  1. This car holds a big place in my heart, & these builds cement that! Nice work, Doc!
  2. Hey Mike. Revell '66 chevelle wagon has nice Large diameter Daisys.
  3. YES! When I was about 12 I went to a good friends house to play football (yardball!). We got tired before his big brother & his friends, so went inside to build. When I didn't show up at 0-dark:30 pm, Mom called & no one knew where we were! After several panicked hours of searching, Gary's Mom decided to check his room at 10:30 or so & found us both asleep! Everyone was so happy we were OK, we didn't even get in trouble!
  4. ]...Thanks for cleaning that up! I was on my way to talk to my wife.......Whew!
  5. I'm gonna ride along with ya on this one Ira. Very cool!
  6. LOVE the Fiat!! I'm definitely glued now! I'm thinking...Yellow?...Lol. Fun looking project.
  7. I like the GTX. I suppose you know you pictured a '70 El Camino?
  8. I'd have to say finishing it. I've only done that once in the last 30 yrs. I have 13 in various stages of construction.
  9. I remember mine from the '70s was molded in orange with 5-slot wheels & exhaust stacks thru the running boards. It DID have a diamond tufted bed cover to match the seat & working windows. Wow, I might have to get one for nostalgia's sake!
  10. You're killing me! This is worse than getting ketchup out of a new bottle, LOL!!! I can't wait to see what's gonna spin those meats!!!
  11. I dig it! My mother remarried in '76 & we had to move. She said I could pick out 10 models to take with me. Man what a choice! I crammed as much as I could into the 10 biggest model boxes I had (1 was the Big T . I never counted, but at least 1 & sometimes 2or3 every weekend for 6 1/2 yrs! Do the math, thats alot of plastic somewhere in a landfill! So many would be collectors items now!
  12. HMMmmmm......How well does styrene hold up after 40-50 yrs in the ground? Anyone up for an archaeological expedition?
  13. Welcome. Nice build. Excellent introduction!!!!
  14. MCW has fenderwell headers from the Johan '64 Dodge.
  15. .......DING, DING, DING! We have a winner. When we find the survivors, we tend to hoard them!
  16. Love Henry J's almost as much as wagons! What did you use to make it a delivery? Love the whole idea.
  17. ......You provided me with quality parts that make my models go from cool to believable!! Someone once said..."Find something you love to do for a living & you'll never work a day in your life"!
  18. .....Could be technology. I'm here on a cell phone, & I can't judge paint jobs other than color. But I can see good planning & execution pretty well. Maybe info's getting lost because of size?
  19. I did it with my 1st kit in 1970.
  20. ......We must be twin sons of different mothers!
  21. I agree with everything said so far. Being "reborn" into the hobby recently, I comment only on models I can praise. There are too many more experienced & talented modelers here for myself to be giving ANY advice or criticisms no matter how constructive. That said, the ONLY reason I would ever post a build here would be to take advantage of the more knowledgeable artists on this forum. To have the opportunity to learn from master craftsmen-for FREE-is a win/win situation whether your 12 or 50!! The only thing I could add to this thread is that it should be required reading!!!i
  22. That is really beautiful! It just "flows" like liquid in motion. WOW!!
  23. I, too, am going thru a bike "phase" again. 1/24 Harleys for me. What scale is your Trumpet?.....FYI, the term "chopper" originated in the late '40s as men were coming home from WWII. They had more $ than most of them had ever seen thru the depression. Alot of guys, especially those who rode the flathead 45s in the war bought Harleys & began "chopping" off the fenders & other non-essential equipment to go faster. Hence "chopper". Todays long-forked descendents started showing up in the early '60s.
  24. I have several posters & a coffee table book of his complete works. WAY ahead of his time!!
  25. VERY sharp.
