Box stock. The side glass presents some fit challenges, as does the side marker lights(too big) but overall a nice little kit. Cobra Colors from old stock I had on hand, their clear as well. The wheels were a pain to mask but I think it was worth the three attempts. LOL

In the backstretch now. I have not taken as many in process pictures as I intended, I just got caught up in building. At any rate, I have to finish it today so if I go to the Desert Scale Classic tomorrow as planned (some chance I may not get to go) it can go. I was wondering how to duplicate the grill emblem, and while I was asleep last night, it just came to me, "tape it dummy" so I did using Scalefinishes very fine Jammydog tape.. I had a little bleed through but that was my not so steady hands not getting the tape down good before the paint.

Anderson Indiana club

By all means, if I still lived in the area, you could count me in! I know there are folks on the forum here that live close, like in Pendleton. Years ago, I put on a show in Muncie, that I thought would be kinda small, but turned out really well, actually over attended, so...maybe there is still people around. -

Contest Annual

I cannot speak for others, but as for me, when magazines stopped putting them in the little plastic sleeves, I stopped subscribing. I do not like the damage that often occurs. -
Contest Annual

Wow, weeks ago!? I have been looking at my LHS, and have not seen it and they normally call me when new issues come in because they hold them back for me. I have also been looking at the book store, not seen it there. The last time I looked at the website it was not listed, but I see it there today. Not sure when they updated that, but it appears they just updated the Facebook page on 04/05/14. Thanks guys. I just knew as soon as I asked, it would "appear". Figures -
I searched the forum, and have not seen anything an any new contest annuals for this year. Did I miss it, or was a Modelcars Mag Contest Annual not release this year?

Monogram Beer Wagon another one after 35 years

Looks good so far! You can also pick up decal paper at Hobby Lobby in the model isle near the paints. -
Yeah, there is an IPMS chapter that puts on a good show in December, when weather is very nice, in a very nice venue, and they are pretty car friendly. BUT...it is still not the Desert Scale Classic. So, I say find a way to get out here in Dec on a vacation, bring the family, then they will say, "oh yeah, that place is awesome, we gotta move there"..because the weather will be perfect etc etc. then, you will be here for both shows, each year! Plus, California is a few hours away, then you could make some shows there as well.

Well, I am getting a lot done on the little Renault. Sadly, most of the little things that make a final impact, but not so much that when you walk away from the bench, it "looks" like a lot is done. Starting on the foil, and noticed I will have to go back it with some washes again. Not sure why, but the flat black I used is turning white. It is Tamiya acrylics, using their thinner, so maybe next time I use just a little water instead.

And then flings rock and other debris up onto you at the same time.

Charlie, of the three original pictures posted, the one with the crushed car is from a post card that you see a lot around here. It has some facts about the cactus. Like Danno said, they are very slow growing, and a 10 year old plant might only be 1.5 inches tall. Saguaro can grow to be between 40-60 feet tall (12-18m). When rain is plentiful and the saguaro is fully hydrated it can weigh on average 100 lbs per foot. There is more info here.

Mine is packed away or I would share some pictures. I simply measured the single bay door, and using sheet styrene create a second bay door area and the remaining walls, interior and exterior, pretty much as Tom suggested above. The floor I cut most of the slope Tom is talking about away, and was planning on creating new sidewalks/curbs from plaster or similar. I also extended the floor. Now, I stopped on my project because I just did not feel that my weathering skills were good enough at that point to really make the garage turn out the way I want it to. I would like to pull it out again in the next year or two and start again as I have been learning a lot about weathering the last couple years. There are some VERY good diorama builders here on this forum, and here are a couple links to garage projects that may give you some inspiration. There are many more, but these really captured my attention. This first one is one of my favorites, and one of the reasons I hesitate to start back on mine. The detail is so nice on this one. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64999&hl= http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35045&hl= This one is just plain cool, but then you get the weathering ideas again http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68085&hl= There are also some old blueprints on there too, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77245&hl= And while not showing anything on the inside, this has some great weathering ideas here. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86438&hl= In short, do not let the lack of those walls, or roof, or whatever keep from this kit. It can be a great starting point for you.

I used to have one of those trailers, but somehow I have nooo idea where it went. Your dragster looks really good sitting there.
