call. That's why I said it's up to Gregg to either follow my suggestion, or change it, or do something else entirely, or do nothing at all. He's the boss here, not me. If you have a better proposal than what I came up with, post it! That's what this topic is all about!
  13. Geez... you have a little bit of talent there... Actually a whole lotta talent! Very impressive! What you've done goes beyond model building and straight into art.
  14. All are very cool, but I gotta say the white one does it for me...
  15. I can tell you right now that it is definitely from planet Earth...
  16. Is your real name Andy Martinez???
  17. Where they belong, hopefully... If we make this change it'll take a week or two before it all shakes out... but trust me, this place will be more user-friendly, easier to navigate and hopefully a better on-line experience for all of you. This all depends, of course, on when (actually even IF) Gregg decides to make this happen. After all, he has the ultimate say-so. All I can do is make my suggestions. Whether he takes my suggestion and runs with it, or alters it, or does something completely different (or nothing at all!)... it's up to him. They don't call him the Big Kahuna for nothing...

  19. Guys, this is so simple! It's not rocket science... really! There would be a "Showcase" for finished cars in the CARS section. ALL finished car models. There would be a "Showcase" for finished trucks in the TRUCKS forum. ALL finished truck models. Can you guess where a finished truck model might belong??? And any models in progress would go into the appropriate CARS or TRUCKS sub-category, using your own common sense as to where to post. There cannot ALWAYS be exact, black/white cutoff points... there will be overlap, that's understood. Post your model where you think it belongs based on the name of the sub-category. Really, why are you guys trying so hard to over-complicate what is so simple and logical?
  20. It's impossible to make everyone happy, but it is possible to arrange things more logically than they are now. And once you get those projects done it's obvious where you would post them: In the Model Car SHOWCASE. See how simple?
  21. You mean Giordano's... Actually, West Chicago is straight south of me down Rt. 59 about 7-8 miles...
