I've wanted to but never have. I have been tossing around doing my first 3 cars which was a 65 Mustang Convertible 6cyl (Finding a 6 cyl engine is the hard part) 65 Mustang 2+2 and an 83 Mustang GT. I've been having a hard time finding the 83 kit also. I know they make it but the cost can get up there

Airbrush trigger feels "sticky"
Dirkpitt289 replied to Jared Roach's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've had the same issue with my Badger 175. I feel I give it a good cleaning after every use but it keeps happening regardless. I never knew about using a lubricant. There is no mention of in in the manual but I guess it couldn't hurt. My girlfriends family owns a string of jewelry/ Pawn shops. I've just recently started taking my brush over every so often for a dip in the ultrasonic cleaner. Now that I know harbor Freight has them I'll be looking into getting my own. Harbor freight is the best! I can't count the tools that I've bought for modeling from harbor freight for a fraction of the cost of the LHS. I love my LHS as well but I gotta draw the line somewhere, eh. Besides if I save cash on the tools I can turn around and buy more kits. -
I just finished that very kit this week. As has already been stated it's based off of a dicast kit. Although I had some issues with the kit I loved it. You may want to take a look at my build as I think I touched on most of the kits pitfalls. I will be getting another one or maybe two of these kits myself. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51247 Best of luck with you're build. i hope you plan to share it with us.

@ Hotrod59f100. What did you use to make the fuel cans in the trunk?? By the way, nice Chevelle diymirage -
Nice work Frank. I see you foil your window frames in one shot. That must make the task pretty quick but uses a lot of foil

Michaels Reset?
Dirkpitt289 replied to RickRollerLT1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
All the Michel's by me have the same old stuff. A hand full or 1/48 scale aircraft a PT109 and Titanic. There is also a mix of plastic and prepainted metal cars but its the same cars over and over again. Then the surprising part for me is that the kits at my LHS are actually cheaper then those at the big chain Michael's. To be fair that doesn't take into account sales, coupons and web offerings that the LHS doesn't offer. Of course my LHS has an isle about 50 feet long with both sides filled with cars where as Michael's has an 8 foot one side only. -
a CBP proposal Mad Max 4: Fury Road, build the next Interceptor
Dirkpitt289 replied to Lownslow's topic in Community Builds
I found a kit for this build completely by accident. I went to my LHS yesterday and found the AMT 73 Mustang kit. Having just watched "Gone in 60 Seconds" the day before I was jacked to build the original Eleanor. Well lo and behold wen I got home the kit was not what they portrayed on the box top. There is no way you can build a stock 73 Mustang with this kit. After a quick search of the internet I found that I wasn't the first person to be duped by AMT. WTF!?!?!?! I was really pissed but then it dawned on me that it would be perfect for this build so.... Not sure when I'll start but it should be soon. -

If this is true then maybe there will be a re-release of Max's ride. I can't stomach the prices I keep seeing on EvilBay -
Lets do a 1964 1/2-1973 Mustang CBP to go with the others!

Impressive work on the coup Ryan. Very impressive -
Outstanding. I just sent you a PM pryor to seeing this. I look forward to seeing what they look like. I saw a resin hood on EvilBay that I thought would also work for this build. I'll see if I can find it. This could be just the thing to get me to build a newer mustang sooner rather then later.

WOW, good stuff Frank. Who donated the roof? I also like your wheels. I'm sure that having a roof will negate the reasons for that piece behind the drivers head from rising and lowering. (See 4th picture from the top of this thread to see what I mean) Not that I know what that does in the first place. I would suspect that its to far forward to be a spoiler. I really want to see more of your build. Time to get working on Jennifer Lopez. I started with the undercarriage. I usually like to build production and race cars. I'm not really a "Show Car" guy. I'm not in slamming cars or multi-colored fancy interiors etc. It's not that I have anything against that sort of thing its just not MY thing. So this is a first for me making a "Show Car." The supercharged 4.6L 4v V-8 with 450-horsepower was repainted and mounted in the chassis. It's not a V-8 but at that horse power how can I complain? The completed rear suspension. It's funny how the camera highlights things that are hardly visible in person. I guess I'm going to need to take a brush and touch up the undercarriage a bit. Those speckles of white look horrendous. Thanks for looking

Nice bit-O-plastic surgery. Very impressive. -
I'm still unsure at this time. I don't have either of the Ford colors in my collection so I was thinking of using a color I do have (FLOQUIL Maroon). I went to the local train shop today and looked through their colors and that didn't have anything that matched either. Part of me seems to be leaning toward the red/ orange but I'm still not sure. Time will tell. All input is welcome.

This is the 1992 Mustang Mach III Concept, probably the most familiar concept Mustang. This two-seater roadster was created to spark interest before the release of the 1994 Mustang. It had a supercharged 4.6L 4v V-8 with 450-horsepower, 440 ft-lbs. of torque, a top speed of 180 mph, a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds, and a 1000-watt stereo system. From what I can tell there was 2 prototypes of this car. One was a Red/ Orange and the other was Green. From what I understand the Red orange one was destroyed in a fire. The final remaining model--the green one pictured below--sold at Christie's Auction in 2002 for $491,500. Here is the other one Personally, I’m glad the Guys and Gals over at Blue Oval never choose to mass produce this thing. Seriously, doesn’t it look like the offspring of a really portly Pony and a old Hyundai Tiburon? In all fairness, it’s pushing over 400HP, and I actually kind of like the interior. Every time i look at this car it reminds me of Jenifer Lopez. Onto the kit. I bought this off Evilbay for 99 cents (Not sure I like this car enough to have paid market value for it)not including shipping. The box was tattered and the kit was started. I left the assembled motor alone but disassembled the bits attached to the ubdercarrage More to follow. Thanks for looking
