  1. Man, that's just so cool looking. I bet you would like to go into the garage and have a 1on1 twin to this. I love this kit. The hood treatment is just how it used to bee done in the mid to late fifties. Looks like it could be at a Good Guys Show.
  2. Outstanding body work and paint. I realy like your induction system, extra nice back wash on the blower.
  3. Like your Petty Torino. Since you are dueing a Petty collection you might start looking for some others. Polar Lights made a model of his Dodge Charger and Monogram also kitted his Grand Prix
  4. Nice build. I know others would like the engine compartment the same color as the body, and depending on what look you're after that would be good also. If you use a contrasting color engine block, or even a body colored engine block it may show your engine detail better. Are you going to use the Pro Stock hood or the flat hood? Looking forward to seeing more on this build.
  5. In addition to the Bare Metal Foil you could use a Prisomecolor Mt. Silver pin. Got mine at Office Depot. Works great, has a roller type head. As always try it on some scrap first as it is hard to control on bumpers and such.
  6. After you have used a "pin vise" you will wonder how you ever built a model without one.
  7. Tamiya has several shades of black. In addition to TS-29 Semi Gloss you can use TS-6 Matt Black or TS-82 Rubber Black. Another non spray option is Model Master #4767 Aircraft Interior Black. With a black interior you can get a lot of depth by useing a lot of different shades of black.
  8. Very nice.
  9. Looks great. Did you add the chrome body molding? I didn't think that Revell put that on the custom. Nice touch with the tail lights turned on their sides.

    chevy pro mod.

Your "usual stuff" looks very "strong" to me. Nice job.
  11. You're engine detailing looks great. Like you I enjoy the factory hot rods of old.
  12. Looks fantastic. I remember how hard it is to get the rear wheels & tires to fit up under the body. Like the paint treatment.
  13. Outstanding !!
  14. Very nice build, and a very respectful thankyou for your service.
  15. I think if you look real close you will see that the cab is from a '53 - '55. The grill is from a '56 model. Infact the grill was either from a 6 cylinder or some one filled the holes from where the V8 emblem goes in the center. The vents on the side of the hood was an added touch.
  16. What Ed said. A long long time ago at different times I had two different "56 Ford pickups and several of my friends also had the '53 thru '56 Ford pick-ups.
  17. I also have a wonderful and supporting wife who will not throw anything in the trash unless I see it first. She has seen me , like most of you here, use some of the "most off the wall things" when building a model. She once wanted a '67 Chevelle SS in purple. Thats what she wanted so thats what she got. I really do not care for a purple Chevelle with black and purple interior, but it made her happy. It's good to see others who are able to get yunger people into modeling. I belive it will help them learn patience and skills for solving problems .
  18. I have a chepo dehydrator that gets to around 80 to 90 degrees. Most paint will setup in a couple of hours from what i've seen.
  19. I learned from someone on the forum that you can mask off the lighter color, then spray some clear along the taped line. After that is dry you can spray your second color. After that has dried you can remove the tape and do your final polishing and or clear everything.
  20. Very very nice. Your engine compartment detail looks great. Good color combo.
  21. Good looking street rod.
  22. I enjoy a good pot of coffee in the morning. Some times after dinner with something real sweet. But if i'm tired, my wife says I'm the only person she has seen fall asleep with a coffe cup in their hand.
  23. Have you thought about getting a '67 Camaro kit and a '68 grill from Modelhaus. Then remove the vent windows and check the backup lights. I think that and a simple big block swap and you would be there.
  24. What is it used for? Looks like it could be fun. Has that guy got a 1) Key board. 2) Computer board. 3) Getting ready to set off an avalanche ?
  25. "A mere layman" found a real good price. You might keep an eye open whene Office Depot has a sale or close out.
