  3. Where is the thumbs up icon? looks great Tom!
  4. That looks great! In 1984 I had a little green Capri, and that car was a BLAST to drive. Light, zippy, did not grip the road very well tho, so there was also some slip sliding especially in winter. My Dad was driving it and a lady ran a stop sign and t-boned it. She told my Dad she was sorry, her and her friend were talking about beans of all things. LOL I have a rally style body that I was going to build into a modern Touring car at some point. Not sure the source, I have had it for ages.
  5. I really enjoy looking at these "subtle" customs, where the work is so seemless, you may miss where the work was actually done had you not pointed it out, because the changes look "right", not just for the sake of change. I have looked at this project multiple times, and appreciate the elegance each and every time.
  6. What a great idea! BUT...I have very little graphic skills on a program like that. I also would not even know where to begin to get that lettering that would need to be in there......so.. Any chance that you saved your hard work as a file......that you would be willing to share?
  7. Welcome Tim! There are some great clubs in yuor area, and several shows that are not going to be far from you throughout the year as well. Do not worry about stupid questions. Ask away. The nice thing about the online community, is that feedback is quick, and your learning curve and be quickly smoothed out. Enjoy!
  8. Not sure what to say as so many others have already said most of it. Great work for sure. I like the looks of this car a lot, but it seems that with the angle of the front end on the real car, and it's sitting so high, seems there would not be nearly enough down force to keep this thing under control if it were up to speed.
  9. I just flat think it is wonderful that you are having a father son project.
  10. You did it justice! Nice work.
  11. That looks fantastic!
  12. That can be a very fun and satisfying way to build a kit now and then, and the results can still be a good looking model to sit on the shelf. Kudos!
  13. Very impressive!
  14. It's also a fellowship opportunity. A "run what you burng" kinda thing, so bring them on out! So even if you do not bring anything to enter into competition, you can still share your in progress builds, or chat with others and nab some tips or suggestions. I learn something new all the time. I forget a lot too tho...

I also hate being asked "why....(fill in the blank)" then no matter WHAT my answer is, being asked, "why are you making excuses"? Umm, because you specifically asked me.
  16. Thanks again everyone! Yes Scott, this is the Heller Kit.
  17. So glad to get to see this in person today. Great work!
  18. Had a great time today! Great seeing and chatting with everyone, some for the first time!
  19. Here here! VERY glad I got to see this up close. Congratulations!
  20. Thanks everyone! Jim, I really like the wheels. If I were to do another kit, I would build it with more details.I really like these wheels, and I would put the bolts on that hold the outer wheels. Tom, I look forward to seeing yours when you build it.
  21. Saw this kit in person today. Jonathan brought his to the Desert Scale Classic, and all I can say is wow. Very nice kit.
  22. Finding out that this STUPID Heartbleed Bug is causing me to have to change a ton of passwords, not know if it is to late to prevent any damage done or not.
  23. Thanks! Very cool! From what I have looked at online, it looks like a very cool little car. It also looks like could be quite fun.
  24. Well, I got it done this morning. As soon as I post the pictures, I am off to Desert Scale Classic. Here are all the pictures at http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88265
