  1. I'll tell ya what irked me today...... I received the annual notice from Social Security telling me that my monthly benefit would be increasing by 2% due to the cost of living increase. That monthly increase would work out to just under $24 based on what my monthly payment is... Then it advises that the amount being deducted from my payment for Medicare is increasing by just under $23. So........... my net increase is a whopping, whole $1.00. Gotta love it...!!!
  2. Welcome to our plastic playground Gregory.
  3. Between this month and last month I've added to my 1950's car collection for the year 1954. I picked up a '54 Buick promo, a '54 Corvette diecast, a '54 Mercury resin kit from Hendrix, a '54 Plymouth promo, and a '54 Studebaker promo (all at reasonable prices on EBAY.) I already had a '54 Cadillac diecast, a '54 Chevy diecast, a '54 Dodge resin kit, and a Moebius '54 Hudson kit. Now all I have to do is either build or rebuild them. I'm on the lookout for a decent '54 Pontiac.
  4. Absolutely... I did the M80, firecracker and lighter fluid games too, but mostly with my Military models (Tanks, Halftracks, Jeeps, Deuce and a halfs). I never blew up or burned my cars but I did often strip some older built ones to reuse parts on other cars. Brush painting thick coats of enamel colors, getting that awful, stringy tube glue in places where it shouldn't have been... When I couldn't afford to go buy a new model I'd scrounge through my big box of leftover parts to cobble together something. Yeah, great memories.

  6. Yeah, I remember Grossinger's. Used to go there with my wife's parents a few times in the early 70's... Great food in its heyday. Rented a snowmobile up there once and went off their mapped out course and rode all over the golf course... They had to send someone out to get me to come back.
