  1. I like it.
  2. To get technical, the thread title and 1st post would suggest new parts could be used on Rat Rods but other styles must use leftovers or parts box bits only. Doesn't matter at all to me, just saying that's how it reads.
  3. I'm in. I just started slicing & dicing leftovers from VERY pirated kits of a Prowler snap kit and an '05 Chrysler 300. Not a rat, but nothing purchased for it. No telling what drive train, frame etc. I will come up with yet!
  4. That's the one I had! Got it for Christmas '75 (?) & put Tonka wheels on the back (UGLY) cuz they were the only wide tires I could find big enough.
  5. I got SS stripes for my '69 phantom truck! The last piece of the puzzle. YEAH!!! Now if it would just dry up enough here to allow me to paint........
  6. Pious bovine droppings!!!!i
  7. WOW! Thanks for the kind words. I've always had a generous nature, but I'm really only paying it forward, Jason. I had some amazing kindness bestowed upon me after 30+ yrs out of the hobby. Strangely enough, it started with a vendor, Dave Neighbors (dave@newtsboneyard.com) & continued w/guys on this forum. Crazyjim,sstacey47,a/gass, midnightprowler, bridgebuster. Just to name a few Alot of great guys here who want nothing more than to help increase interest in the greatest hobby in the world! All I could hope is that you get as much happiness from this as I do & pay it forward when your time comes!
  8. Very cool. This kit will be my next completion, wish mine looked this nice!
  9. Attaboy, dude! Groovy scoot. Putt, putt my brother!
  10. GROOVY,man! I'd love to see the doors closed as well as the other side of the bus.
  11. Awesome imagineering, love the concept and execution. What scale is it?
  12. I'm not much on dios, but I always look at every day objects & try to imagine how I can incorporate them into my models. Look at all things small from all angles and before you know it, you'll see a workbench, or a bench vise, or who knows. Toys are a great place to start. I have used many of my kids old toys or parts of them fot things they weren't meant for! I would guess at your age you have everything in your room, house & garage without buying a thing. Imagination is the key. Empty CO2 cartridges make great acetylene tanks e.g. Pry it out of your mind & make it happen!

I'm getting a picture in my mind Jim.
  14. Just like my bull dogs!!!
  15. Quite impressive. Not surprising since I followed along, but WOW!

After looking at the Outlaw again, I can see that happening, indeed!
  17. ...I still have one of his hands!
  18. I get a lot of stuff from Scale Dreams. The prices are about the same anywhere I've seen & they stock items from many different aftermarket companys so it saves on shipping costs if you are buying a wide assortment. But other guys have been doing this alot longer, so wait & see who else chimes in! Maybe I'll find some place better too, lol.

... After you widen it (& shorten it:Grandpa McGurk-nice) maybe remove the "mandibles" & you would have enough room for many grille choices. A '63-'67 Vette comes to mind as well.
  20. I wish you had more confidence in your builds, Andy. But, flip side of the same coin; being your own worst critic is a sign of a maturing artist. Modeling is a form of sculpture, so I think that applies here.
  21. No 2nd steering wheel for me in'78. I've never heard of it, but small mid-west towns wouldn't be as apt to want, need, or have $ to spend on it?
  22. I say make it a CBP. Everything in my studio fits in this category! Maybe I can post pics by the time it gets organized!

.......Maybe something more mainstream that would be diguised by the cars overall design: '41 Willys, '55 Chevy, Jag XKE, etc. Just a thought.
