  1. Yours will be a stunning build! I’m following!
  2. Thanks much. Keep in mind the pic of the mirrors was taken before trimming and sanding. They will be rectangular.
  3. Sank these styrene rectangular pieces in Miliput clay and then will trim and sand before chrome painting. The supports I have to hit twice on each side using excess paint on the tip on purpose. It creates a pooling effect that makes for a more realistic rounded look.
  4. Half way through the scratch build of the side mirrors based on this first pic. Sheet styrene cut with hobby knife and sink into Miliput clay to harden then sand, and paint chrome.
  5. You bet. Try settting up a search for vintage Elefant on eBay. You may stumble on one.
  6. Those were off a 1/25 scale tank kit, an Elefant. It was a vintage junkyard tank I found on eBay. As far as I know, tanks are very hard to find in 1/25 scale. I looked for months before I finally found one.
  7. Those were off some little toy I found in Goodwill. I just primered them and repainted.
  8. I just realized this was not a racing boat canopy, but part of a rare kit the Magnum GT. If I had known that, I would have held out for other GT parts and maybe casted this to use on this creation.
  9. Thanks! Yes I used an airbrush and lacquer from Mcw auto finishes. They mix factory paint. I originally ordered Guaradian Blue (the dark blue like on the box) but this is what I got. As it turns out, I like it better.
  10. BAre metal foil work done. Also a shot of the rear air vent selector that I scratch built. Out of focus, but you get the idea.
  11. That’s my next project. I’ll be keeping it motorized with original chassis but super detailing with luxury interior and correct color scheme.
  12. Love it. I’m a big fan of the one off pieces.
  13. thanks David. I’m going to do more.
  14. Thanks, Fred! I shake quite badly so I'm somewhat pleased with the bare metal foil work. It's hard to do for me.
  15. Adding bare metal foil trim.
  16. I’d be interested in your method for making decals. Are you using the Testors decal sheets? They come in laser jet and ink jet.
  17. That is a factory paint that I ordered from a vendor in Ohio. I forget the exact name, but it’s not what I thought I was ordering. I wanted the darker blue as on the kit box. Turned out cool though.
  18. That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. Thanks. It’s creativity, it’s my form of art and my idea Thankfully creativity has no rules and doesn’t have to please everyone. Pete Townshend was once asked why he smashed his perfectly good guitars after a show He said “Because it’s my (expletive) guitar.” ‘Nuff said

  20. thanks much! I love to create one off stuff. I appreciate the comments!
  21. I really like this. I’m a fan of hybrid, one off what if’s!!
  22. I have the original vintage Surfer Fink. Missing one foot. Also several parts for the original vintage Daddy, Digger and Endsville Eddie kits, and parts from the reproduction Leaky Boat Louie, Daddy, Digger And Endsville Eddie kits. Just let me know if you’re interested in those and I’ll send pics.
  23. Fred, I used a chrome paint from a spray can from the hobby store. You have to put a coat of gloss black down first, then a very light coat of the “chrome”, because if you go too heavy it covers the black and just looks silver. Really good stuff once you get the technique down. As far as the wheels, I’m not sure which particular Muscle Machines car they came from because I bought them off Ebay. I think they’re all the same, though.
  24. Thise are incredible cars and your work is great! Bravo!
  25. These are off one of those Muscle Machines 1/18 scale diecast cars with the exaggerated blown hemis hanging out of the hood. I had one and got looking at the wheels and though they say they’re 1/18, they work well on this.
