Nice! -
I think it is very cool that you and your son are collaborating on a project. While you may not share the same stylistic preferences, the simple fact that you share interest in cars is great. Whatever you son's age, I highly respect spending productive bonding time with them.

Bench cleaning
Modelbuilder Mark replied to Modelbuilder Mark's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This sounds on par with my methodology. A flying piece of photo etch today, then seeing the plastic shavings that I needed to sweep up got me thinking about this today. Thanks everyone for your input. -
I am curious to know, how often do more of your clean your bench? I am not talking about simply reorganizing, I am talking about pulling stuff to the side, and wiping down the dust. I know it cannot just be me (at least I hope). I am very organized in my model room, but given cutting, sanding, painting etc, the room gets quite dusty, and despite my best efforts at the bench, it just builds up here as well. Sometimes, when I am looking at some of the master/quality projects that I see on the forum here, some of the spaces just seem so clean. This could be because they take the pics somewhere other than their building space, or the camera just does not pic up the dust etc, but surely I am not alone in this battle against dust etc.

Thanks Ace! There are a few little things I have done since these pics were taken, like black wash around the "ford" logo on the tailgate. There are a few more little things I MIGHT go back in and do later, but mostly they would be subtle like additional washes etc. I really am pleased to have finished it tho, because there were times I did not think I would because of setbacks, then after my grandson picked it up and dropped it during final assembly, whew.. LOL

I was planning on making this year, I am still hoping that I can make it.

So I checked it out this past weekend. I agree about the cinematography, and the way they shoot the cars etc, but the stupid jokes about meeting the "stars" then they die etc...not needed. Stick to speaking with stars about cars, and driving cars etc. We already have Prime, but if I did not, I would not buy an extra channel to have this show.

will be interesting to see your surgical recovery on this one.

Good looking cars

True....I find that most chrome in older kits just does not look good based on the old mold designs. Seems, injections points etc, all seem to have not been through through.

Diorama - Rally Sulamericano Erechim 2015 - Brasil
Modelbuilder Mark replied to dodouglas's topic in WIP: Dioramas
I like this a lot! While I do not build race cars, Rally is probably my favorite car racing to watch, very exciting, and you seem to have captured that very well. -
Looks like another show rod to be had for my stash!
