2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Dirkpitt289 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
This is a great build topic. Love it -
@ Bob, thanks for that link. Good stuff there Here's the finished instrument panel Front suspension installed Painting and building the cage I seriously thought about pluming the fire estinguisher (Red Bottle) but photos of these cars have been hard for me to find let alone photos on the interior. I'd have no idea where to run the tubing to. The top of the body also got a shot of white Thanks for taking the time to look at my work

'70 Donohue Javelin - E-bay Madness
Dirkpitt289 replied to Crazy Ed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My question is "Will the buyer build it?" or sit on it. I can't believe this kit will ever be worth more then the $700 or so he paid for it. -
eBay is simply crazy

What some people seem to forget, me included is that if you look around a bit you will find that same kit elsewhere on the web for less or the same price (usually better shipping costs) from a dealer. I like to use evilBay as a catalog of whats available. -

What's nuts is that so far 38 people (as of this post) have bid on it. Is this the Holy Grail of plastic model kits? -

I love that Javelin. I saved it so I can try and find it another time. -

An Age Old Question I'm Sure
Dirkpitt289 posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm relatively new to modeling (Feb will be 4 years since my return) but even newer to cars. Since I've been back I've spent all my time building military aircraft. So now that I've been bit by the auto bug I have some questions. When it comes to aircraft there are literally tons of places to get aftermarket decals allowing a builder to build the same kit over and over without building the same aircraft. Is the same thing possible with cars? Is there a source to get different decals to make different cars? At the moment I'm looking to see if I can find the Boss 302 "C" stripe for a newer Boss mustang. I can only imagine there are so many sites for thousands of different race cars as well. Can anyone point me in the right direction? -
Here's what I got over the Christmas holiday. I have to admit I bought everything in this lot myself This next lot was from my lovely girlfriend. In the grand scheme of things I made it easy for her. She was able to get them all in one place. Talk about one stop shopping. With all these kits why do I still feel the need to buy more? I really want to go out and get a 66 Mustang convertible for a project I've been dying to build for a while now. Am I sick?

After reading this I started searching (Fruitless) for the Sonny and Cher Cougars. I remember seeing a pictorial years ago in Mustang monthly. I can't remember much other then they were heavily modified, ugly and the dashboards were covered in shag carpet. Just thought it would make an interesting project.

Here is the start of my 86 Bruce Jenner Driven Mustang GTO The 600+HP Rouche motor. The directions called out for the motor to be painted silver. To be honest I couldn't find anything that proved or disproved that and since I like the Ford Blue better I went with that instead. I just like it better :102: Distributor set The painting and assembly of the frame work also started. here you can see the battery box in place and the oil tank drying Radiator and cover

Someone built one and posted the finished product here on the forum. I stumbled upon it one day and PM'ed the person but he never responded. I just was going through my messages to see who it was and I can't figure out who it was sent to. It shows the message but not who I sent it to. I'll try to find it again tonight if time permits
