  5. Great saves on those promos Glen. It can obviously be a real chore to work on some old, warped, cracked & damaged promos but you've obviously got the patience and skills to bring them back. I've got one '58 Desoto promo that has the Johan "smile" that I've been putting off working on. The other '50's promos I have are just either missing glass or interiors. Each one will get its turn on the bench eventually.
  6. Great work on all those resin cars & trucks Glen. I also like "different" and so far have built over a dozen resin kits from Modelhaus, ReplMinCoMD, Hendrix, etc... I've still got about a half dozen "in the To Do pile" along with a bunch of old promos of 50's cars.
  7. Welcome to our plastic playground Greg. I also built models in my early teens but then discovered girls, cars, and bars where I originally lived on Long Island in NY. We moved to PA in late 2006. My daughter's husband's parents live in Irwin.
  8. Doug, the Canadian shops should be getting the issues again. Some of them were "on Hold" due to payment issues, but now that Gregg can accept Canadian shop payments by credit card and/or PayPal they should be getting the magazines.
  9. Welcome to our plastic playground Tom. I also started building models as a teenager, and am now also 70.

  12. I agree with Steve re using embossing powder for carpeting. My suggestions were for using flocking for upholstery.

  15. Michael, first paint the part to be flocked with the color of paint that closely matches the color of the flocking you are using. After the paint dries, then paint on a fairly wet layer of watered down Elmer's Glue. Do it in sections so the glue doesn't dry before you apply the flocking. Then sprinkle on the flocking using a small strainer, applying about an eighth inch of flocking. Let it sit for a moment, then gently press the flocking down into the Glue using the tip of your finger. Let it sit again for a few minutes and then turn the part over and tap the bottom of the part to knock off the excess flocking onto a paper plate. If you've done it correctly, the flocking should come out nice and even with no thin spots to show through.
  16. Hope you have a great day Kerry.

  21. That is looking great so far Michael, and yes...... more pictures please.
  22. I've been doing some telephone work for Gregg over the last few months to help him out. My background is in Commercial Business To Business A/R Collections (32 years). It seems that some Hobby Shops have been "behind" in their payments for the magazine issues they have received. In some cases newer issue shipments of the magazines are held up until those Hobby Shops pay the balances due. Gregg is now able to take credit card and PayPal payments from Canadian Shops so most of them should soon be back on track for receiving the magazines. As far as what Mike stated above, yes, there are numerous personal, medical and financial issues that Gregg has to deal with on a daily basis that we all don't hear about (or need to hear about) in order to get the magazines out. He is doing the absolute best that he can do considering all the obstacles he is faced with. Hang in there guys. Gregg needs and appreciates all the support that we can give him.
