Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....
mchalal replied to Dave Van's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Didn't they buy the Revell 1/16th Dragster/Funny Car kits? This was a hot topic back in March, then it sort of disappeared. I hope this wasn't just a rumor. Would love to do a vintage rail -

69 Camaro Convertible resin up top
mchalal replied to mchalal's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
you are exactly right Bill, it is far from an up top and looks little or nothing like an up "soft" convertible top. strictly a stop gap trial piece that I'll play with until a better option comes along. -

now were talking. I'm following this thread closely, once one goes into production, I'll definitely grab one. thanks guys. funny, I got an up top on eb from the 68 Camaro. figured it would be a starting point, aka better than nothing, but looking at it its just not right. -
Does anyone cast a resin up top for the Revell 69 Camaro convertible?

'69 GTO Grille w/ exposed headlights
mchalal replied to Watertown's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
here's one I've got on the workbench along with about 2 dozen other in process projects. I'm not quite sure where I got the headlight conversion pieces. I know I got them on ebay. -
looks real nice Danny!

Here's one I'm working on, not from 1933 era, but perhaps can be modified. It is a Motor City Resin piece. Nicely cast and easily to work with

I stopped by radio shack today and picked up a pack of 16 for $2.11, so I've got plenty now and a good source as long as Radio Shack doesn't go underThanks for all the good tips.

Looking for a source for in-line fuel filters. Any suggestions?

another photo, I forgot I swapped in a bench seat from the 70 Impala. not 100% correct, but I'm not counting pleats. I gave the engine a been workin look.

Great review Tim. I cant wait to get this version. I've attached a picture of one I've got deep on my bench. A new body will help with the roof. I made the front wheels steer. easy to do with existing kit parts and a thin blade razor saw.

got my order 2 days ago. Great stuff, outstanding service. Highly recommend.

the other bike available was a suzuki. Are they doing the 2 different bikes or 2 of the Yamaha?

70's ford Stake Truck
mchalal replied to mchalal's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thank you for the nice comments. Funny, I was going to add the liftgate from the Ford City Delivery truck, but figured I'd never get it done, so I went with it as is. -
Quick Overview: Revell Starsky & Hutch Torino
mchalal replied to Chuck Kourouklis's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Well I used an unexpected day off (Thanks to the Pope's visit, I live 5 minutes from where he is staying when he gets to Phila) to track one down. Found a hobby shop that had one and picked it up. Put it right on the bench. I'm certainly not going to rehash the past reviews, but some observations. I like it, not going to do it as a S&H, so I will be dropping the ride height and using AMT lettered tires and Magnum 500's. doing a single carb and somewhat more stock valve covers. While the part could is low, They seem to have hit the main parts. I don't see what more they could have done. (separate springs, a battery maybe?) I cant wait to see it as a NASCAR. I am curious how it will fit over the 1/24th scale NASCAR chassis. its nice that it is 1/25th. a lot of differing views, I personally wanted this one and am glad I got it early. -
Finally finished it. Did it as an auto parts hauler. just enough weathering to show its been used. Decals from an old 72 MPC Firebird. they still worked! Duallie wheels from Monogram Ford Duallie, tires from Scenes Unlimited.

Thanks for the comments guys. should have more pictures soon. The stake sides I won on an ebay auction are from an AMT 62 Chevy Apache pick up. They aren't glued in or painted so one day I would love to get them cast. I saw another set on ebay but didn't bid high enough. -
