  6. Looking great! I need to pick you done of those nuts.
  7. I have never seen one of these but, so i am looking forward setting this one built, and it looks like you are going toy do a great job.
  8. Thanks so much for the info everyone! I really liked the Kelsey-Hayes as wire wheels but can see some other uses now. As for the Halibrands, great looking wheels, just wish they were directional per side. It always seems like one side is backwards.
  9. I have a couple set of parts box finds, that I do not know the kit source. The first set have a 60s hot rod/racer look, but the directional aspect kind of throws me. I am not sure if these are a complete set, or a two sets of the same "side" or direction. For the wire wheels, are they custom, or "make" specific, like Pontiac? Again, kit source would be interesting.
  10. Very interesting project! Funky spare wheel placement, but those wheels on the car look like actual spokes, in some pictures it looks like you can sees through the spokes. Are they?
  11. What did you use under the embossing powder? I have had a hard time getting it to stick without bare spots.
  12. I am digging this project.
  13. Looks really good!
  14. Very sharp
  15. OK, let me try the pics again.
  16. Sorry guys, i will to repost the pics... Thanks for the info Rick. There are not very pics at all online.
  17. I was hoping to have Cricket done this weekend, but I cannot get the sub-assemblies together. For some reason the paint will not cure. This is Scalefinishes Peterbilt Green, acrylic enamel. I really like the color and it shot on very well. I put the body into the dehydrator for several days, and it leveled out great. I started with a 3400 grit sanding cloth, and worked up to 12000, and then back into the dehydrator where it set for several more days, and leveled out to where you would e left with only polishing.....BUT...it still has not cured. I talked to someone at Desert Scale Classic this weekend, who said that maybe I should by some hardener and when I use the acrylic enamels drop 4-5 drops into the 2 ounce bottles. Anyone else need to do that with some of these pre-thinned paints? As it stands now, I will set this project back aside for as long as it takes the paint to harden up. I do not want to rush it, and mess up the still tacky paint as it cannot stand up to the handling needed for final assembly. It is not so bad that finger prints would happen, but there is a tack to it, so the dust on the fingers start to stick to the paint, and roughen up the surface. Anyone else have this issue? Any rate, here it is mocked up. Nothing is glued, it is just sitting here. 18. Had a fantastic time! I got to see some great models, talk to some good people I have not had much chance to speak with at length before, and I finally made it to the BBQ after the show for the first time, and I am very glad I did. Thanks to the folks at Cactus Car Modelers club for putting it together!
  19. My first finished project of the year! Finally! Sorry, I did a lousy job keeping photos. This started life as an Aurora kit, 1/32 scale, multi-pieced body kit, thus the moniker 32-32. This one had the molded in chassis, with exhaust, side pipes, and rear axle all molded in place. I cut out the chassis to add the rear end, scratch built the links, aluminum tube for exhaust and the mufflers were pilfered from an AMC Hornet chassis that was on the parts bin. They looked undersized for 1/25 scale, so they looked right here. Same with the Ala-Kart motor to some extent. Gas tank is from the parts bin, and am not even sure the kit source. The wheels and tires are also parts box, and I were supposed to be 1/25th but looked undersized as well. Shot with Testors Deep Purple Pearlescent decanted and shot through my airbrush. This was intended to be a fun departure for me. I think it turned out OK, but there are things I wish I had done better. Thanks for looking. What I started with. became ... Mark A Hubbard
